In the incoming German government there are two 'Green' Party ministers—Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and Economics and Energy Minister Robert Habeck—who epitomize a grave threat also emanating from others in governments across the trans-Atlantic nations. With one hand they are anti-carbon climate extremists, who demand sacrifice of the economy—reliable power, heat, livestock growing, farming, industry and all—to "the planet"; with the other, they demand war preparations and diplomatic and military confrontations with Russia and China, two of the major nations that refuse to sacrifice their economies to "the planet." At a much higher level than these two new ministers, among the financial oligarchy whose centers are the City of London and Wall Street, there are the likes of British central banker and now UN envoy for Climate Action and Finance Mark Carney, who organizes bankers publicly to order companies—"Get out of fossil fuels and carbon or disappear." Carney's close "Green Deal" colleagues and friends are Prince Charles, Sir Michael Bloomberg and like billionaires, for whom President Joe Biden spoke at the "FLOP26" so-called climate summit in Glasgow, when he said that China's President Xi and Russia's Putin "would have to answer to the world for not showing up" at that summit. Biden and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, along with the elites of the Atlantic Council, Chatham House/Royal Institute of International Affairs, focus their confrontations and provocations on the claim that Russia's about to invade Ukraine, and China is about to attack Taiwan. But the more and more obvious failure of the "Green New Deal" and the threat of energy hyperinflation and financial crisis, makes them take blaming adversaries for that failure to its extreme—which may bring on war. As former Army Colonel and former Virginia State Senator Richard Black warned yesterday, either of these confrontations could become nuclear war. Just at this crisis point, a Nov. 30-dated report from the New York Federal Reserve Bank began to acknowledge that the very strategy associated with banker Carney and Prince Charles—"shifting the trillions" of investment funds out of all carbon-related industries and into a green finance wave, or bubble—is hastening the global banking crisis they are afraid of. The report, "How Bad Are Weather Disasters for Banks?" found that these disasters are not bad for larger banks at all, to put it mildly. But more seriously for the Carney-Bloomberg "shift the trillions" cabal, the report concluded that "our findings suggest that potential transition risks from climate change warrant more attention than physical disaster risks." We emphasize "transition risks" because "the fundamental transition" has become the underhand for Green New Deal among Prince Charles/Carney forces. Here is Charles at Glasgow: "What is needed is a vast military-style campaign to marshal the strength of the global private sector. With trillions at its disposal ... it offers the only real prospect of achieving fundamental economic transition." Now the International Energy Agency, a creation of the Davos World Economic Forum, has upped its already economically absurd "forecast" of global additions to electric power capacity in the next five years, to say that 95% of it will be wind, solar and biomass electricity. Back in 2018 the London Guardian, writing about then- Bank of England Governor Carney, observed that "climate risk" for many companies was the risk that Carney's carbon-disclosure bank committees would go after those companies and force them to go green or face disinvestment or bankruptcy. Now, the New York Fed admits "banks could face outsized losses" from the "transition to a low-carbon economy"—in other words, from the Green New Deal. These findings are summed up in a Dec. 2 op-ed by Michael Shellenberger, "The Real Threat To Banks Isn't From Climate Change: It's From Bankers," featuring Mark Carney on its cover photo. That is exactly the direction from which a banking crisis and financial crash are now coming. For a decade, central banks have been printing money to inflate away the vast "everything bubble" of primarily corporate debt since the 2008 crash. It didn't work until the addition of the Green New Deal, the drive to "shift the trillions" to unreliable and anti-productive zero-carbon technologies, which are unleashing hyperinflation and chaos. So the financial elite and political leaders driven by them want to distract with anger, hatred, in some cases even hysteria against the adversaries, Russia and especially China, which continue to push for economic development in underdeveloped countries as well as at home, and which stiffen resistance in the developing world to "climate colonialism." Now, as Helga Zepp-LaRouche said today, we go to a Putin-Biden videoconference "summit" tomorrow midway between peace and war, "that gives you an idea how close we are actually to a brushfire which could go all the way up to nuclear war." Insisting on development in the countries which have suffered the worst crimes from the war party—she is focused on Afghanistan—is the way to fight that threat.

Blinken Demands UN Security Council Accept Climate Change as Global Security Threat Sept. 24 (EIRNS)—Secretary of State Tony Blinken used his address yesterday at the UN Security Council’s special meeting on climate and security to try to ram down the throats of member nations the argument that the “climate crisis” is the pressing global security issue to be addressed by that body, as it is supposedly the cause of every major problem on the planet. Not all present agreed, as we report further. The day before his speech, on Sept. 22, a “senior State Department official” gave a media briefing explaining why climate change is an appropriate issue to be discussed at the UNSC, since it stokes tensions within and between nations, causes conflict and migrations and is responsible for extreme weather events which destabilize nations. This official could barely contain her enthusiasm when one reporter referred to Haitian migrants at the U.S. border as “environmental refugees.” While getting the UNSC to pass a resolution on climate as a security threat isn’t likely, she admitted, the U.S. wanted to introduce the topic to put it on the UNSC’s “radar screen.” In his remarks yesterday, Blinken emphasized that the climate crisis is the core element of U.S. foreign policy. Extreme weather events underscore the “urgent need” to dramatically reduce emissions, and help others “to do their part,” he said. Among the ways in which he proposed the UNSC could play a vital role, a major one would be to stop the debate over whether the climate crisis should be discussed at the UNSC and ask instead how the UNSC can “leverage its unique powers to tackle the negative impacts of climate on peace and security.” Anywhere in the world where there are threats to peace and security, “you’ll find that climate change is making things less peaceful, less secure.” That’s true in Syria, Mali, Yemen, South Sudan, Ethiopia, etc. he said. Blinken’s punchline was that the only way to deal with this crisis was for the world to accept Malthusian depopulation policies. Rather than view the situation just through the lens of threats posed by the climate crisis, he warned, what’s needed is “immediate, bold actions to build resilience, to adapt to the unavoidable impacts, and move swiftly to a net-zero world.” This, he gravely intoned, is the shared charge of COP26. If the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5° C is to be reached, “every nation will need to bring their highest possible ambitions to the table.” This current situation, Blinken concluded, offers an “unprecedented opportunity” for all nations to embrace fully the zero-growth, zero-people green boondoggle, which he cloaked in the promise to provide greater access to “affordable, clean energy; to build green infrastructure; to create good-paying jobs,” spur long-term economic growth and “improve the lives of people around the world.” (https://www.state.gov/secretary-antony-j-blinken-at-un-security-council-meeting-on-climate-and-security/) [crr] Russia and India Object to ‘Climate Security’ Debate at the UN Security Council Sept. 24 (EIRNS)—Secretary of State Tony Blinken’s absurd remarks yesterday pressing the UN Security Council to take up the issue of climate change as the greatest threat to the planet did not go unopposed. “To view conflict in poorer parts of the world through the prism of climate change would only serve to present a lopsided narrative when the reasons for the conflict are to be found elsewhere,” stated an Indian official, according to the Economic Times. Secretary (West) Reenat Sandhu of the Ministry of External Affairs says that viewing conflicts in poorer nations through the prism of climate change is not useful. Climate change is being discussed in a focused way at the UN through a variety of different agencies and mechanisms have been put in place for further action, she stressed. So, “picking one aspect of climate change, namely climate security, and dealing with it in this forum, which is not geared to tackle a multi-faceted problem of this nature, would not be desirable.” In any discussion of the issue of climate and security, she underscored, care must be taken “not to create a parallel climate track. We have to continue on the path of inclusive decision-making.” (https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/india/bringing-climate-security-into-unsc-discourse-has-potential-to-disrupt-nature-of-overall-discussions-india/articleshow/86459647.cms) First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian UN Mission Dmitry Polyanskiy said the U.S. was trying to “formalize the issue of climate change on the agenda of the Security Council,” and that “we have a question here. How efficient is this in terms of solving [the UNSC’s] existing tasks?” TASS reported him as saying: “We are convinced that persistent attempts to advance climate change to the UN Security Council agenda at all costs as a threat to international peace and security add a totally unnecessary political component to this already complicated and sensitive discussion. This approach may result in lopsided and inefficient proposals from the point of view of the strengthening of stability in the world,” he warned. His complete remarks are posted on the UN Mission website. (https://russiaun.ru/en/news/sc_230921) [crr]

Austrian Greens Charged with Dreaming of Going Back to the Stone Age Aug. 3, 2021 (EIRNS)—The Greens of Austria are stirred up by recent remarks made by the country’s Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, telling them “it would be totally wrong to believe that we could save the climate in the future by asceticism… the only right approach is to rely on innovation and technology.” “I do not share at all the view that our direction should be going back to the Stone Age,” Kurz said, adding that he opposed the continuous lecturing by greenies on what to do, and that he rejected “fantasies that one could somehow live as in the past century.”

As the globalists among British Royals and the Davos billionaires move ahead with their genocidal plans for a Green New Deal (GND), in coordination with U.S. and E.U. officials, the resistance to this insanity grows. Russia and China are rejecting this population reduction nonsense; state governments in the U.S. are moving to overturn the rules being pushed to enforce the GND; and leading Africans are warning that imposing the GND on the continent will prevent essential economic growth from occurring. Get the truth: Read EIR's "Great Leap Backwards". And participate in the Schiller Institute conference

As a powerful polar vortex brought freezing weather to much of the United States, the Texas electricity grid was "within seconds or minutes" away from a "catastrophic failure and complete blackout," on February 16, had they not decided to implement controlled outages, according to an official from the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), the company which manages the grid. The rolling blackouts which occurred as a result of that decision meant that more than four million customers in Texas were without electricity and heat for hours at a time, and half the counties in the state reported water problems due to power loss at water treatment facilities. As of February 19, there were reports of more than thirty-six deaths related to the storm and the loss of power, and 600,000 were still without power. Nearly a quarter of the state's population remains under orders to boil water before using it, if they have access to water at all. How did this happen in Texas, which is the largest producer and consumer of energy in the U.S., and in Houston, which is home to 5,000 energy-related firms and calls itself the Energy Capital of the World? There are two factors which led to the breakdown of Texas' energy sector, neither of which are acknowledged by the media and the so-called experts: the unreliability of "renewable" sources of energy, such as wind and solar; and the long-term effects of the neoliberal policy of deregulation, which puts speculative profits ahead of the necessary, continuous investment in infrastructure required to sustain a modern electricity grid. The closest the apologists for the present collapsing system come to recognizing the dangers caused by this deadly combination is to describe ERCOT as "unprepared" for the crisis, by which they mean that the real problem is the grid managers did not anticipate a storm of this magnitude hitting Texas. While this is true, they refuse to discuss WHY they were unprepared! On the breakdown of so-called renewable sources, there is total denial, as the financial oligarchy, represented by the Davos billionaires of the World Economic Forum, is plunging ahead with a global "Green New Deal" (GND). Texas now gets 23% of its electricity from wind. As the cold wave hit, the total electricity produced by wind turbines fell from more than 8,000 megawatts on Sunday, to 649 megawatts by Monday. Both Texas Governor Greg Abbott, and Rick Perry, the former Governor and U.S. Energy Secretary under President Trump, identified the failure of "renewable" sources as a major cause of the breakdown of the electricity grid, citing frozen wind turbines and snow-covered solar panels as a major contributing factor. In response, there has been a predictable hysterical outcry from pro-Green networks, insisting that this played only a "minor role" in the crisis. Typical of this reaction is an article in the February 18 New Yorker magazine by Greenie huckster Bill McKibben, "Blaming The Wind for the Mess in Texas Is Painfully Absurd." Despite wide circulation of photos of idle windmills, with icicles hanging from the blades, McKibben writes that "The idea that wind turbines cannot deal with cold weather is, prima facie, ridiculous." As for the effects of deregulation, which is also a central feature of the "Great Reset" of the Davos gang, there has been a wall of silence, including among "conservatives" who are "free market" advocates, many of whom correctly identify the devastating effects of Green policies, but are wedded to the neoliberal economic policies which have led to disinvestment in all platforms of infrastructure. The Fraud of the Green New Deal The Executive Intelligence Review released on February 12 what has proven to be a prescient report on the potentially devastating effects of a global shift to the "zero carbon" world demanded by those who swear by the Fake Science behind the demand for a transition to lower energy-flux-density production, allegedly to reduce carbon emissions. Titled "The Great Leap Backward: LaRouche Exposes the Green New Deal", the report draws on the five decades of scientific and economic research conducted by Lyndon LaRouche and his associates on the genocidal intent of those financial and corporate cartel officials — represented today by the Davos billionaires — who revived the quackery of the British Empire's Parson Malthus, to reverse the scientific and technological optimism unleashed by the U.S. space program of President Kennedy. The report includes details on the direct role of the British monarchy, under Prince Charles, in coordinating financial hit teams to cut off investment in physical goods production, in favor of creating a Green financial bubble, to bail out a bankrupt financial system. It exposes the relationship between the "Great Reset", a plan to place governments under the top-down control of central banks, which operate on behalf of the largest private banks and shadow banking institutions, and the GND. At the recent Davos online conference, a representative of BlackRock, the world's largest fund manager, and the initiator of a project for a global "financial regime change", spoke of a pool of $30 to $50 trillion, of central bank and private funds, which would flow into the Green financial bubble, while deliberately shutting down credit generation for productive enterprises, which are identified as deadly carbon polluters. A report produced by Chatham House, a "policy institute" connected to British intelligence, specified which industries should be red-lined by investors, so as to deny them credit in order to reduce the economy's "carbon footprint." These include investment in coal, oil and gas, and nuclear energy; cement, steel, aluminum and chemical manufacturing; and ships, planes and trucks. The report also advocates an end to eating meat, to be replaced by eating only plants.
