Now, at this moment, the forces that have been assembled by the Schiller Institute’s founder and leader, Helga Zepp-LaRouche, must become the acknowledged voice of reason proposing a workable new strategic and development architecture.
LaRouche Independent Candidate Jose Vega will be giving a report tonight on the “Fireside Chat” show of The LaRouche Organization. Vega and his campaign are using his famous tactic of ”street intervention” to expose the criminal buying and selling of American Congressional districts to the military-monetary complex.
June 13, 2024 (EIRNS)—The Schiller Institute’s Wednesday, June 12 Washington, D.C., National Press Club Emergency Press Conference, “The Danger of Nuclear War Is Real, and Must be Stopped,” was, in several ways, highly successful. Panelists Scott Ritter, Col. Richard Black (ret.), Col. Larry Wilkerson (ret.), and Schiller Institute founder and chairwoman Helga Zepp-LaRouche were heard by nearly 2,000 people live, and more than 30,000 over the subsequent 24 hours. Diplomatic embassies and news agencies from around the world attended in person and via social media.
Yesterday’s National Press Club Emergency Conference, “The Danger of Nuclear War Is Real, And Must be Stopped, “ sponsored by the Schiller Institute, was, in several ways, highly successful.
June 9, 2024 (EIRNS)—One year ago, June 10, 2023, Helga Zepp-LaRouche organized and keynoted a Schiller Institute Conference, “The World Needs JFK’s Vision of Peace.” Zepp-LaRouche and her newly-organized International Peace Coalition had just begun meeting weekly on Fridays, holding a provocative but fruitful international dialogue, involving all national populations, on how to change the lethal popular culture of pessimism and indifference, to embark upon a new course of optimistic, mass-based, strategic policy-actions. One year later, the International Peace Coalition has held 53 consecutive Friday meetings, open to all those of good will, devoted to the task of establishing a new security and development architecture for the world. On June 10, 1963, JFK stated his vision of peace in these words: Let us examine our attitude toward peace itself. “Too many of us think it is impossible. Too many think it is unreal. But that is a dangerous, defeatist belief. It leads to the conclusion that war is inevitable—that mankind is doomed—that we are gripped by forces we cannot control. We need not accept that view. Our problems are man-made—therefore, they can be solved by man.”
Who says that the response of Russia, China, or other targeted nations, to wars prosecuted by NATO and the “mad, old, diseased and dying” Anglosphere, must be on their bestial level?
June 7, 2024 (EIRNS)—In a world where, as Helga Zepp-LaRouche said to yesterday’s meeting #53 of the International Peace Coalition, “red lines are being crossed every day,” and world war seems an inevitability, humanity’s survival may now well depend on an immediate, successful deployment and application of a higher level of intelligence in statecraft.
June 2, 2024 (EIRNS)—The late economist and statesman Lyndon LaRouche concluded his 1977 document, titled “What Really Are the Labor Committees?—The Lessons of Erasmus and Franklin,” with the following paragraph: “Let it be understood, therefore, that if you are a humanist, the Labor Committees are in that sense your organization—whether or not you are a member. If you are for technological progress in the expansion of industry and agriculture, and define the vital interests of nations in those terms, and if you regard man’s power to create and assimilate scientific knowledge for the perfection of our species as the inviolable distinction between man and the lower beasts, then the Labor Committees are an indispensable aid to the cause you espouse, whatever political affiliation you have.”
May 31, 2024 (EIRNS)—This past week’s successful drive, led by the LaRouche Organization’s daily Emergency Alert Service, to break the story that the war on Russia by the financially and morally bankrupt Anglosphere has entered a new, lunatic phase with “Ukraine’s”—read “NATO’s”—bombing of Russia’s early warning radar system, is an important first step toward the establishment of an independent, international intelligence gathering and evaluations capability.
Tonight, join New York 2024 United States Senate Candidate Diane Sare, and Congressional Candidate Jose Vega, on our “Thursday Fireside Chat With Lyndon LaRouche.”
May 24, 2024 (EIRNS)—Is the arc of the moral universe bending, with ever-greater curvature, toward justice? Yesterday, the United Nations International Court of Justice (ICJ) at The Hague ordered the State of Israel to cease its war-crime violations of international law being perpetrated by its military assault in Gaza, now known to be responsible for the deaths of over 35,000 people, and possibly thousands more among the 10,000 still declared missing. (There have been about another 1,000 killed in the West Bank as well since Oct 7.)
Before the United States, as a direct result of its increasingly lunatic military and other policies, disappears, along with the rest of the world, in a thermonuclear mushroom cloud, patriotic but enlightened American citizens should consider a happier alternative.
We study tonight the crucial strategic insights needed to understand and in a more important way, how to deal with this problem. As Shelly said in his Defense Of Poetry: The poets are the unacknowledged legislators for mankind.
May 13—Faced with an unprecedented evil—the ongoing, electronically-transmitted genocide, transpiring at this moment in Gaza, with no trans-Atlantic government acting to stop it—we, the people, are required to evoke from ourselves, and then deploy, an unprecedented good. Neither the world in general, nor we as individuals, can, or will, avoid the truth of this moment. We are being tested in the balance. Our self-conception as human beings is placed on one side of the scale. On the other side of the scale are weighed the lives of what was once 2 million people in Gaza. Over 350,000 people have been forced to flee, now from Rafah, where they were told they would be safe. The “red line” has been crossed, and nothing has been done. The Palestinians are forced to flee again some for the eighth or more time in eight months, now out of Rafah, and to where … and to what?
May 11—Can all of humanity think the way that the poet Friedrich Schiller forecast that it would, one day, in his poem An die Freude? Can all of humanity be called to service, not the way doomed governments call their young to die in senseless war, but for the purpose of eradicating poverty, famine, disease and war itself, as one American President—the last flawed, but truly free, and then assassinated American President—proposed in his 1961 Inaugural Address?
Beethoven’s idea of humanity must prevail, now. How can millions be brought to the threshold of “thinking like Beethoven” in time to reverse our destructive course? How can the genius of the Ninth Symphony free us from ourselves?
The Schiller Institute and the LaRouche Organization will launch a campaign, using the 50-year-old publication Executive Intelligence Review, and its new, derivative Emergency Alert Service, to launch “special cultural operation” to get the newly awakened Americans and others, to “think like Beethoven,” and on behalf of humanity.
May 3—In the midst of the tumultuous events of this past week—some hopeful, as with the hundreds of worldwide student assemblies convened to challenge the Anglosphere’s genocide in Gaza; others, catastrophic, as were the recent disastrous legislative actions to finance war, and to suppress freedom of thought, passed into law by the United States Congress—it is important for the LaRouche Organization to call attention to that which defines the higher battle under way for the soul of what was, only a short time ago, known and defended as Western Civilization, and the sovereign nation state.
Tonight’s Fireside Chat, held in the shadow of both President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Lyndon LaRouche, will propose what people, who still believe in freedom of thought, freedom of conscience, and freedom of advocacy, can and must do to roll back the new fascist onslaught on the human mind, a form of “menticide” which must be vigorously confronted and defeated.
April 19—April 19, 1775 marks for many the “official beginning” of the American Revolution: the battle of Lexington-Concord—“the shot heard ’round the world.” On April 18, 249 years later, a “vote heard around the world” was taken in the Security Council of the United Nations. Algeria, France, Slovenia, Malta, Guyana, Ecuador, Sierra Leone, Mozambique, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Russia and China took action to recognize Palestine as a state member of the United Nations. This was a vote heard around the world, on behalf of human freedom, justice and equality. There were two equivocators, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, that abstained. Only the United States, in a vote which will live in infamy, opposed Palestine’s membership. Because it is a permanent member of the Security Council, that one vote by the U.S. stopped the resolution from going through.
Speakers Ray McGovern and Jose Vega, both active in the International Peace Coalition, will report on their respective actions to resolve today's crisis with the concept of peace through development.
April 15—Helga Zepp-LaRouche, in two discussions with colleagues on Monday, stressed that, in this potentially catastrophic world situation, it is essential that the proceedings of the Saturday Schiller Institute conference, “The Oasis Plan: The LaRouche Solution for Peace Through Development Between Israel and Palestine and for All of Southwest Asia,” be made available in a condensed format within 48 hours. The United Nations will see discussions in the next days which could prove to be momentous. The Schiller Institute comprehensively presented the Lyndon LaRouche insight, still controversial to many, that a comprehensive physical-economic solution must either accompany, or precede, any efficient proposal for the resolution of the population wars in Ukraine and in the Gaza/West Bank.
