Focus on the Most Important Dynamic, To Make Sense of the World

Leading Developments

March 28, 2025 (EIRNS)—To make sense of the world, given the swirl of confusion all around, focus on the most important dynamic, and intervene accordingly. The priority, historic dynamic at present is the process of restoration of diplomacy between the United States and Russia. With that underway, there is positive momentum for dealing with the many other demanding problems and confrontations we face. Moreover, there is the basis for historic collaboration to build a bright future.

But there are evil efforts to spring a trap and destroy that momentum. One centers on provoking confrontation with Iran. Specifics of how this trap is sprung were put forward at today’s 95th straight weekly meeting of the International Peace Coalition (IPC). Schiller Institute leader Helga Zepp-LaRouche identified key aspects of that. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is pushing that the U.S. should follow his “model” of decapitation of national leadership in Iran, in which national leaders are killed or replaced. He points to his success in rubbing out the leadership of Hezbollah in Lebanon; and to the ousting of Bashar al Assad in Syria.

There is a fearsome buildup of forces in the region. The USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier strike group is on the way to the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden area, joining the USS Harry S. Truman; U.S. B2 stealth fighters are now deployed on the Indian Ocean base at Diego Garcia. Iran has deployed additional naval, as well as land-based forces. The danger is escalating for accidental, if not deliberate, triggering of direct confrontation.

However, the option yet remains to steer a course away from this short path to regional destruction and escalation to all-out nuclear obliteration. There is an exchange of communication by letter underway between the U.S. and Iran. After the U.S. sent its threatening letter to Iran recently, via the U.A.E., containing demands for Iran to end all nuclear activity—civilian included, with a two-month deadline, and accompanied by disrespectful U.S. remarks, it was made known yesterday that Iran, nevertheless, deigned to respond with a letter via Oman. Tehran took this diplomatic route, despite the threats from U.S. leaders, which Iranian leaders in turn have denounced. Iran has laid out its terms for indirect, not direct talks, and other conditions.

In today’s IPC discussion, the context and potentials of this situation were provided by Prof. Seyed Hossein Mousavian, former Iranian ambassador to Germany, and by Col. Alain Corvez (ret.), a French expert on the region.

Meantime, the situation in and around Ukraine is extremely dangerous. Following on yesterday’s meeting in France of the Starmer-Macron “Coalition of the Willing” to arm Ukraine in perpetuity, destroying Europe in the process, military delegations from those two nations are to visit Ukraine in person to determine their potential future deployments, delicately termed a “reassurance force” by French President Emmanuel Macron, yesterday’s host. He and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer held forth like mini-Napoleons, while even at the meeting, other nations quibbled and objected, for example, Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

Then early this morning, only hours after the close of the gathering in France, HIMARS missiles were fired from Ukraine into Russia, with what is now denounced as French and British assistance in targeting, striking a gas metering station in Sudzha. This is exactly the kind of targeting of energy infrastructure under discussion to be avoided, during the rounds of Riyadh meetings earlier this month between the U.S. and Ukraine; and the U.S. and Russia, toward a ceasefire.

The gas metering facility was “de facto destroyed,” according to the Russian Defense Ministry today. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakarova said: “There is reason to believe that the targeting and guidance for these strikes were conducted via French satellite systems, while the input of coordinates and launch procedures were managed by British specialists.” It was part of the Ukrainian “terror” campaign, she said, stressing, “The command was issued from London.”

It is in this context—with the U.S.-Russia diplomacy at the forefront, in which to understand the danger of the concocted Signalgate ploy underway, intended to “decapitate” the Trump Administration, by forcing out of office key personae such as Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, FBI Director Kash Patel, and/or others. The controlled transatlantic media are screaming that heads must roll for the Signal meeting security breach. The latest twist on the narrative is that, “the cover-up is worse than the original infractions of protocol.”

View the IPC briefing today on these matters by video archive, and mobilize with the IPC; April 4 is the next weekly meeting.

The Great Chessboard

Finally, Trump and Putin Talk; Now, Will We Ally Against Our Common Enemy?

June 4, 2025 (EIRNS)—Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin finally held a telephone conversation today, June 4, three long days after the Kiev regime launched an astoundingly provocative drone attack on five Russian airbases simultaneously, which house that country’s strategic bomber fleet. Whether 40% or only 10% of Russia’s airborne nuclear capability was destroyed in the attack is irrelevant; the fact is that whoever prepared, trained and gave the final green light for Kiev’s drone operation was itching to unleash a nuclear-strategic conflict between the world’s two greatest nuclear weapons superpowers.

We Declared Our Independence 250 Years Ago; Demonstrate It Now, or Risk Armageddon

June 3, 2025 (EIRNS)—Ever since the June 1st Ukrainian attacks on the five Russian military bases (which attacks failed or were repelled at three of them), the mainstream media have been crowing about “flipping the script”—“Russia is weakened!” they scream. “Now is the time to assassinate Putin!” blare the NATO-bots in social media. Another threefold attack has been made on the beautiful Crimean Kerch Bridge, which appears to have failed to cause the severe structural damage intended, but is an obvious escalation, and provides more “evidence” for the gullible about Russia’s supposed weakness.
