Oct. 12—Given that Mankind is on the verge of a possible nuclear World War III—and that that fact is now widely recognized in all cognizant circles internationally—every person is now, like it or not, a world citizen, a member of the One Humanity first and before all other national or local considerations. The only question is whether or not we will now act on that basis, as Friedrich Schiller required, and respond as both a world citizen and a patriot.
This was Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche’s evaluation and marching orders today, upon reviewing the strategic situation, including the explosion of coverage of the remarks of former U.S. Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), who announced yesterday that she was quitting the Democratic Party. Gabbard told social media host Joe Rogan yesterday that “People need to know that our leaders have pushed us to the brink of nuclear war.” In an interview that already has over 2 million views, Gabbard aptly described this as the most dangerous point in history, where a nuclear war could break out in a week, a month.
Former President Donald Trump also spoke out Oct. 9 (better late than never, commented Zepp-LaRouche) about the danger of nuclear war, calling on the U.S. to sit down at the negotiating table with Russia. Six months earlier, on April 27, Col. Richard Black (ret.) had given an interview to EIR and the Schiller Institute stressing the immediate danger of nuclear war, in a video which now has well over 2 million views (including with German, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese language subtitles).
All segments of society around the world must be mobilized to stop this imminent danger, Zepp-LaRouche stated, but this will only succeed if the underlying causes of the war—the systemic breakdown of the entire trans-Atlantic financial system—are addressed and corrected. Partial mobilizations posing partial solutions that don’t address the root cause will fail, she warned.
Consider the ominous financial crisis spreading outwards from the United Kingdom over recent weeks, where the Bank of England issued a public warning yesterday that “dysfunction in this market, and the prospect of self-reinforcing ‘fire sale’ dynamics pose a material risk to U.K. financial stability.”
Alternating policies of flooring the gas pedal on monetary emission (QE, or quantitative easing), followed by slamming on the brakes (QT, or quantitative tightening), followed by doing both at the same time, have only worsened the situation and created both hyperinflation and physical-economic collapse, with no possible solution under the current systemically flawed system.
The same policy insanity is being aggressively pursued in the United States by the Federal Reserve, with similar results. And as if to celebrate and flaunt their incompetence, former Fed Chairman “Helicopter” Ben Bernanke—the same Bernanke who gained notoriety for encouraging throwing money out of helicopters, if need be, to bail out the failing system—was just given the 2022 Nobel Prize in Economics!
It can indeed be fairly said that, whom the gods would destroy, they first send to Harvard to study economics.
The solution, fortunately, is at hand. A new international security and development architecture is the concrete expression of the common interest of that One Humanity, a new paradigm which replaces the bankrupt speculative neo-liberal system centered in the City of London and Wall Street, with a Hamiltonian credit system that fosters advanced-technology development projects in every corner of the planet, as Lyndon LaRouche detailed over the last half-century.
To deliberate over such issues, the Schiller Institute is holding an international conference on Saturday, Oct. 15 on “Build the New Paradigm, Defeat Green Fascism.”
And the Schiller Institute is also pleased to announce that it will be holding a major international event hosted in the Congress of Mexico in Mexico City, “Second Seminar of Current and Former Elected Officials of the World,” on the topic “Stop the Danger of a Nuclear War.” It will be held on Oct. 27, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. (EDT), with international participation over Zoom, with simultaneous interpretation in multiple languages.
