The conversation makes clear that the United States, the U.K. and France all have military personnel in Ukraine now, carrying out functions. The discussants confer in detail on options for how the Bundeswehr might carry out tasks related to missiles and training, without appearing to do so. |

Feb. 27—Russia, with all of its problems, did not crumble under Western sanctions. It turns out that a lot of what they could get from the West had little to do with survival, and they were thrown back to the necessity of concentrating on producing more of what they actually needed. The country did not break apart over the mobilization to free the Donbass from Kiev’s eight years of artillery shelling and political deprivations. It turns out there really are a lot of native Russians and Russian-speakers in Crimea and the Donbass, whom other Russians identify with. (It wasn’t as if they were being conscripted to fight an imperialist war.) And the supposed “isolation” of Russia has done more to isolate the West from the Global Majority of the world than leaving Russia punished in the corner. |

Feb. 24—The world is rapidly approaching multiple points of crisis, all of which require a transformation in orientation and axioms. In the case of NATO’s escalations against Russia, epitomized by the hysteria over supposed Russian nuclear weapons being deployed to space, a further wedge is being driven between any future relationship between Russia and the West. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov ridiculed the hype around the outer space weapons as “absurd,” and said that it is becoming impossible to communicate with the U.S. about almost anything, given the U.S.’s flagrant lies. |
Feb. 23—The beginning of the coming week is the deadline for Israel to comply with the Jan. 26 directive of the World Court (UN International Court of Justice) whose sixth and last point of its instruction was that Israel had a month, making it Feb. 26, by which time, to report back on its improvement in the five areas of relieving the conditions of Palestinians in Gaza, and stopping the IDF assault. It will be no surprise if Israel formally snubs the Court, by refusing to provide a report. The world has watched in horror as Israel has intensified every one of its attacks in Gaza—from shelling, to food cut-off, water cut-off, medical cut-off—whose overall status the Court deemed a month ago was “plausible” as genocide. |

Feb. 22—The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has already warned that Israel is in grave danger of committing a genocide in Gaza—and that was before the threatened invasion of Rafah, the only remaining safe zone for Gaza’s refugees. The leaders of 18 humanitarian aid organizations have now issued a statement warning of “mass casualties” if Israel proceeds with its ground invasion. This reality is increasingly clear to the world, yet this still has not stopped Israel and its supporters from moving ahead. |

Feb. 20—The International Court of Justice scheduled a hearing on the 56-year-long administration by Israel of the Palestinian lands of the West Bank and Gaza. There had been a sort of “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy in the world, as to the responsibility for bringing stability to the area. However, once the ICJ dared to pose the question, so many countries have found their tongues that the hearing has been scheduled to span the whole week. |
