Dec. 3 -- When Matt Gaetz withdrew his name from consideration to be Donald Trump's Attorney General, there was a collective sigh of relief heard throughout official Washington.  Gaetz, a Republican Congressman from Florida, is a fierceTrump loyalist, who trashed and debunked those who used the false stories of Russiagate to undermine Trump, accusing him of colluding with Russian President Putin to rig the 2016 election.  Gaetz said he would use the position as Attorney General to pay back those from the "Deep State" who had conspired to disrupt Trump's presidency.  He pledged to purge the department of the "permanent bureaucracy" which enforced the post-9/11 "national security state" through illegal surveillance, bogus prosecutions and support for censorship.

His chance to do that was lost due to charges of sexual improprieties, which he denied, but were generating nonstop coverage in the mainstream press.  Rather than fight, Gaetz withdrew, saying he did not want to become a distraction to fulfilling Trump's mission.

But the sigh of relief from the anti-Trump establishment soon turned into groans, when Trump nominated Kash Patel to be FBI Director.  Patel held a number of different positions in the Trump administration, including chief of staff to acting defense secretary Christopher Miller, deputy assistant to the president, senior director for counterterrorism at the National Security Council and deputy to the acting director of national intelligence.  In each post, he displayed a tenacious killer focus targeting those who weaponized the Justice Department (DOJ) and the FBI to take down Trump.

Working with House Intelligence Committee chair Rep. Devin Nunes, he played a key role in drafting the "Nunes memo", which charged that the FBI "may have relied on politically motivated or questionable sources" to obtain a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant to spy on Trump adviser Carter Page as part of the "Russiagate" allegations.  Patel undertook a persistent effort to expose the Steele dossier as a compilation of lies, which was fabricated by a former British MI6 agent, and was used by the FBI to obtain FISA wiretaps. Subsequent discovery motions proved that the dossier was paid for by members of the Hillary Clinton campaign, as a dirty trick against Trump's candidacy.  Unable to defeat Trump at the ballot box, they continue to use the fake dossier to back their claim that Trump is a puppet of Putin.

The Nunes memo demonstrated a pattern of the Bureau's politicization of law enforcement which was deployed routinely against those who challenged the "security state" set up after the 9/11 terror attacks.  While Deep State operatives in Congress and the media lied about the memo and conducted a vicious slander campaign against Nunes and Patel, they were unable to refute the charges against FBI corruption detailed in the memo.

Patel wrote a book about corruption in the DOJ and intelligence community, titled "Government Gangsters", which includes a list of sixty officials to investigate for possible prosecution for their role in using Russiagate to undermine Trump.

While the media obsessively defended the Russiagate story and attacked both Nunes and Patel as partisan hacks and Trump sycophants, DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz wrote a lengthy report which vindicated the Nunes memo and exposed FBI/DOJ systemic malfeasance.  Asked during a Senate hearing if some FBI agents should have been fired, Horowitz said he agreed, adding "There's got to be a change in the culture also."  Not surprisingly, he Horowitz report was buried in the media.

If Patel is confirmed, along with Trump's choice to replace Gaetz as Attorney General, Pam Bondi, there will  be a significant turnover in personnel to facilitate a "change in the culture."

In addition to the hammer blows Patel could deliver to the anti-Trump networks, intel establishment operatives remain extremely worried about Tulsi Gabbard taking over as Director of National Intelligence (DNI).  The panic of Never-Trumpers was displayed in a nasty podcast by Nikki Haley, who was Trump's U.N. Ambassador befgore turning against him.  Haley's list of charges centered on Gabbard's opposition to the endless wars of the U.S. and NATO neocons, and criticized her for exposing the role of the CIA in aiding, arming and training Islamic Jihadists in Syria.  Haley said that the DNI position, which has oversight of 18 intelligence agencies, should not be handed to Gabbard, who she called a "Russian, Iranian, Syrian, Chinese sympathizer."

With the over-running of Aleppo by Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham Jihadists this week, and rumors of a U.S.-Israel-Turkey role in backing them, those in U.S. intelligence who have aided and guided the development of Islamic Jihadists have good reason to fear Gabbard's oversight, with Trump's full support.  They should panic -- many of them have hired legal counsel in anticipation of serious charges to come.
