June 1, 2025 (EIRNS)—Has the world, with the Sunday, June 1 attacks on four Russian airfields, and additional sabotage of bridges and railways, crossed the line into World War Three? If so, what are you willing to do to bring it back from the brink? You have probably heard about it by now: On the eve of the June 2 Istanbul talks, Sunday’s destruction of at least 9, and possibly more (the Ukrainians have claimed 40) Russian military aircraft at bases in various parts of Russia (Olenya Airbase in Murmansk, Diaghilev Airbase in Ryazan, Belaya Airbase in Irkutsk, Ivanovo Airbase in Ivanovo) could not have been carried out, various analysts contend, without the supervision of NATO, and the involvement of either Britain, the United States, or both.
What this means is that forces in NATO, Great Britain, and the United States are escalating the war, even as negotiations with Russia are going on to end the war. Escalating these attacks is the surest road to Hell. And now, Germany is seeking authorization from the United States to deploy mid-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine. In fact, some experts assert that the Taurus missiles are already there, which if true, means that Germany is automatically a target of Russia. Russia lost 27 million people 80 years ago in World War Two, fighting Germany. Russian retaliatory attacks on production sites for the Taurus missile, located in Germany, possibly using their hypersonic Oreshnik missile, which cannot be stopped by any Western military capability, would seem nearly inevitable. Schiller Institute leader Helga Zepp-LaRouche and weapons expert Ted Postol warned about this in a May 28 podcast earlier this past week.
There is a larger, more terrifying consideration. The Sunday attack, somewhat reminiscent of “9/11” in its surprise, coordination and complexity, also raises the question as to whether American President Donald Trump did, or did not know that it was in the works. In the case that he did not know, this could be the beginning of a coup against Trump by those who set the attack up. Alternatively, if Trump did know, in which case, he has given up on a diplomatic relationship with Putin and Russia, and we are heading for war. Either way, however, we are in a very different, far more dangerous political space.
What that means is that there must be no jumping to conclusions, no irresponsible assertions, no “it’s obvious” hot-dogging. That could be fatal.
For analytical purposes, for a moment, place this attack within the domain of the “9/11” precedent. Consider that attack as an assault on the institution of the Presidency—but not only the American Presidency. Consider the naggingly unsatisfactory explanations as to how that “9/11” attack could have occurred, as well as what actually transpired in that attack, nearly 24 years ago. Then, consider the recent attack by Ukraine’s drones on the helicopter of President Putin. Now, think again of last year’s attempts on the life of Presidential candidate Trump. Trump had nearly been killed less than a year ago on July 13, 2024 in Butler, Pennsylvania on, and was targeted again in Florida in September 2024 by an would-be assassin who had tried to purchase a rocket launcher from what he thought was a Ukrainian arms-dealer. “I need equipment so that Trump cannot get elected,” he wrote.
According to Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, it is clear, and President Trump agrees this is the case, that the May 15, 2025 posting by former FBI Director James “Russiagate” Comey of the sea-shell-written message, “86/47,” could not have been construed as other than an assassination threat against Donald Trump. “We fully support the Secret Service investigation into Comey’s threat on President Trump’s life,” she said. Take a bold step, and consider: Is someone trying to assassinate both President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, and if so, who? And who would have the capability to carry that out?
Is there a coup element operating through the Senate of the United States against the peace process? Look at the lunatic role of the ongoing “Istanbul Talks Sabotage Tour” in Ukraine May 30-31, and June 1 in Paris, by bipartisan chaos agents Senators Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal.
Perhaps reality is not these senators’ strong suit. Consider this lunatic assessment: “Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal emphasized that Russian propaganda is trying to impose on the world the idea of Russia’s successes on the battlefield, but this does not reflect reality, and Ukraine continues to stand strong in its fight against the aggressor.” Apart from its lunacy—no one seriously denies that Russia is winning the war on the battlefield—there is an impending potentially serious consequence to their madness. PBS reports: “At the heart of their push is a bipartisan sanctions bill, backed by nearly the entire U.S. Senate but still facing uncertain odds in Washington. It would impose 500% tariffs on countries that continue buying Russian oil, gas, uranium and other exports—targeting nations like China and India that account for roughly 70% of Russia’s energy trade and bankroll much of its war effort.”
“Graham called it ‘the most draconian bill I’ve ever seen in my life in the Senate.’”
Are these Senators acting in concert with Britain and NATO to reverse the Trump Administration initiative toward Russia, using Ukraine as the proxy for their purpose? Is that action treasonous, not only to the United States, but also to the human race? Responding to the attacks, Ray McGovern, co-founder of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS), tweeted: “TRUMP ALERT: Call President Putin NOW.… Naive neocons want wider war….” In a desperate attempt to blow up everything—including the world, in a possible thermonuclear exchange—European financial and political forces, led by the City of London’s intelligence services, have used their assets in the command structure of NATO and the U.S. Department of Defense to sabotage the resumption of sane and just relations between the United States and Russia. What should we, the citizens of the trans-Atlantic, do about this?
In this changing situation, however, it is of the utmost importance not to jump to conclusions—especially when one is “certain” of simplistic answers to complex questions—but, rather, to stop and think. Once you are thinking, then act. Executive Intelligence Review, the EIR Daily Alert, and the commentary and analysis featured on the sites of the Schiller Institute and The LaRouche Organization, is the only place this sort of analysis is available to the general public. It needs to be as widely distributed right now as possible by you, on the streets, and in cyberspace. Read and circulate Helga Zepp-LaRouche’s Ten Principles for a New International Security and Development Architecture. Join our organizing, in street actions and literature distributions. There is an alternative, as was exhaustively demonstrated at last week’s Schiller Institute Conference, “A Beautiful Vision for Humanity in Times of Great Turbulence!” But for humanity to achieve that alternative, change everything you are doing, if necessary, and to help us stop this descent into Hell. The human race, and its future, are worth it.
