Can astronomy, astrophysics and space exploration chart humanity's successful upward exit from Self-Extinction? The fact that a discussion of destroying the entire planet through thermonuclear war has now become commonplace throughout the world’s media, indicates that we are on the edge of an extinction event: the 600-year old imperial/colonial order will die, or the human race will.
Let us uplift ourselves from our suicidal daily obsessions of war and destruction. Let us, rather, ask ourselves: What is the true nature of mankind? Are we merely earthlings? Is the human race the consciousness of an evolving universe, with an “extra-terrestrial imperative to spread life throughout that universe? The implications of the answer to those questions point the way to how we can solve not only all problems before us on Earth today, but chart a path for unending progress.
