It is now the leading edge for organizing the “worldwide anti-Malthusian resistance” to defeat the Green New Deal and “Great Reset”.The Sunday morning panel, “Global Glass-Steagall To End Hyperinflation,” relaunches our drive for Glass-Steagall restoration, which was initiated by Lyndon LaRouche with several members of Congress already in 2007 just before the Global Financial Crash. At the same time it opens up anti-monopoly organizing potential in agriculture, where the pandemic has shown that a new model of family farming is necessary if we are long going to continue to eat. The opening session, “War with Russia and China Is Worse than MAD,” with a profound keynote from Helga Zepp-LaRouche and representatives from Russia, China, India and the United States, intensified the Schiller Institute’s 18-month drive for a summit of leaders of those four, genuinely to substitute collaboration in development in place of war. If that is going to be done, the first and primary mission has become clear in the past 18 months. A modern capacity for healthcare, hospitals, public health and medical staff must be created in every nation of the world, where the pandemic has shown that most nations have no approximation of this. The “advanced” countries have seen their lowered hospital capacity overwhelmed by COVID; in the developing nations hundreds of thousands have died at home. The pandemic continues; this must be done, and only collaboration of the strongest nations economically can do it. Helga LaRouche has not stopped urging this be done, since March of last year. In the fourth session of the conference Sunday afternoon she discussed this potential for three and a half hours with two former U.S. Surgeons General, other medical experts, retired U.S. military professionals, and a UN representative of Russia. The key is clean water. Each new hospital of 300 beds requires a reliable source of 100,000 gallons of clean water daily; but this is just the beginning. Public health rests on clean water for residential areas, water for sanitation systems, prevention of floods and swamps and therefore water management for transportation and irrigation for food crops, water for animal husbandry. Clean water really involves river basin systems, which can produce new electricity for new hospitals. This “infrastructure” task of clean water and associated power, bound up with modern public health, hospital, clinic, laboratory systems which must be built in every nation, is the opening for converting confrontation of the military and political systems of the United States, China, Russia, India to the beginning of cooperation in third countries, developing nations. The needed professional representatives of all those nations were at Helga Zepp-LaRouche’s Schiller Institute conference, and that international deliberation is underway. (By the way, the greatest infrastructure need of the United States, by far, is for great projects of water transfer and water desalination to prevent the entire West of the nation from becoming an uninhabited desert, in the drought which has been intensifying for a generation.) Forget the political somersaults now going on in Washington whether to pass—whether to fund—whether the President will sign—a bill called “infrastructure” which ignores this entire life-and-death infrastructure matter for the human race. While there are still questions about where the Biden administration is heading in strategic policy, there are some very real reasons for concern. There is the threat of mass starvation in Yemen, and the growing danger of food shortages in Syria, due to sanctions; last week’s U.S. military strike on a base in northeast Syria; new sanctions against Russia over the fake human rights issue of Navalny; and the intent to expand NATO into the “Indo-Pacific region”, as part of a plan to “encircle and contain” China.

Between Monday and Wednesday of this week, the world has moved dramatically closer to the brink of thermonuclear war.The United States and NATO dug in their heels in their respective Jan. 10 and Jan. 12 high-level security talks with Russia, and proclaimed their intent to continue expanding NATO eastward up to Russia’s very border, and to deploy threatening nuclear attack systems also on that border, five minutes flight-time from Moscow. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko emerged from today’s Russia-NATO Council meeting to report that not only was there no unifying positive agenda between Russia and NATO, but that the U.S. and NATO have reverted to the full Cold War strategy of “containment” towards Russia, including “full spectrum dominance.” Russia is being left with no option but to respond in kind to the policy of containment, deterrence and intimidation, he stated. The Monday U.S.-Russia discussions ended on a similar note. These results are not surprising, Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche commented today. Other than any possible back-channel or private communications between Presidents Biden and Putin that may be underway and which offer a more rational approach, there could well be a quick counter-action on the part of Russia. As Putin and many top Russian leaders have warned repeatedly over recent weeks, Russia cannot back down to the threats being posed to its very sovereignty and existence. Russia is faced with a reverse Cuban Missile Crisis, only this time with a far shorter hair-trigger to war. Recall the words of JFK sixty years ago: “Within the past week, unmistakable evidence has established the fact that a series of offensive missile sites is now in preparation on that imprisoned island (Cuba).” To do this, he reminded the world, “in an area well-known to have a special and historical relationship to the U.S., is a deliberately provocative and unjustified change in the status quo which cannot be accepted by this country.” Zepp-LaRouche warned that, if the bellicose statements and confrontation continue, then the world is most likely in for a sudden showdown—which could escalate to the thermonuclear threshold nearly instantly. A broad mobilization of forces worldwide is urgently required to stop this descent into hell, and quickly develop new options that will guarantee security and wellbeing for all parties. • A new, global security architecture is needed to immediately replace the NATO organization and policy, which has brought the world to the brink of war. The driving force that is impelling the world towards thermonuclear war is the breakdown crisis of the entire trans-Atlantic financial system. For their system to survive, the predatory speculators of the City of London and Wall Street must impose fascist levels of economic looting, and bring Russia and China to heel to ensure that there is no real opposition to that policy. • The trans-Atlantic system must be put through bankruptcy reorganization along the lines specified by Lyndon LaRouche in his 2014 Four Laws. Put that system out of its misery, and you remove the danger of World War III. Throughout his life, Lyndon LaRouche repeatedly explained this intimate connection between the collapsing financial system and the drive to war. One of his clearest expositions was in a Dec. 23, 2011 statement, “To Stop Thermonuclear War, Bring on the World Economic Recovery,” which we have previously quoted in this space, and excerpts of which are the editorial appearing in the January 7, 2022 issue of Executive Intelligence Review. As that editorial notes, LaRouche’s remarks from 2011 “confirm the prescience of this genius, and demonstrates why Helga Zepp-LaRouche has called for the year 2022—the 100th anniversary of his birth—to be known as ‘The Year of Lyndon LaRouche.’” LaRouche warned in his 2011 presentation: "We are now on the verge of what must be called World War III: This will be thermonuclear World War III—not pre-nuclear war, not nuclear war, but thermonuclear war. The targets, principally, are Russia and China. These are the two principal targets…. “The issue is as follows: The present world system, the economic system, is in the process of disintegrating. Exactly how that will occur is uncertain, but it is happening. The intention is to eliminate two nations—Russia and China—and this means nuclear weapons; it means thermonuclear weapons. That part is engaged…. “Now, at this point, the United States, nations of Europe, Russia, China, and other countries, are poised for exactly this war. “The background of the war is the fact that the entire world is going bankrupt, especially the trans-Atlantic region, especially Europe, and also the United States, and the nations of South America and elsewhere, as well… “The bankruptcy from the United States’ standpoint, was set into motion back in 2007, when the beginning of the bailout process was set into motion. Since that time, the entirety of the trans-Atlantic region, particularly the United States and Europe, have been trapped into a bailout crisis, a hyperinflationary bailout crisis. At this point, the debt which has been accumulated since 2007, under this program, is such that every part of Europe at this time, under the present rules and the present arrangements, is hopelessly bankrupt! They could never recover as living nations, under the present degree of indebtedness they have. The same thing is true of the United States; Europe is a little more acute. That’s what’s happened…. The author of this thing is the British…. “Now, what we have to do—there are solutions for this bankruptcy. First of all, we have to put the world through bankruptcy—that is, a legitimate bankruptcy operation. We can do that, by, first of all, in the United States, for example—and other nations can copy this measure in cooperation with the United States—we go with a Glass-Steagall law, a U.S. Glass-Steagall law. And there are nations of Europe who are thinking of adopting the same Glass-Steagall law. “Under a Glass-Steagall law, the greater part of the debt of European nations, and the United States and others, will be wiped out, in effect, because under Glass-Steagall, the gambling debts, which are the major part of the indebtedness of the United States, will be simply put into a special category where somebody’s going to try to figure out how to get these debts paid—and they will never be paid! They will simply be wiped off the books; there’s no other solution. “Wiping that debt off the books, canceling the bailout debt, will mean that the United States, and Europe if they join, will be in a position to reorganize their finances, to create a credit system, and actually going into a new kind of Hamiltonian kind of credit system, a banking system which will enable the United States, and also Europe and other nations if they join, to organize a financial recovery. “In other words, what would happen, immediately: Remember, most of this bailout debt, the Wall Street debt, the London debt, the other bailout debt, is absolutely worthless! It can never be repaid! It never could be repaid: And the only solution, of course, for this thing, was to have this war. And if the British Empire came out as the victor in such a war, with the support of the United States, then they would cancel their debts, and they would go about their business. But, the population of the world would be reduced, greatly, through hunger, starvation, and so forth, which is about to occur anyway.”

Feb 5—At 4:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon (Feb. 4), the following headline appeared on the Bloomberg News website: “Russia Invades Ukraine.” Note that it was then midnight in Moscow, and that President Vladimir Putin was not in the country, but in Beijing. For a full 30 minutes, this headline remained on the website, before it was finally removed, with Bloomberg News posting an attempted apology: “We prepare headlines for many scenarios and one of those headlines was inadvertently published at around 4 p.m. ET today on our website. We deeply regret the error.”Error? For months the Western media, with Bloomberg News right up front, have peddled the lie that a Russian invasion of Ukraine was “imminent.” The U.S. Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines briefed NATO leaders in October that the invasion would come in the last weeks of January or the early weeks of February. Day after day the lie was peddled that over 100,000 Russian troops were poised for the invasion on the Ukraine border, despite denials by not only Moscow, but even by Kiev! Error? Keep in mind that Sir Michael Bloomberg made his billions with a software which provided information on every trade taking place in the world in microseconds. “The chance that this was an accident is essentially zero,” Helga Zepp-LaRouche exclaimed today. “There must be a Congressional investigation immediately.” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said he could not say whether or not it was an accident, but in any case, “This is a perfect demonstration of how dangerous the situation is when provoked by the endless aggressive statements that come from Washington, London and from other European governments. This is probably also a great demonstration of how such messages can lead to irreparable consequences.” Who is Sir Michael Bloomberg? Not only is he “Mr. Wall Street,” with his computer software used in virtually every financial institution, but he is also “Mr. Green New Deal,” taking great pleasure in the fact that he personally financed the campaign that shut down half of the U.S. coal mines, and also served as the United Nations’ Special Envoy on Climate Ambition and Solutions. At the Glasgow COP26 climate conference in November he announced a new effort aimed at closing a quarter of the world’s 2,445 coal plants, as well as stopping efforts underway to build 519 new coal plants by 2025. As any African leader will tell you, this means poverty and death for Africa. The fact that it is Michael Bloomberg, who is the operative in this war-mongering ploy, further proves the point emphasized for the past 50 years by Lyndon LaRouche and EIR: It is the collapse of the Western financial system (now apparent to all but the morally blind) which is the driving force for war, not the fake geopolitical accusations about “aggression” or “human rights abuse.” Not coincidentally, this incident comes on the same day that Presidents Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping met in Beijing, releasing a communiqué, titled “Joint Statement of the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China on the International Relations Entering a New Era and the Global Sustainable Development.” To understand the profound importance of this historic document, it is instructive to read what a leading mouthpiece for the British Empire and the City of London, the Daily Telegraph, has to say about it. Under the headline, “Russia and China Rise from Their Knees To Challenge U.S. Dominance,” The Telegraph writes: “The message here is anything but routine. At a moment of immense international tension, Russia and China are asserting the arrival of a new geopolitical era. From now on, the dominance of the U.S.-led global West will no longer be taken for granted—or tolerated.” It is quite interesting that they dropped the usual phrase, “U.S.-led international order,” effectively acknowledging that the U.S. is no longer the “world’s only superpower,” but at best the leader of the “West.” The Telegraph continues: “After decades of humiliation, the world’s autocratic superpowers have risen from their knees and will now up-end the inequitable post-Cold War world order.” But they add, we are now entering “a long and frosty Cold War Two.” They also effectively acknowledge that the multiple efforts to turn Russia and China against each other have failed: “The hope that Mr. Xi might be persuaded to restrain his ally or remain aloof—or conversely that Mr. Putin could be enlisted to help contain China—has been dashed.” Unstated, but implied, is that all that is left for the dying British Empire is war, both military and economic warfare, in order to return Russia and China to their knees. Helga Zepp-LaRouche addressed this utopian insanity in an article to be released soon, “100 Seconds to Midnight on the Doomsday Clock—We Need a New Security Architecture!” This is a reference to Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, which has kept its annual Doomsday Clock at 100 seconds to midnight for the third year in a row. Zepp-LaRouche insists that the new security architecture, demanded by both Russia and China, must include all nations; must include the right to development for all nations; and must end forever the Empire’s Malthusian paradigm. On February 19 the Schiller Institute will sponsor a virtual conference on this existential strategic crisis. It is essential, Zepp-LaRouche declared, that people everywhere recognize the incredible potential of this moment. Arriving at the brink of extinction is waking people up, causing them to look to see who has been lying and who has been telling the truth—and most important, who knows the necessary solution. This is the LaRouche Moment in history.

The potential to defeat the genocidal “green new deal” and “great reset” policies of the bankrupt trans-Atlantic Establishment is palpable and growing. That is what makes the global strategic situation “dangerous, polarized, interesting and hopeful—all of the above at the same time,” Helga Zepp-LaRouche asserted today.A growing number of powerful voices are being raised which, although still nodding in the direction of the green climate-change mythology, are digging in their heels against the idea of sacrificing millions or billions of people, especially in the underdeveloped sector, on the altar of Malthusian environmentalism. Yesterday it was the Indian Energy Minister and an angry editorial in China’s Global Times. Today it is Copenhagen Consensus President Bjorn Lomborg, whose op-ed was notably published in the semi-official China Daily, which argued: “Six billion not-rich people also want access to plentiful and cheap energy, lifting them out of hunger, sickness and poverty.” If the G7 nations try to deprive them of that, in the name of an illusory Green New Deal, “that will go badly,” Lomborg accurately warned. One wonders if President Joe Biden, or his Secretary of State Tony Blinken (whose recent speech on climate change seems to have been ghost-written by Greta Thunberg), have any understanding at all of the worldwide political and economic firestorm they are about to set off at the April 22-23 climate summit. Perhaps not; but it is likely that some of that strategic reality will be brought to the gathering by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who just announced that he will in fact address the virtual meeting—with a live speech that will simultaneously be broadcast on Russian national television. In that Thursday speech by Putin, and his much-awaited annual speech to Russia’s Federation Assembly a day earlier on Wednesday, April 21, Biden may well receive Russia’s response to the drastically deteriorating strategic situation, including last week’s U.S. declaration of economic warfare against Russia, which came on top of the overt military provocations against Russia taking place in the Ukrainian theater. Chinese President Xi Jinping also continues to make his views known. In addressing the Boao Forum for Asia today, Xi warned that “we must reject the cold-war and zero-sum mentality … and ideological confrontation in whatever forms,” and instead cooperate around projects such as the Belt and Road Initiative to help lift people out of poverty around the world, as the Chinese have so successfully done in their country. “‘By setting sail together, we could ride the wind, break the waves, and brave the journey of ten thousand miles.’ We may at times encounter stormy waves and dangerous rapids, but as long as we pool our efforts and keep to the right direction, the giant vessel of human development will stay on an even keel and sail toward a brighter future,” Xi stated. What is still missing is a loud outcry from political forces in Europe and the Americas, that we will not simply sit by and watch Malthusian genocide be implemented in the Congo, in Syria, in Yemen, in Venezuela and elsewhere. The greatest obstacle to be overcome to organize the population and leaders of the U.S. and the trans-Atlantic world in general, Helga Zepp-LaRouche stressed again today, is the moral indifference with which our culture has been corrupted. It is this indifference which is allowing the British Empire and its Wall Street allies to get away with, literally, murder. Mexico’s ambassador to the United Nations, Juan Ramón de la Fuente, hit the nail on the head in an op-ed published by Mexico’s El Universal yesterday: “I don’t know what is more alarming: the magnitude of the suffering which hunger causes in the world today, or the indifference with which those of us who don’t go hungry react to it.” He went on to denounce the toleration of children dying of hunger as no less a crime against humanity than “deliberately denying people access to food [which] constitutes a crime against humanity.” Our moral fitness to survive is indeed being tested, Zepp-LaRouche stated. Yet Western civilization does have the moral and intellectual resources required to defeat such indifference, and is capable of summoning them forth. That is what political organizing is all about. We have to evoke agapē, sometimes known as charity or love of mankind, which was the cornerstone for the Peace of Westphalia. It is the emotion or state of one’s soul that is inextricably woven into Nicholas of Cusa’s concept of the Coincidence of Opposites, which is the method of creative thinking that allows one to lift oneself above the moral indifference of the majority, and embrace a passionate commitment to the General Welfare—and then act on it. That method is the subject of the Schiller Institute’s upcoming May 8 conference on “The Moral Collapse of the Trans-Atlantic World Cries Out for a New Paradigm.”

In the year 2021, we must succeed in creating the new international paradigm Lyndon LaRouche fought for throughout his life, and which his movement continues. On the global scale, there is an enormous battle being fought out in numerous fields of action—a battle to replace, finally, the oligarchical system that has existed, with ebbs and flows, through human history, a system that exists most prominently today in the form of the British financial-intelligence empire of the City of London, Wall Street, and the Five Eyes intelligence agencies. That oligarchical system’s greatest individual opponent over the recent half-century was Lyndon LaRouche, who identified his enemy with a powerful precision, and organized leaders and people around the world for his perspective and policy proposals. That work was conducted in collaboration with his movement and most notably with his wife Helga Zepp-LaRouche, who leads present efforts to create a new paradigm in the world, in coherence with her late husband’s outlook.The great challenge to that oligarchical system is seen most clearly today in the nation of China, which, by rejecting the British economic orthodoxies to which many trans-Atlantic nations have adhered like barnacles to a sinking ship—and operating instead in a way that reflects many aspects of the LaRouche perspective—has eliminated absolute poverty within its borders, developed a growing technological capability approaching world leadership in several domains, and offered a hand to other nations around the world to collaborate on win-win partnerships in infrastructure, manufacturing, and trade. This is not China attempting to beat the “West” at the imperial game of geopolitics; it is a different way of approaching international relations. The signing of the EU-China trade and investment agreements, which Helga Zepp-LaRouche called “a major breakthrough for the world,” expanding the potential to see the rest of the world as useful partners, rather than as threats. Italian economist and China expert Michele Geraci expressed his view that “the main merit of this agreement is that it will help to bring China on western standards, especially regarding their policies of access to the market and respect for intellectual property.” Working out agreements is the way to address such frictions and difficulties. Unfortunately, a poison was also injected into the agreement, a poison similar to that included in recent U.S. legislation: proposals for radical reductions in CO₂ emissions, in a supposed effort to prevent catastrophic climate change. The suicidal (and murderous) policy of the Paris Climate Accord and the Green New Deal was attacked early, often, and frequently with great humor by President Donald Trump, who stood alone among leaders of the world’s most powerful nations in withstanding the Green cult’s evangelization efforts. Trump’s great potential as a force to restore America’s potential as a manufacturing powerhouse rather than a haven for financial parasitism, and as a partner—not an enemy—of Russia and China, earned him the wrath of the British Empire, which opposed his candidacy, did everything possible to destroy or take over his presidency, and acted to deny him re-election. Over the past four years, this took the form of Russiagate and the Ukraine impeachment hoax from without, and the form of such miserable creatures as Chinagate-Kung Flu-promoter Mike Pompeo from within. Today, as Trump’s campaign continues its valiant, necessary, and correct fight against the epidemic of election fraud, opportunists see the chance to inject the absurd lie that China stole the election from Trump. Such people are no friends of Trump, or of the potential his presidency holds. In less than a week, at the momentous January 6 joint session of Congress, Mike Pence, as President of the Senate, will count electoral votes and the Congress will debate objections to be raised by Representatives and at least one Senator, Jeff Hawley. Given the slim Democratic majority in the House, it is not impossible that such a challenge could succeed, if Covid prevents the attendance of some members, and proxy voting is not reinstated. What actions will state legislatures take? What will the courts do? Is the unexpected possible on January 6? Addressing the global fight, through fighting for the exoneration of Lyndon LaRouche, identifying Britain’s role in the Russiagate coup, fighting for the freedom of Assange and Snowden, to reject the surveillance state and the criminalization of free speech that go hand in hand with social media censorship, and raising the level of discussion to the international fight, provides the best vantage point for Trump’s ability to be an effective (and possibly still-in-office) leader.

At the Schiller Institute June 26-27 conference, “For the Common Good of All People, Not Rules Benefiting the Few!”, 37 speakers addressed the most important issues facing mankind today, and defined the level on which solutions can be worked out. This process is glaringly not the approach in the major world institutions at present, which are factionalized between the necessity and prospect of a new paradigm, as against those locked in the old paradigm, with great danger involved for everyone.This was manifest today in the Group of 20 meeting in Italy, the 2021 chair of the G20, at which foreign and development ministers and diplomats met in person—the first time in two years— and some virtually. The focus was on the pandemic and food supply crises. Speaking online, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi spoke of the need for coordinated action against the pandemic, saying sternly that the time for thinking in “zero-sum game” terms is over. There must be real collaboration. In contrast, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas used the occasion to criticize China and Russia for distributing their vaccines to countries as “vaccine diplomacy” for political purposes. Schiller Institute President Helga Zepp-LaRouche pointed out that the Matera gathering is one of a sequence of meetings which defines the framework to direct our efforts to make clear to the world, the type of solutions truly required, using the “spearhead” of the necessity for mobilizing for a world health security capacity. July 26-28 in Rome will be the Pre-Summit on World Food Systems, in conjunction with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, the World Food Program and other UN agencies, which will be followed in September by the Summit of the same name at the time of the U.N. General Assembly in New York. In October is the G20 heads-of-state Summit. The enemy green climate track has the October Biodiversity conference in China, followed by the COP26 in Glasgow in November. The generic title of today’s G20 meeting was, “People, Planet, Prosperity,” with the most repeated word being “multilateralism.” U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken had the audacity to assert that the U.S. is leading the multilateral effort to distribute vaccines internationally. However, Wang Yi tweeted that, “multilateralism is not a high-sounding slogan, let alone gift-wrapping for the implementation of unilateral acts.” What is required, Wang said, is for nations to stabilize and expand the production and supply lines of vaccines and other necessities. Nations with vaccine capacity should lift any export impediments. Italian statesman Michele Geraci, in characterizing the Matera proceedings, said today specifically that it will be a world failure if “multilateralism” is taken to mean that 200 nations retrench, and in the face of crises, do not collaborate to deal with the pandemic, the economic tasks, and famine. Geraci, who has been part of prior Schiller Institute colloquies, spoke today in an interview with CGTN TV. Thus, today’s one-day G20 event, if anything, makes clear the responsibility to rapidly expand the dialogue process of the Schiller Institute, in policy and mobilization. Helga Zepp-LaRouche spoke today in particular, of the concept she had put forward over last weekend’s conference, of the necessity to re-tool the capacity locked up in the military-industrial complex, which, she said, she knows sounds utopian. But if we don’t, it will mean perpetuating the endless war policy, of the MICCIMAT, as it is called by Ray McGovern, former CIA analyst, warning of the Military-Industrial-Congressional-Intelligence-Media-Academia-Think-tank complex. The danger of the “endless” war scenario turning into a final nuclear armageddon scenario couldn’t be made more clear, than by considering what is going on this very week in the up-close military exercises taking place simultaneously by NATO and Russia in both the Black Sea region and Eastern Mediterranean. Zepp-LaRouche noted of last weekend’s Schiller Institute sessions, that the entire conference was guided by the mode of thinking of the coincidence of opposites. Now more and more people are “getting it.” Forge the anti-Malthusian alliance.
