March 10—“In light of the escalating Ukraine crisis, people around the world are urgently asking themselves and their political leaders where this will all end. March 9—The Russian Defense Ministry published documents this morning it said prove that the Kiev regime was preparing an offensive in the Donbas set to begin in early March. The document posted this morning is an order signed by the commander of Ukraine’s National Guard, Colonel-General Mykola Balan, dated Jan. 22, 2022. This document, entitled “On organizing the training of a battalion tactical group of the 4th operational brigade to perform combat (special) tasks in the joint forces operation as part of a brigade of the armed forces of Ukraine,” "details the plan for preparing one of the shock groups for offensive operations in the zone of the so-called ‘Joint Forces Operation’ in the Donbas, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov this morning.Konashenkov stressed that the order focused on the 80th separate air assault brigade which had been trained by American and British instructors under the “NATO standard” training programs in Lviv. As part of the preparation for offensive action, “the National Guardsmen are ordered to provide ‘visual agitation, information and propaganda materials, flags, and printing products,’” Konashenkov continued. “The deputy commander of the National Guard for personnel was ordered to organize ‘an effective system of moral and psychological support for the battalion tactical group of the 4th operational brigade, internal communication of commanders with subordinates, information.’ At the same time, it is important to provide ‘an explanation to the personnel of the decisions of the leadership and the importance of fulfilling the tasks ahead.’” Konashenkov drew attention to a paragraph in the order that “prohibits sending National Guardsmen who showed ‘unsatisfactory’ results of psychological testing according to the criterion of ‘risk readiness’ to the area of combat coordination and to the place of performance of ‘combat special tasks.’” “We well remember the statements by the leadership of the Kiev regime circulated in February by the Western media about the alleged absence of any plans for the armed seizure of the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics. Their desire to resolve all issues allegedly in a political and diplomatic way,” Konashenkov continued. “However, the originals of the secret military documents of the National Guard of Ukraine clearly prove the falsity of these statements.” Only one question remains to be answered, he concluded: “how deeply the U.S. leadership and its NATO allies were involved in the planning and preparation of the operation to storm the Donbas by the Ukrainian inter-service grouping of troops in early March. All those who care so much about peace in Ukraine today.”
March 9—The American mass media have been incessantly bombarding Americans with the idea that Russians are monsters, and that there are not—repeat not—any neo-Nazis fighting as part of the Ukrainian forces. For example, PBS Newshour recently lionized Artem Semenikhin, mayor of the small town of Konotop, for his “dogged resistance” to Russia: “We are ready to fight to the end … to defeat these Russian cockroaches.” He proudly displays his automatic weapon. “My weapons are American.” He brags: “I think the occupiers will be pleased that we’re killing them with American weapons.” Then he goes outside to rabble rouse in the town square. The problem is that PBS got their video footage of their “small-town mayor” character, and up on wall behind him for all to see was a giant portrait of the 1940s Nazi collaborator and nationalist Ukrainian hero, Stepan Bandera. PBS chose to deal with the problem by simply blurring the portrait portion of the video: no neo-Nazis here.This blatant media lying is the subject of Patrick Lawrence column in Consortium News on Tuesday, March 8. First, Lawrence notes that any count of fatalities in Ukraine has to begin with the 14,000 dead in the Donbas, along with the 1.5 million refugees, all prior to 2022, from Kiev’s treatment of its Ukrainian citizens. Then he makes the salient point that the West is doing “Brzezinski 1979” all over again—but using Nazi militias in Ukraine instead of mujahideen in Afghanistan. Getting to the PBS travesty, he refers to the January 2021 NATO study, “Cognitive Warfare”—really a technological application of the infamous Bertrand Russell description of a level of brainwashing skill, whereby a government could convince a population that “Snow is black.” Lawrence quotes: “The brain will be the battlefield of the 21st century. Humans are the contested domain. Cognitive warfare’s objective is to make everyone a weapon.” (He also picks out, for fun, this self-damning quote: “In particular, the brain is unable to distinct [sic] whether information is right or wrong.” For Lawrence, the PBS blurring of the Bandera portrait was yet another obnoxious step in the “Cognitive War,” a war where going for clarity is the pathway out. With individual minds making that fight for clarity, he concludes that an effort to examine a) the “regrettable but necessary” Russian intervention, and b) the Putin-Xi joint statement of Feb. 4, will provide the needed clarity for American self-examination: “[W]e are all called upon either to recognize the United States for what it has become, an empire violently defending itself history itself, or accept our fate among the victims of this empire.”
PARIS, March 9—Any attentive reader of the texts of the Peace of Westphalia treaties will discover that its deep philosophical commitment of favoring the “advantage of the other” as one’s own, is also translated into concrete acts laying the foundation for a new international financial and economic order.Article 1 states the core philosophy: “That there shall be a Christian and Universal Peace, and a perpetual, true, and sincere Amity, between (list of all parties giving up the fighting)” and “that this Peace and Amity be observ’d and cultivated with such a Sincerity and Zeal, that each Party shall endeavour to procure the Benefit, Honour and Advantage of the other; that thus on all sides they may see this Peace and Friendship in the Roman Empire, and the Kingdom of France flourish, by entertaining a good and faithful Neighbourhood.” Article 2 then outlines the kind of “reset” we urgently need today: “There shall be on the one side and the other a perpetual Oblivion, Amnesty, or Pardon of all that has been committed since the beginning of these Troubles, in what place, or what manner soever the Hostilitys have been practis’d, in such a manner, that no body, under any pretext whatsoever, shall practice any Acts of Hostility, entertain any Enmity, or cause any Trouble to each other; … all that has pass’d on the one side, and the other, as well before as during the War, in Words, Writings, and Outrageous Actions, in Violences, Hostilitys, Damages and Expences, without any respect to Persons or Things, shall be entirely abolish’d in such a manner that all that might be demanded of, or pretended to, by each other on that behalf, shall be bury’d in eternal Oblivion.” Since for decades all players had been slaughtering each other to pay off their debts with imperial loot to bankers lending to all sides to keep the war going, the phrase includes the category of “Expenses” to be “buried in eternal Oblivion.” Then, the Treaty, which takes up many particular demands, and before settling territorial claims concentrates on addressing the financial ruin in which all were descending. Insolvent and illegitimate debt and financial claims, explicitly identified as potential causes feeding the perpetual war dynamic, are sorted out and settled, mostly by debt annulment (Articles 13 and 35, 37, 38 and 39) or negotiated rescheduling (Art. 48). Article 40 explicitly specifies that honest loans extended during the war “with a good intent, by way of Contributions, to prevent greater Evils by the Contributors, are not comprehended herein” (and therefore to be honored). Fears are surfacing among western financial networks that the sanctions policy against Russia could trigger a global debt default. Victoria Nuland admitted under oath, during Senate testimony, that the U.S. has bioweapon labs in Ukraine, despite continuing denials from other U.S. officials. And the Russians released a war plan, drafted by the Commander of Ukraine's National Guard, on January 22, which shows that Ukraine intended to launch a deadly, full-scale invasion against the Donbass republics later this month, had Putin not intervened. As the truth emerges, why would anyone believe the stories fed to the mainstream media by the War Hawks, given the ample evidence that they are serial liars when it comes to psychological warfare measures to promote wars and regime change?

March 8, 2022—As forecast with awesome precision by Lyndon LaRouche 10 years ago in a webcast, NATO is crashing the global financial system and the economy all around us, through a world war against Russia. LaRouche broadcast in December 2011, when the regime-change wars had reached the stage of the murder of Colonel Qaddafi of Libya, that “What is intended [by these wars] is a confrontation with Russia, the principal nuclear power on this planet.” London and Washington were threatening world war, he said.The reason? “Most of this bailout debt, the Wall Street debt, the London debt, is unpayable,” LaRouche said. “It is absolutely worthless. It can never be repaid. And the only solution for this thing was to have this war. And if the British Empire came out as the victor in such a war, with the support of the United States, then they would cancel their debts, and they would go about their business. But the population of the world would be reduced, greatly, through hunger, disease, and so forth.” Led by London, Wall Street and Washington, NATO is bringing the world economy down willfully and deliberately, although with “unintentional” and disastrous consequences. Major European governments, particularly Germany’s, fear telling their people that Russia’s [unsanctioned] energy exports to Europe are banned. But they are banned in effect, by intimidation of any company that would think of buying Russian petrochemicals. See the abject apologies of Shell Oil after it dared make an oil purchase. The same is true for metals and fertilizers; Russia is a huge exporter of both. It is possible, even likely, that within a week all Russian exports of natural gas, oil, and fertilizers to Europe and the United States will have stopped. Fossil fuel prices made another huge jump over the weekend into Monday morning, reaching $125 for West Texas Intermediate oil and in Europe 375 euros/MwH (or roughly $3,900 per thousand cubic meters) for natural gas, although they then lost a part of those increases. As for coal, “Monday’s price for thermal coal, used to produce electricity in coal-fired power plants, was $435 a ton. According to Jason Bostic, Vice-President of the West Virginia Coal Association, that’s the highest price in history, by about $200,” reported the West Virginia MetroNews. Over a 48-hour period, the futures prices of half a dozen important metals, and all petrochemicals, have risen by 50-100% each. This cannot happen without hundreds, perhaps thousands of major corporations and banks receiving margin calls because their hedged short positions must be closed out at very great loss. To give an idea of who is unable to pay current margin calls: Peabody Coal, the biggest coal company of all, and it is in formal default as a result; and the China Construction Bank, one of the four biggest state commercial banks in China, which got a grace period of a few days from the London Metals Exchange to try to pay an obviously huge margin call. In addition, a food shock has hit, due to scarcity, which may send food commodity prices up another 50% and spread famine worldwide. The market for financing oil and gas trading is reportedly losing liquidity. Credit default swaps (CDS) on Russian debts are now reportedly considered unlikely to pay out as those debts default; CDS of non-Russian companies linked to the same commodities have suddenly jumped in price, requiring more margin calls. Most Russian commodities like metals have become unacceptable as collateral for any company’s trading credits, meaning those credits must be repaid—more margin calls. In spite of immense amounts of Fed-printed liquidity, the interest rate for borrowing against commercial paper rose by 0.5% on Monday. The repo market expert Zoltan Poszar continues his daily assertions that the interbank lending market is starting to seize up as it did in mid-September 2019, requiring emergency liquidity of hundreds of billions from the Fed. The futures prices will fall back from current unbelievable levels. But the underlying commodity prices will keep marching upward, and the cracks in the international debt and trade credit system will widen until they explode the credit markets. There is one way out: Fast “Glass-Steagall” bank separation, capital and exchange controls by nations; and establishment of “Hamiltonian” national credit banks in every nation.
The Trans-Atlantic so-called democracies have not just launched economic warfare against Russia -- they have declared economic war against their own populations! The sanctions against Russia, which are expanding daily, are already having a disastrous impact in the west, accelerating soaring prices for fuel, heating and food. March 7 (EIRNS)—Helga Zepp-LaRouche was one on a panel of three guests on CGTN’s Dialogue broadcast today, responding to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s annual press conference, which lasted at least 90 minutes. The other guests were Peter Kuznick of American University and Prof. Victor Gao Zhikai of Soochow University; the hostess was Li Quiyuan. The discussion focused on China’s role in bringing peace especially in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, but most importantly to the world as a whole. The half-hour panel discussion is posted on the Dialogue program at 15:30 today. Here are the exchanges between Ms. Li and Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche.CGTN: And Mrs. LaRouche, let me get your take on this: What sort of key messages did you pick up from Foreign Minister Wang’s press conference? HELGA ZEPP-LAROUCHE: I was actually very happy with the tone, because it was like a return of sanity. This is in stark contrast to the atmosphere in the European and American media and politics in the recent days. And I think the focus on solving problems through diplomacy, on upholding the principles of the UN Charter and having a general attitude toward problem solving through cooperation, I think this was really a breath of fresh air. And I’m very, very encouraged because China is really taking a leadership role in the world right now, which is badly needed. CGTN: The Foreign Minister did say, and I’m quoting his words, “China would like to work alongside with international community to facilitate talks when needed,” although he did not specifically say in what ways. But China did stress the importance of keeping dialogue open all the way. Another question being raised by reporters at the press conference is whether this conflict or this crisis in Ukraine would impact China-EU relations. So Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche, let me get your take on this? There’s some concern that this conflict will affect this relationship between China and the bloc. The foreign minister said dialogue and cooperation between China and Europe are on the basis of mutual respect and mutual benefit and that will provide more stability to the turbulent world situation. And he’s also urging the European Union to form an independent China policy. What do you make of this comment? ZEPP-LAROUCHE: I think the situation is very severe, because, for example, the trade between the EU and China, which was a pillar of the world economy so far, is threatened by what is happening between Ukraine and Russia. So I think the sentiment in Europe right now is really terrible, and I can only say that what the foreign minister is giving some hope that new ways can be found. And I really think that the model of Chinese policy, the shared future of a joint future of humanity, I think, is what is needed right now in my view, and I think Professor Kuznick is right in stressing the urgency of the question, you need something completely different. If we continue geopolitics as it has been done in the past, it is a question of time when humanity is crashing against the wall, and it could lead to a nuclear extinction. So I think the model which would fit perfectly, the shared community of the one humanity, would be to convoke a conference, an international conference to take care of the security interests of every single country on the planet. Because you cannot have a peace order without taking care of the interests of every country, and there is a model in European history, that is the Peace of Westphalia. The Peace of Westphalia ended 150 years of religious war, culminating in the Thirty Years’ War, and it was based on the recognition of all war parties that if the war would continue there would be nobody left to enjoy the result. And this is in a certain sense a parallel situation to the one we are facing today, because if it comes to a nuclear war there will be no winner, there will be nobody left to even comment on the result. So I think that should be a motivation to convoke a new Peace of Westphalia conference with the specific aim to conduct an international new security architecture, which would include Russia, include China, and I think this would be in perfect spirit with the policy of President Xi Jinping about the shared community of mankind and the one future we all have. CGTN: China is hosting this year’s BRICS summit. The APEC and G20 would also be held in Asia this year. The Foreign Minister said, “Asia’s time has come in global governance,” and “it would transform from followers to front-runners and even pacesetters.” Mrs. LaRouche let me get your take on this: These are very strong words coming from the foreign minister. What do you make of his assessment here? ZEPP-LAROUCHE: I think it’s absolutely to the point, because the Asian countries in general, not just China, but also some other Asian countries, are very conscious of their 5,000-year-old history, and from that standpoint of a positive tradition they define a future, and they want to develop. And this is the common idea of the BRICS, the SCO, and even other organizations, and that is in stark contrast to Europe and the United States. And I think the idea of a new model of international relations, if these organizations, even if it would be brought into the G20, the idea that you need a new model of international relations which has been stressed by Wang Yi today again, that should be filled with content. Because I think we have either the choice of ending up in a geopolitical confrontation which would be to the detriment of everybody and possible nuclear war, or, we make a jump in the evolution of civilization by defining the international relations, in a certain sense in the tradition of the Non-Aligned Movement, the Bandung Conference, the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence of the UN Charter; but also giving it the vision of solving together the main problems of humanity, such as, that we still have a pandemic, we need a modern health system in every single country to defeat this pandemic and the danger of new ones. We have a world famine of, as Beasley from the World Food Program always says, “of biblical dimensions”: This will get bigger because of the inflation of food prices, of fertilizer, of energy prices. So there is an urgent agenda. And I think if this year could be used to say, we need a new model of international relations which overcomes geopolitics: Foreign Minister Wang Yi and also President Xi Jinping have made references by saying, why not have the Belt and Road Initiative cooperate with the Build Back Better initiative of the United States and the Global Gateway of the European Union. So if these initiatives, rather than being in a competition, be streamlined and say, let’s address together that which is stressing all of mankind, world hunger, epidemics, the poverty—with the present financial system of the trans-Atlantic sector going completely out of whack, we are facing a new collapse much worse than 2008. The Federal Reserve was not able to “taper” the interest rate, because they’re afraid if they increase the interest rate they will have a mass collapse of bankruptcies. So there is an urgent need to have a new financial system, a New Bretton Woods system, a new credit system which provides credit for development of all developing countries—these are some of the points which really will be the test of humanity. Can we, when we face fundamental challenges, give ourselves an order which allows the survival, and happiness, of all people on this planet? I think that will be the agenda.

March 6—The facts regarding the multiple fascist organizations in positions of influence in Ukraine since the 2014 coup has generally been kept out of the Western press, although a number of independent journalists and several Israeli institutions have documented (and strongly objected) to the fact that these Nazis were not only tolerated by the Ukraine government, but in fact had power over many aspects of policy—and, this was accepted by Kiev’s controllers in London and Washington. This intention was crushed by the Nazis, who threated to orchestrate another coup, that Zelenskyy “would lose his life—he will hang on some tree” in Kiev if he were to implement any part of the Minsk Agreement or stop the war on the Donbas republics. For fear or for incompetence, Zelenskyy capitulated, and now is calling for NATO to intervene, to create a no-fly zone, which is a call for a NATO war with Russia. Every military and political figure who is not totally insane has insisted that such a war could mean the annihilation of the human race. There is no reason for war. PDF March 5—On Thursday, March 3, the Russian international television network RT ran an hour-long documentary, “Donbas: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,” which had been produced in 2021, showing: the role of the neo-Nazi killers supporting the 2014 Maidan coup against the elected government; the genocide in Odessa when the Nazis barricaded pro-government organizers in the Trade Union Building and burned them alive, shooting those who tried to jump out the windows; the outlawing of the use of the Russian language in numerous ways; the massive bombardment of the Donbas when the citizens there held a referendum declaring independence from the new pro-Nazi government imposed by the United States; the years of shelling from the Ukraine Army and the Nazi Azov Brigade over the past eight years, killing 14,000 men, women and children; and scenes from the past years as the NATO countries refused to put any pressure on Kiev to implement the Minsk 2 agreement, which would have ended the war.The next day, the RT network was shut down in the United States, as it had already been in the U.K. and EU. Americans will not be allowed to hear a view from Russia. In some European countries, it is considered a crime to defend Russia, while the U.S., U.K. and EU governments and media peddle massive lies about the events in Ukraine and Russia.
