Oct. 11, 2024 (EIRNS)—“Die alten, bösen Lieder, Die Träume bös’ und arg, Die lasst uns jetzt begraben, Holt einen grossen Sarg.” (“The old, evil songs, the spiteful and mean Dreams, let’s bury them now; fetch a big coffin.”—Heinrich Heine’s words, and their musical setting by Robert Schumann, come to mind, seeing the too-familiar dance between Macron and Zelenskyy, Zelenskyy and Washington, Zelenskyy and various nations in South and East Europe, etc., pretending that they do not know that the Ukraine war is all but lost. They mouth that they are in full support of “victory for Ukraine” in its unwinnable war against Russia, with the full realization that they are lying, and will soon be discovered—but continue, nonetheless.
Oct. 9, 2024 (EIRNS)—“We are sitting on two regional crises which could lead to a global escalation” ending in a general world war, Helga Zepp-LaRouche warned listeners today on her weekly Dialogue webcast. “One is Ukraine; and the other is the Middle East. And I think one has to look at these two things together,” she stated, both to understand them and to solve their underlying cause.

Oct. 8, 2024 (EIRNS)—This Saturday’s showdown at Ramstein, Germany of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, just had the rug pulled out from underneath it. Early this afternoon, the White House issued a terse announcement that President Biden canceled his trip. The official reason is that he is needed to deal with the impending landing in Florida of Hurricane Milton.

Oct. 7, 2024 (EIRNS)—The world is sitting on an absolute powder keg, as there are now two major conflicts which could erupt at any moment into a global war. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant is scheduled to visit Washington this week where he will be discussing a potential response to Iran’s missile attack last week, and at the same time working to bring the U.S. fully into Israel’s war against Iran. Despite the echo chamber that exists in Washington, there are even some voices across the trans-Atlantic that recognize that nothing good will come if this policy is continued—as French President Emmanuel Macron has most recently exhibited in calling for an end to weapons shipments to Israel.
Oct. 6, 2024 (EIRNS)—By the time you read this, on Oct. 7, Israel may well have conducted an attack on the nation of Iran, “in retaliation” for Iran’s attack last week on Israeli military sites. What weapons will they use, and for what purpose? Whether today, or later, war is the intention.
Netanyahu is delivering on his promise for vengeance against Palestinians, but he cannot deliver peace for Israel. He is a tool for those behind endless wars to protect endless looting.
Oct. 5, 2024 (EIRNS)—On Friday, Oct. 4, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov made the apt point that, “We are navigating uncharted military-political territory.” While his comments referred to the growing hostility between NATO and Russia, along with the utter collapse in diplomatic relations, the comment could also be applied to the world as a whole.
Oct. 4, 2024 (EIRNS)—“Where Is Israel Heading, When the Only Horizon Its Leaders Offer Is War?” asked the editorial in Israeli daily Haaretz. The same could be said of the leaders of every nation of today’s entire trans-Atlantic world, with a few notable exceptions. Indonesia’s President-Elect Prabowo Subianto recently pointed out that “We are witnessing heightened tensions, with global defense and strategy experts suggesting that we are on the brink of World War III…. History has shown that when powers seek to impose their will, wars erupt unexpectedly, as seen in World War I and II…. Thankfully, Indonesia has a strong tradition of non-alignment, and we will continue to uphold that position.”
Oct. 3, 2024 (EIRNS)—Today the Chief of Staff of Iran’s armed forces, Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, explained for anyone who cared to hear, what their Tuesday, Oct. 1 attack on Israel was about: “After Martyr Haniyeh’s assassination, Iran went through a tough period of self-restraint amid repeated requests by the Americans and Europeans, who would ask us to exercise self-restraint so they would establish a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.” However, Israel’s constant provocations undermined the process, and the assassination of Hezbollah head Hassan Nasrallah was the last straw. So, Bagheri explained that Tehran took a measured action: Iran targeted the “center for terrorism,” the Mossad spy agency; the Nevatim air base, which houses Israel’s F-35s; and the Hatzerim base, which had enabled the assassination of Nasrallah. Further, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in the hours after Iran’s Oct. 1 launching of missiles, clearly explained to European foreign ministers that Iran had sent its message, a lawful response, and that they were finished—unless Israel “plans retaliation.”
Oct. 2, 2024 (EIRNS)—The world now stands on the brink of a U.S.-Russia nuclear war being triggered not only in the Ukraine theater, but in Southwest Asia as well.
The war hawks are preparing for a three-front nuclear war, which they think can be won. They are wrong, and their war plans can be outflanked and defeated!
On Oct. 3, on Reunification Day in Germany, masses of Germans plan to protest in the streets to demand an end to Berlin's support of the NATO warfare, and to restore sovereignty and economic betterment in their country. Peace and security are based on economic development.
Oct. 1, 2024 (EIRNS)—As of today, the United States is involved in hot warfare in Southwest Asia—not readiness, not contingency, but engagement. At nightfall today, local time, some 180-200 ballistic missiles were fired from Iran to Israel, in retaliation, according to the Tehran statement today, for Israel’s Sept. 27 assassination of Hassan Nasrallah, leader of the Hezbollah, and other named leaders. Two U.S. destroyers, the USS Cole and the USS Bulkeley, fired 12 interceptors back at the missiles, joining in the Israeli defense.

Sept. 30, 2024 (EIRNS)—The evil war drive of the U.S.-backed Netanyahu Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in Southwest Asia is heading into full-fledged regional combat, even to nuclear obliteration, as dramatically as is the crisis of the NATO-proxy warfare by Ukraine against Russia. This latter threat has not abated even though there so far is no formal, public approval by the U.S. for Ukraine to use deep-strike weapons into Russia. That remains pending.
Sept. 29, 2024 (EIRNS)—Whatever team is making decisions at the White House, this “collective Joe” grouping has, on two recent occasions, apparently turned down the opportunity to go full “flight-forward,” when confronted with the matter of firing Western long-range missiles deep into Russia. On Sept. 13, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer came to muscle Biden on the matter, and on Sept. 26, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy attempted his unique form of charm on the White House. On both occasions, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin had sent a loud and clear message the day before, that Moscow was in no mood to play games, where Ukrainian proxies have their “’label” on the launching of U.S., British and French long-range missiles deep into Russia.
