Leading Developments

Aug. 15—Today is August 15, 2022, the 51st anniversary of the crime of the century, in which a hapless President Richard Nixon was induced by his Wall Street and City of London controllers to pull the plug on the post-war Bretton Woods system. This crime rang in the era of floating exchange rates, and of genocidal free trade and globalization, and it marked the beginning of the end of Glass-Steagall, opening the floodgates to the rampant speculation which has now plunged the world into a systemic breakdown crisis.

The one man who called that crime for what it was, even as it was being committed, was Lyndon LaRouche, the 100th anniversary of whose birth we celebrate this coming Sept. 8, with a major international Schiller Institute conference on Sept. 10-11. LaRouche not only denounced the crime, but he also provided policy solutions to reverse its damage over the course of a half-century of education and organizing across the world.

On top of that crime of the century, the British-run financial Establishment then committed a second crime to make sure that the first was not reversed: the 1988 railroad of Lyndon LaRouche which sent him to jail for five years for crimes he never committed, and the attempt to tarnish his name and ideas forever, to turn him into a political “untouchable.”

But now that name and those ideas are desperately needed to address the global economic and strategic crisis, which is escalating on all fronts, and people are turning to LaRouche’s ideas and his movement for answers. The physical economy in the West is collapsing into rubble, as a full-scale decoupling with China, Russia and other countries is insanely pushed forward. Dangerous provocations continue against China, to try to roll back the One China policy which has been the bedrock of strategic stability with the world’s most populous nation for decades. NATO is actively waging war against Russia, using Ukraine as its proxy, now including threats to attack Crimea and blow up the Kerch Strait bridge. And the FBI raid against former President Donald Trump’s residence betrays a brazen use of the “permanent bureaucracy” in the Department of Justice and FBI—the precedent for which was established with the 1986 raid of LaRouche’s residence and offices by 400 armed FBI and other law enforcement officers—to be wielded against any and all real or potential opposition to the bankers’ fascist “financial regime change” policy.

It is high time to punish the perpetrators of both crimes of the century: Exonerate LaRouche!
