Dec. 2, 2024 (EIRNS)—The Schiller Institute International Online Conference, “In the Spirit of Schiller and Beethoven: All Men Become Brethren,” this Saturday, Dec. 7 and Sunday, Dec. 8, intersects the most dangerous moment in known history. This is the most dangerous time ever, because the destructive power of the thermonuclear and non-thermonuclear weapons that are now available, and beginning to be deployed and even utilized, is in inverse proportion to the cognitive powers of the trans-Atlantic “masters of the universe” that have access to them. Their deadly delusions have been made clear by the Anglosphere’s clinically insane recent response to Russia’s successful deployment, on Nov. 21, of the “Oreshnik” intermediate-range hypersonic ballistic missile, in response to NATO’s missile strikes into Russian territory.
NATO’s “political leadership,” disregarding dissent from even a few of their own military commanders, have, even after the Oreshnik “warning shot,” continued their ATACMS attacks against Russia. The Russians again responded, and this has, according to Russian Defense Ministry reports, resulted in American, French and other nations’ deaths on the Ukrainian battlefield. Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated in his Friday, Nov. 29 interview on Kossuth Radio that, “According to Russian reports, U.S. and French soldiers were killed in airstrikes launched by the Russians on Ukrainian territory, which indicates these soldiers were present there.”
Where have you heard that reported in American media? What reporters have asked about this at the State Department, or the Pentagon? If American and other NATO troops have been killed—and reports indicate that their numbers may be even as high as in the hundreds—why has nothing been said by the American government, or “mainstream media,” to the American people?
This illustrates the unique, strategic importance of this weekend’s conference, of the Executive Intelligence Review’s Alert Service, and of your vigorous engagement with both. We must act not only to inform citizens, but to inspire them to cause their governments to take a different path. The threat to world civilization is not that “Russia will destroy the West,” as is shouted by the likes of Zelenskyy, Ursula von der Leyen, and Lindsey Graham. The threat is that the “West” may have already destroyed itself, through a self-rejection of Western Civilization that may now be irreversible. Thermonuclear war, if it happens, will be the result of that.
“Think Like Beethoven and Schiller” will be the higher-solution concept that will be presented to the participants of the two-day conference, which is itself conceived as four movements in a single composition. Each of the earlier panels—“The Strategic Crisis: New and Final World War, or a New Paradigm of the One Humanity?”; “The Great Projects To Overcome the Migrant Crisis; the New, Quality Productive Forces of the World Economy”; and “The Science Drivers of Physical Economy Today”—lead to the final panel, “The Beauty of the Cultures of the World: A Dialogue Among Civilizations.” While much can be appreciated and gained from participating in each panel, those who listen to the conference as a whole, will gain access, through the two-day “unity of effect,” to a higher, unique organizing principle. This approach poet Friedrich Schiller called “aesthetic education,” and only from such a vantage standpoint can people marshal the necessary emotional, as well as intellectual resources, to ensure that current history will be positively transformed.
We are in mortal danger. Look at Ukraine; look at Southwest Asia. No pragmatic solution, and no pragmatic leader will save us. Unless we can inspire, now, a transformation in the emotional disposition of a new generation of world leaders, so that they become capable of thinking about humanity first, and start from the standpoint that there is only one human race, and that mankind is fundamentally good, will it be impossible to stop our self-destruction from occurring sooner or later. There is only one humanity, and all of our actions in statecraft must proceed from that One. This conference is dedicated to fighting for the beautiful and better angels of humanity’s nature, in the midst of its greatest crisis. In such times, it is the poets who must lead.
