Aug. 23—It was the perfect metaphor for the rising power of the Global Majority in its unstoppable drive to put an end to 500 years of colonial-style economic looting, backwardness and wars.

Aug. 18—In the midst of the NATO-orchestrated war that was launched, in fact, to destroy the Russian nation-state and its economic power, Vladimir Putin on Thursday, Aug. 17, spoke of building three high-speed rail lines: one between St. Petersburg and Moscow; one between Minsk and Moscow; and a third, connecting Sochi and Moscow. This internal improvements approach, echoing that of both Alexander Hamilton and Franklin Roosevelt, will require other internal changes, including financial changes, which, if implemented, will serve as an example to other nations, including developing economies in Africa, for how to end colonialism once and for all.

Aug. 16—In less than a week, high-level representatives from over 65 developing sector nations, sometimes referred to as the Global Majority, will gather in Johannesburg, South Africa, under the auspices of the 15th BRICS heads of state and government summit.

Aug. 6—A stunning chorus of voices form around the world sang out on Sunday Aug. 6, the 78th anniversary of the barbaric bombing of Hiroshima, from dozens of parallel “Humanity for Peace” rallies across Europe, Ibero-America and the United States, led by a flagship rally in Dag Hammarskjold Plaza in front of the United Nations in New York City, demanding peace and a new international security architecture that protects the interests of all nations, large and small.

Aug. 2—While London and Washington remained obsessed with their NATO frontal assault on Russia in the Ukraine theater, sinking further into the bog of an unwinnable land war that leaves only the nuclear option available, Russia turned the strategic flank with its just-concluded Russia-Africa Forum in St. Petersburg. Along with its Chinese allies, Russia is fully incorporating Africa into the emerging new global development architecture being built around the Belt and Road Initiative, the BRICS-Plus and associated groupings.

July 29—It may be hot and sultry outdoors, but the pace of strategically decisive events is only quickening on all fronts, so don’t look for there to be any dog days of Summer—or Fall, for that matter.

July 22—London and Washington may think that they scored a victory by creating security threats that have prevented Russian President Vladimir Putin from participating in person in the Aug. 22-24 BRICS summit in South Africa, but Russia’s policy related to the BRICS has not been diminished nor derailed. Russian spokesmen stated over the last 48 hours that the issue of non-dollar trade settlement mechanisms will be on the agenda for the upcoming summit, and that they expect the 2024 BRICS summit—hosted by Russia in Kazan—to see the number of participants grow beyond the current five members.

July 22—In her weekly column for the newspaper of Germany’s Bueso party, Neue Solidarität, Helga Zepp-LaRouche sounds the alarm over the onrushing destruction of Germany due to its adherence to the policy insanity of the trans-Atlantic financial Establishment. What she describes for Germany applies equally to the United States and, in fact, the entire so-called West.

July 19—It is now one week after the July 11-12 NATO Summit in Vilnius, Lithuania. During this past week, the British-steered NATO apparatus has issued two discernible policy statements on where they intend to take the Ukraine war, to punctuate their resolution coming off Vilnius. The first took the form of a drone attack on Russia’s Kerch Strait bridge, which produced modest structural damage and killed two civilians.

July 4—The 23rd Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit concluded its one-day video-conference meeting on July 4 under Indian chairmanship, with the participation of Narendra Modi of India, Xi Jinping of China, and Vladimir Putin of Russia, as well as the leaders of Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. A ninth member was admitted to the SCO at the meeting: Iran.
