May 27, 2025 (EIRNS)—In the last 36 hours, the new German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has announced that Germany, France, the U.S. and the U.K. have all eliminated any limits on the range of missiles to be fired by Ukraine into Russia. Shortly after that, his Vice Chancellor announced that this was not the policy, and after that Merz changed his tune, and said that this wasn’t a new policy, and he was referring to something from before, when Biden was President.
President Trump wrote this morning on Truth Social “What Vladimir Putin doesn’t realize is that if it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD. He’s playing with fire!”
Do these leaders have any idea how the rest of the world hears their words? Their words are heard as sounding brass and tinkling cymbals, full of sound and fury signifying nothing, except that their speakers have no understanding of the principles of natural law and are therefore incapable of delivering on either their threats or their promises.
One such foolish promise which President Trump may actually believe will make the world safer, is his proposed “Golden Dome.” Contrary to the wishful thinking of some of Lyndon LaRouche’s former associates, Trump’s policy is the opposite of the LaRouche-Reagan SDI, which was intended to be a joint effort of the United States and the Soviet Union, to not only “render nuclear missiles impotent and obsolete” as Reagan said, but to be a science driver, whose implementation would require the discovery of new physical principles which could be integrated into every sphere of human economy. The idea was a shared mission of supposedly adversarial powers that would benefit mankind as a whole.
Trump’s “Golden Dome” is not only unlikely to protect the United States, given the remarkable advances in Russian hypersonic missiles, but nuclear weapons expert Dr. Theodore Postol believes it will lead to a new arms race, actually greatly increasing the risk of thermonuclear war.
He and Schiller Institute Founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche will be discussing this matter on May 28 at 11 a.m. EDT in a webcast that might well be considered a continuation of the remarkable Schiller Institute conference held just over this past May 24-25 weekend.
It is impossible to end war, unless one has an image of what peace looks like. That was beautifully developed at the conference this past weekend. The world should know that it’s time to listen to the wise words of Lyndon LaRouche.
