Oct. 13—As with a summer storm, the relentless, oppressive tension of a silent march toward nuclear war, has been broken. Two LaRouche movement youth leaders refused to play footsie with nuclear war, insisting that Congresswomen Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) take in the horrifying reality of her actions. The video of Kynan Thistlethwaite and José Vega, confronting her at a New York City town meeting on her moral bankruptcy, her embrace of the war party, has exploded on the scene. In the first 24 hours, there were 5.5 million views, catapulting the video onto Fox News, RT, the New York Post, and a host of other locations.
Former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, who had just quit the Democratic Party, calling them out for transforming themselves into the war-party, appeared on Fox’s Jesse Waters show, calling upon one and all to pay “attention to what those two young men were saying…. One of the reasons that I left this Democratic Party of today is because they have become the party of war hawks. We are literally sitting on the precipice of nuclear disaster. You hear these young men saying ‘nothing else matters if we are all destroyed in a nuclear war.’” Tucker Carlson followed that up in Fox’s next show with repeated references back to the intervention on AOC, saying of Thistlethwaite and Vega that “these are real progressives”—unlike the fraud and “neocon” AOC.
The infamous Ukrainian “Center for Countering Disinformation”—whose blacklist attempted to shut down the Schiller Institute’s forums—just two days earlier had let slip their nightmare: That 50% of the Republicans in the United States were now convinced that the U.S. had thrown too many weapons into Ukraine, and had gone too far. Even if it were only a sort of feral sense from the CCD, it speaks to the non-linear processes afoot in the U.S. and the world. As they say, if even Greta Thunberg, the Greenie icon, admitted that the German nuclear plants should be kept open, can spring be far behind?
On that note, the Asian-centered organization, Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), came into being in Astana, Kazakhstan, after 31 years of existing as an occasional discussion group. India, China and Russia head up a list of 28 Asian-centered countries. President Vladimir Putin’s far-reaching address sounded the themes for CICA’s role in the world, joining the SCO, ASEAN and the EAEU. He stressed Asia’s role in the birth of the multipolar world; the need for a new international economic arrangement, beginning with “more active use of national currencies in mutual settlements”; and on the deadly role of sanctions in destroying food security and starving populations. In a side meeting with Turkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, they put on the table a new massive hub for Russian oil in Turkey, not only for distribution to the world but also for a center for the pricing of oil.
A clear trumpet has sounded. A new generation of LaRouche activists are convening a conference on Saturday, sponsored by the Schiller Institute. No stopping in the middle of the stream.
