Dec. 24, 2024 (EIRNS)—Will this Christmas season be the optimum time for the U.S. intelligence community to sabotage U.S.-Russian relations in the upcoming Trump administration? This is exactly what was done eight years ago. Let’s take a quick look at a Christmas past.
Dec. 12, 2024 (EIRNS)—On Nov. 21, the Russian military hurled a very loud message at Washington, D.C., when their new hypersonic ballistic Oreshnik missile hit a military-industrial site in Dnipro, Ukraine, coming in at breathtaking speeds, far faster than any present-day air defense system is capable of dealing with. And, of note, it proved that it hits where it is aimed.
Dec. 8, 2024 (EIRNS)—The message from the historic weekend Schiller Institute conference, “In the Spirit of Schiller and Beethoven: All Men Become Brethren!” was loud and clear. The world is at a “punctum saliens”’ where hard work over the Institute’s forty years has created a real breakout possibility for the world to break the cycle of underdevelopment, poverty and constant warfare. Today’s third panel, “The Science Drivers of Physical Economy”, laid out the very real development projects and method of thinking for the way forward. (The transcripts of Panel 3’s speeches are in this briefing in Documentation.) And the fourth panel, “The Beauty of the Cultures of the World: A Dialogue Among Civilizations”, posed the thoroughgoing classical statecraft of Lyndon LaRouche, the motor behind the developments that make for a pathway out of war and genocide.
Dec. 5, 2024 (EIRNS)—What is it that allows a global security architecture to stop wars and genocide? And is it a practical alternative to all the dirty games, the physical and mental violence, to muscle countries into the sacrifices required to keep financial speculation going another day?
Nov. 25, 2024 (EIRNS)—Four days have passed since Russia delivered their unexpected answer to the West’s latest escalation. The launching of U.S. ATACMS missiles, targeted and guided by U.S. forces, into undisputed Russian territory last week was supposed to be part of a pre-rigged game, where the geopoliticians have calculated that they can take the next step in degrading and breaking Russia. After all, the reasoning goes, we can keep ratcheting up the pressure on Russia and they would never go to a nuclear exchange, cause they would lose everything. But Russia unleashed not a nuclear bomb, but a new hypersonic missile with remarkable precision, that indeed could have carried a nuclear bomb.
Nov. 14, 2024 (EIRNS)—There’s a very real idea that people are going to have to wrap their minds around, if they want a pathway out of thermonuclear confrontation. It is the matter of nations, with different situations, characteristics and problems, having a higher basis for benefiting from interactions with other nations. Do nations actually become better, become more of what they are uniquely capable of being, by their cultural, scientific and economic exchanges?
Nov. 7, 2024 (EIRNS)—Was it that easy? Russian President Vladimir Putin answered a question today, whether he would talk with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump; and he says he would. Then he adds that he is not above reaching out first to Trump. And an hour later, Trump says that he thinks the two of them will be talking.
Nov. 3, 2024 (EIRNS)—Halloween is over and now comes the U.S. presidential election. Recent elections in Germany, France, Hungary, Slovakia, Georgia and today in Moldova have delivered a thunderous message, that anyone associated with the de-industrialization and “permanent war” policies of the West is to be treated rudely by the electorate. Whatever would be running a “collective Kamala” administration, it smells of the same brand, loyal to putting financial derivative bubbles first and subjects of proxy wars last.
Oct. 29, 2024 (EIRNS)—It is a foregone conclusion that the least of two evils in the U.S. presidential election will not be capable, left to their own devices, of taking the simple step of having the country step away from addiction to a “gambling casino” economy, and embrace the economic mobilization of science, industry, and agriculture found in the new Global Majority of the BRICS. If they are left to their own devices, one could perhaps dodge a thermonuclear confrontation over Ukraine and stumble into one over Israel, or vice versa; or if the collapse of the dollar should occur before an explosion in Ukraine or Israel, then a nuclear conflagration could erupt without the use of a proxy.
Oct. 21, 2024 (EIRNS)—On Tuesday, Oct. 22, the nine nations of the BRICS, along with most of the 30 nations that have applied to join the BRICS, will convene in Kazan, Russia. On the first day, President Vladimir Putin will meet with China’s President President Xi Jinping and India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Of special note, China and India agreed today to settle the border violence of 2020 that has kept them from collaborating as fully as possible on much larger issues, such as a new financial system that penalizes speculative games and promotes trade and development. Over the three days of the BRICS summit, host Vladimir Putin plans to meet personally with each of the other 19 heads of state or government in attendance.
Oct. 16, 2024 (EIRNS)—One year ago, the Netanyahu gang initiated what can only be called a population war upon the civilians of Gaza. The civilians went from an average of 500 trucks/day of food, water and medicine, for the 2.3 million residents, to zero. That was the centerpiece of the naked policy of driving all Palestinians out of Gaza, an explicit policy of the “Eretz Yisrael” (“Greater Israel”) gang. Weeks went by before international pressure resulted in a handful of trucks being allowed in, and that over the strenuous objections of Netanyahu’s front men, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.
Oct. 8, 2024 (EIRNS)—This Saturday’s showdown at Ramstein, Germany of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, just had the rug pulled out from underneath it. Early this afternoon, the White House issued a terse announcement that President Biden canceled his trip. The official reason is that he is needed to deal with the impending landing in Florida of Hurricane Milton.
Oct. 3, 2024 (EIRNS)—Today the Chief of Staff of Iran’s armed forces, Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, explained for anyone who cared to hear, what their Tuesday, Oct. 1 attack on Israel was about: “After Martyr Haniyeh’s assassination, Iran went through a tough period of self-restraint amid repeated requests by the Americans and Europeans, who would ask us to exercise self-restraint so they would establish a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.” However, Israel’s constant provocations undermined the process, and the assassination of Hezbollah head Hassan Nasrallah was the last straw. So, Bagheri explained that Tehran took a measured action: Iran targeted the “center for terrorism,” the Mossad spy agency; the Nevatim air base, which houses Israel’s F-35s; and the Hatzerim base, which had enabled the assassination of Nasrallah. Further, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in the hours after Iran’s Oct. 1 launching of missiles, clearly explained to European foreign ministers that Iran had sent its message, a lawful response, and that they were finished—unless Israel “plans retaliation.”
Oct. 2, 2024 (EIRNS)—The world now stands on the brink of a U.S.-Russia nuclear war being triggered not only in the Ukraine theater, but in Southwest Asia as well.
Sept. 29, 2024 (EIRNS)—Whatever team is making decisions at the White House, this “collective Joe” grouping has, on two recent occasions, apparently turned down the opportunity to go full “flight-forward,” when confronted with the matter of firing Western long-range missiles deep into Russia. On Sept. 13, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer came to muscle Biden on the matter, and on Sept. 26, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy attempted his unique form of charm on the White House. On both occasions, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin had sent a loud and clear message the day before, that Moscow was in no mood to play games, where Ukrainian proxies have their “’label” on the launching of U.S., British and French long-range missiles deep into Russia.
Sept. 26, 2024 (EIRNS)—Russia’s proposed new nuclear doctrine, presented yesterday by President Vladimir Putin, is targeted directly at the predominant “Anglosphere” fantasy, that they can use nuclear blackmail against Russia, putting missiles closer and closer to reach of Moscow, but incurring no risk to London or Washington. Moscow, in this fantasy, is supposed to play along with the narrative that non-nuclear countries are really the ones launching long-range missiles deep into Russia.
Sept. 19, 2024 (EIRNS)—It’s a simple argument, or fantasy. If you never flinch, and just keep bluffing your opponent, doubling- and tripling-down on threats, sooner or later they will have to bend to your will.
Sept. 6, 2024 (EIRNS)—A portion of the concluding statement of the remarkable discussion of the International Peace Coalition (IPC), made by Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche, hit the nail on the head. The session, entitled the “New U.S. Nuclear Doctrine: Reason for the World to Worry,” first laid out the severely advanced nature of the thermonuclear confrontation.
Aug. 30, 2024 (EIRNS)—There are financial and military factions in the West committed to submitting the world to the austerity necessary to extend the impossible financial bubble and to submitting to thermonuclear blackmail with a first-strike nuclear war doctrine. It has everything to do with why London and Washington “dance with the devil,” using their proxy warmongers, Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The fact that this is not pleasant news does not chase away the problem.
Aug. 20, 2024 (EIRNS)—Washington attempted to placate Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last week, assuring him that his avowed concern over the smuggling of weapons through tunnels from Egypt into Gaza did not mean that Israeli troops had to be exempted from an agreed-upon withdrawal and ceasefire, and had to stay on duty on the Gaza border. Rather, the U.S. would offer to patrol the border, along with Egypt. Never mind that Netanyahu was, yet again, putting up one more barrier to any agreement to return the hostages and begin a ceasefire—a barrier to be replaced by another, if circumstances dictated.
Aug. 12, 2024 (EIRNS)—Last night, a fire broke out at a cooling tower at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant in Russia. It had been hit by Ukrainian drones, this time causing more damage than any of the many attacks upon the plant over the last two and a half years. Not properly appreciated is that Russia has deprived itself of the energy from the plant for most of its time there, as the Ukrainian shelling doesn’t allow for the safe management of active nuclear reactors. The six reactors have been in a “cold” state for quite a while.
