March 7, 2025 (EIRNS)—No one is saying for sure. On Friday, The Times of London says: “There is the prospect of a ‘deal in the desert,’ as it is already being billed in Whitehall, with Ukraine and the U.S. holding talks in Saudi Arabia on a potential ceasefire deal. That could be followed in short order by a joint trip to the White House by Zelenskyy, Starmer and President Macron of France. While there are no plans for the trip next week, the prime minister is ready to go at a moment’s notice.” So, French President Macron, British Prime Minister Starmer, and Ukrainian “servant of the people” Zelenskyy are planning, depending on the U.S./Ukraine discussions in Riyadh, on returning to Washington. All three were in the U.S. just over a week ago. Then, they each went to the White House one by one. Now, they are, tentatively, to return together, perhaps as an encore to Zelenskyy’s Feb. 28 White House engagement. Speaking of comedians, does anyone remember “The Three Stooges?”

March 5, 2025 (EIRNS)—The Christian season of Lent began Wednesday, March 5. No matter what one’s religion, or lack thereof, Lent’s suggestion of self-reflection, self-control and self-development, through what Gandhi called “experiments with truth,” is the best way to develop both the ideas and the passion to propose a new direction for the trans-Atlantic “golden billion,” away from the Hell waiting around the corner.

March 2, 2025 (EIRNS)—Let us first recall, for all those that have, in the last two days, either been deluged with commentaries and “takes” on the eruption that occurred in the White House Vance-Zelenskyy-Trump exchange of Friday, or have, for some reason, not yet viewed it, and evaluated it for themselves, the single most important matter that was discussed there.

Feb. 26, 2025 (EIRNS)—We can agree with Sir Keir Starmer on one thing: This is “a world where everything has changed.”

Feb. 24—Why is it in our national security interest, that President Donald Trump act now to curtail the “special relationship” that presently exists between British Imperial and Commonwealth intelligence services, and the United States military and military-intelligence agencies?

Feb. 21, 2025 (EIRNS)—The subtitle of the City of London’s Feb. 20 The Economist article “How Europe Must Respond as Trump and Putin Smash the Post-War Order” was even more revealing than the headline: “The region has had its bleakest week since the fall of the Iron Curtain. The implications have yet to set in.”

Feb. 16, 2025 (EIRNS)—As the fur continues to fly regarding last week’s Trump-Putin phone call, the statements by U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and, most notably, the speech given by Vice-President J.D. Vance in Munich—the Feb. 14 headline of the online publication Foreign Policy read “Vance Leaves Europe Gobsmacked”—the exchange between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Secretary of State Marc Rubio has gone somewhat under-reported. “On February 15, at the initiative of the American side, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio,” Russia’s read-out begins. It then states the following: “Building on the February 12 telephone conversation between the Presidents of Russia and the United States, the two foreign ministers agreed to maintain an open channel of communication to address longstanding issues in Russian-American relations. Their goal is to remove unilateral barriers inherited from the previous U.S. administration that have hindered mutually beneficial trade, economic and investment cooperation.”

Despite all the pressure put on Gabbard, the work of the LaRouche Organization in insisting that she be allowed to come into the present administration, shows that citizens can have a meaningful effect in shaping policy. Tonight’s Fireside Chat will feature activists from the LaRouche Organization who participated in that mobilization.  

Feb. 12, 2025 (EIRNS)—Like it or not, the world is confronted today with a situation every bit as morally unequivocal, in the case of Gaza, as that of the May 1939 pre-World War Two MS St. Louis incident. Over 900 Jewish refugees from Nazi Germany, passengers on that doomed ocean liner, sought asylum and sanctuary from Cuba, the United States, and Canada, but were denied. They were forced to return to Europe. Though some found refuge in Belgium, France, etc., about a quarter of the people aboard were later killed in the concentration camps. It was called “the Voyage of the Damned”—but by whom were they damned? And what was their crime? Why were their lives not saved?

Feb. 7, 2025 (EIRNS)—“How does an individual citizen acquire the best intelligence service in the world?” How can, in the midst of distractions, intentional misrepresentation, and coercion, individual Americans acquire the knowledge they need to act in such a way as to ensure that this country, and the world survive?
