Leading Developments

May 31, 2025 (EIRNS)—The 400 persons assembled at the May 24-25 conference co-sponsored by the International Caucus of Labor Committees, and the Schiller Institute in Newark, New Jersey, and the additional hundreds that attended all or part of that conference online—representing some 50 nations overall—have, by means of that conference, successfully intervened to provoke the creation of a worldwide, immediate system of conferences, whose “uber-topic” must be the discussion of the principles of a new strategic and development architecture as one, self-same, undivided process. There are already groupings of nations that are assembling, or planning to meet, whether at the United Nations this June 17-19 on the matter of Palestine, or in various locations around the world, in the form of the multilateral organizations of the Global Majority. What can be done by us to upshift those gatherings from mere geopolitical concerns, banking concerns, or strictly military concerns, in order to, before it’s too late, find the humanity in the “enemy,” the “other”?

Demonization of “the Other” should stop. Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu, speaking to the 105 nations that attended the 13th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues, observed that “The myth of our ‘isolation’ has been disproven once again.” With over half of the world’s nations attending and participating in multi-channel meetings of the BRICS-Plus, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and Russia-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), it should become clear that the efforts to impose “geostrategic” limits on Russia in the last three years, though not without effect, were, through their failure, far more devastating to the triumphalist premises of trans-Atlantic geo-policy.

President Putin sent a video to that meeting in which he said, “I have said it before and will reiterate: we are convinced that the new security architecture must be equal and indivisible—that is, all states must receive firm guarantees of their own security, but not at the expense of the security and interests of other countries.” This echoes the outlook of the 1644-48 Treaty of Westphalia—but not that of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, who in 1999 spoke in Chicago about the need to end that very Treaty of Westphalia, and who has insinuated himself in recent weeks into the Gaza theater.

Steve Witkoff has apparently made the mistake of “bringing in Tony” as an “advisor on the Middle East.” Blair actually had an unbroken eight years of failure in his role as “Special Envoy” to the “Middle East” from 2007-2025, for what was then called “the Quartet”—the UN, the U.S., the EU, and Russia. His Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, which employs 800 people worldwide, though, is “active in Rwanda, Senegal, Nigeria, Mozambique, Togo, Ivory Coast, Malawi, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Teams of TBI experts sit at the heart of foreign governments….” “He has offices in London, New York, San Francisco, Abu Dhabi, Singapore and Accra, and enough money to stage the slickest political conference in Britain.”

Ironically, Britain’s present Attorney General, Lord Richard Simon Hermer (Baron Hermer), from the Labour Party as is Tony Blair, has created a great commotion in recently criticizing various elements of the “British right,” citing their “claim that international law is fine as far as it goes, but can be put aside when conditions change. [This] is a claim that was made in the early 1930s by ‘realist’ jurists in Germany, most notably Carl Schmitt, whose central thesis was, in essence, the claim that state power is all that counts, not law.” Schmitt was an infamous Nazi jurist, and Hermer’s statements have elicited much reaction. But what Baron Hermer criticized “the right” for, is precisely what Blair did in his 1999 attack on the Treaty of Westphalia, saying that the “Responsibility To Protect,” must replace the idea of the “benefit of the other” in diplomacy. There must be a “Rules-Based Order”—rules-based, not principles-based.

That was the approach that, largely thanks to Blair and 10 Downing Street, produced that crime against humanity called the 2003 Second Iraq War and its more than 1 million dead, including a half-million children, whose deaths in the war’s wake former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright asserted were “worth it.” This is no time for the Trump Administration, which needs to sound the certain trumpet of reason in Gaza, Ukraine, and Iran to instead, bring in the same “Tinny Blare” that caused George Bush to utter the fateful 16 words—“The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa.”

The vise-grip of the broken, antiquated trans-Atlantic mind-set regarding the efficient negotiation of world peace, must be broken by the mass proliferation of an alternate evaluative process now being provided by Executive Intelligence Review newsweekly. Many things in current history cannot be certain from moment to moment. For example, analyst Scott Ritter has hypothesized, as was reported a few days ago in the news outlet RT, that “Ukraine needed Western help to target Putin’s helicopter,” referring to the recent fending off of 46 drones by President Putin’s personal aircraft. RT referred to Ritter contending that “if the Ukrainians drones actually targeted the Russian President, they did not do so in a vacuum … there would have been assistance provided by the West, which means that the West is targeting the Russian President.” Such an hypothesis needs to now be thoroughly corroborated, and not merely irresponsibly repeated by others—internet “urban legend” style—as though it is “known to be true.” Real investigative journalism is required for that.

At the conclusion of yesterday’s International Peace Coalition (IPC) meeting, both Helga Zepp-LaRouche, and analyst Graham Fuller, a career intelligence officer and former vice-chair of the National Intelligence Council, spoke about this: We are producing a Daily Alert that is not like any other information. It is the result of 50 years of processing intelligence; this is what was initiated by my late husband, Lyndon LaRouche, more than 50 years ago. Initially it was a way to inform our own members by developing the intelligence, developing the expertise in all fields—economics, strategy, foreign policy, Middle East, Europe, the United States, Russia. I could give you a very long list.

“This we have been working on with a number of international investigative journalists you could say, who are producing a daily briefing which is the digested analysis put into a strategic context every day. So, when you are reading this Daily Alert, it is not just reporting the news as such, or facts or events. It situates each of these breaking developments in their historic strategic background so that every person who is reading that is briefed as well as a President or Chancellor should be. Ray McGovern who has been on this IPC several times and the Schiller conference, said that he thinks this is the best daily intelligence briefing he knows. He was a briefer of three American Presidents, and he said that he has come to the conclusion that in this daily alert there is much information which he absolutely needs to know. It’s the first thing he does in the morning; to go to our Daily Alert and read it before he does anything else.” What you are reading now, if thought about, acted upon, and reproduced in others, will allow us, through the perhaps seemingly small actions of thousands, to be placed at the forefront of promoting the General Welfare of humanity as a whole."

Don’t Let Them Start Another World War

May 31, 2025 (EIRNS)—It was famously said by Milton that Lucifer would rather “reign in Hell, then serve in Heav’n”; the Western elites are but clumsy and infantile imitators of that “lost Arch-Angel,” but very dangerous ones, all the same.
