Creative Reason Makes the Impossible, Possible; Learn How with the Schiller Institute Conference
By Jason RossMay 26, 2025 (EIRNS)—The human ability to surpass our senses (and our extended sensorium), by hypothesizing the unsensed causes that shape the space in which processes unfold, separates our species absolutely from all others.
While the prevailing world order does not take this unique quality as its starting point, the Schiller Institute conference this weekend placed front and center that fact that “our creative reason is capable of always finding a solution to any problem on a higher plane,” as Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche said on Saturday, May 24.
The full conference proceedings are well worth reviewing!
A few notes on the current strategic situation:
• Russia and “Ukraine” (or whoever is making the decisions about its military actions) are trading drone attacks, and Russia appears to be moving ahead in this space. Russia’s massive retaliatory response to Ukraine’s launch of hundreds of drones into Russia, shows its military superiority, and is unnerving those still claiming it can be defeated.
• German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has announced that Germany and other countries providing weapons to Ukraine have eliminated range restrictions, potentially opening the door for Ukraine to attempt strikes on targets deep within Russia, which would be sure to incur its own retaliation.
• Trump has again postponed the application of the ludicrously misnamed “reciprocal” tariffs on Europe.
• Spain hosted a conference on the two-state solution for a peaceful and prosperous State of Israel and State of Palestine. At the event, the Foreign Minister of Spain called for an arms embargo on Israel.
While these details are important, the guiding conceptions that animate our minds and actions are paramount.
Treat yourself to some time spent engaging with the conference.
