March 5, 2025 (EIRNS)—In discussion with associates on March 3, Helga Zepp-LaRouche said: “The world is undergoing an earthquake a day, [but] the shattering of the old order—and the birth pains of the new order—is still not entirely settled how this will play out.” At the same time, “the potential to go in the direction of … a new security and development architecture is clearly there,” she added.
This has already been born out this week in the announcement that President Trump has cancelled all military aid to Ukraine. “[T]his is a decision that really can push the Kiev regime towards a peace process,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, to the chagrin of those attempting to keep the war going. Instead of relinquishing their failed policies, many European governments are doubling down on their determination to wage a forever war against Russia. The Europeans, along with Zelenskyy, are clearly coordinating attempts to sway Trump away from his determination toward peace, and to create a tripwire for igniting more conflict in Ukraine, as evidenced by a new and ridiculous “coalition of the willing.” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has even called for €800 billion to “rearm Europe.” Whether any of this will actually work is still be seen.
However, those most in panic this week are the British, who have long been leading actors in manipulating the great powers to fight each other. While Prime Minister Starmer’s schemes have so far been laughable, the British could still manage to cause significant damage—especially to a Trump administration with as many weaknesses as it has.
In fact, Trump’s largest Achilles heel may turn out to be the financial system, and in particular his eagerness to dive head-first into the madness of cryptocurrencies. While much of the situation around his announced “strategic crypto reserve” remains unclear, this will only further push the financial system and the treasury market into instability, and could easily ignite the next financial crisis.
On Tuesday, March 4, the emergency Cairo summit of the Arab nations took place, and participants endorsed Egypt’s proposal for the reconstruction of Gaza. The proposal calls for the massive rebuilding of Gaza, with a view years into the future for a growing and prosperous country—as part of a two-state solution between Palestine and Israel. While the proposal would be substantially improved with the addition of the LaRouche Oasis Plan for massive water desalination and the greening of the deserts, it is a major step in the right direction, and indicates the potential for historic changes in the region and beyond.
Zepp-LaRouche noted further that the post-Cold War policy of the unipolar order has completely backfired. “It was the biggest blowback in history you can imagine, where all the elements of this unipolar world—the regime-changes, color revolutions, interventionist wars, weaponization of the dollar—all of that had a gigantic blowback, bringing us to the point of World War III,” she said. The normalization of relations between the U.S. and Russia today could now mean a whole “new start” for a world that has been dominated by British geopolitics.
If the collapse of this old imperial system can open the way for a new, collaborative relationship between the U.S., Russia, and China, then this opens up the potential for changing the world as a whole. This is the key strategic question today, and represents the seed-crystal for resolving all other problems worldwide.
