After the destruction wrought by 10,000+ tons of munitions in Gaza, Netanyahu and his extremist supporters are pushing "voluntary migration" of Palestinians. |
Dec. 24—On this day when Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, there is little jubilation in that city. The usually festive marches in town are canceled for more somber statements about the terrible destruction the Palestinians are currently experiencing, in Israel’s self-destructive overreaction to the Hamas attack of Oct. 7 from Gaza. |
Dec. 22—Only today did a resolution finally pass the United Nations Security Council, addressed to relieving the catastrophe in Gaza. The resolution does not call for a ceasefire, but only “to create conditions for sustainable cessation of hostilities”—wording pre-approved by the U.S. after days of haggling. Other measures in the 16 points of action address expediting humanitarian aid. The resolution passed 13 in favor, with two abstentions—the U.S. and Russia (for very different reasons). |
Dec. 23—Countries that have committed great wrongs have had to undergo a process of redemption to regain their moral status in the community of nations. Germany following World War II and South Africa following apartheid come to mind. The United States, by standing essentially alone in the world in support of the barbaric destruction of Gaza by Israel, is consigning itself to an infamy that will outlast—by how long, we wonder—the United States’ profoundly necessary reconciliation. |

No one will be able to claim, as historians said of World War I, that we sleepwalked into World War III. The war cries today are so deafening that they threaten to awaken from the dead all of the victims of previous wars, including the First and Second World Wars. |
What better time than Christmas to mobilize for "Peace on Earth"? See Helga Zepp-LaRouche's Christmas message, "Turn Swords Into Plowshares", linked below. |
December 20—As of this writing, the evening of Dec. 20, 2023, the United Nations Security Council has been unable to schedule a vote on a U.A.E.-authored resolution calling for a halt to the fighting in Gaza—because the Biden administration, yet again, is threatening to veto any resolution containing the word “ceasefire.” With its actions, the U.S. continues to provide cover for—and is facilitating—the Netanyahu government’s unending butchery of innocent Palestinians in Gaza. Today, local health authorities said the death toll has now surpassed 20,000. |
Talks between Russian and Chinese leaders are focusing on coordination with the BRICS for a "de-dollarization" of the world economy. |
The actual foundations of the United Nations will overthrow everything you have learned about post WWII history. |
Dec. 19—In ancient times there were “the cities of the plain”—Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, Zeboiim and Zoar. Today, there are Washington, London, Kiev, Brussels and Jerusalem. The first four of the “cities of the plain” listed above, were famously destroyed by fire and brimstone, because of their hubris, their “sin and error.” The fifth, Zoar, was spared because Lot, the only man of truth to be found, took refuge there. |

Dec. 18—The toll of death and misery rises by the hour in Gaza, with the latest official count of 19,500 dead, dozens of thousands wounded, and over two million suffering. |
A new ceasefire resolution will be presented to the U.N. Security Council today. Will the U.S. again use its veto to protect Netanyahu's scorched earth policy? |
Dec. 17—The death toll in Gaza has now risen to over 18,000, although that number may quickly be eclipsed by a growing health emergency which is beginning to reach catastrophic proportions. “The perfect storm for disease has begun. Now it’s about, ‘How bad will it get?’” stated James Elder, chief spokesperson for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). |
A world defined by permanent war and depression/austerity? Or cooperation among sovereign states for mutual benefit? |
Dec. 15—The former chief of Israel’s Shin Bet domestic security service, Ami Ayalon, made the insightful comment earlier this week, that part of the cause of Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack lay in the September announcement of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEEC), which was to be an economic corridor connecting Israel to Europe and the Indian Ocean. The project, which was announced with tremendous fanfare by the U.S., Israel, and others, never once mentioned Palestine or its proximity to the project. |
Dec. 14—During his annual “Results of the Year with Vladimir Putin” televised Q&A with media and public yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin offered the following assessment of the state of the leadership of Europe, and implicitly, of the United States. "Many European public figures on the surface are acting like General de Gaulle, who was fighting for the interests of France with weapons. He assembled all the French people to show resistance to the occupying forces. |
The "Global Majority" yearns for full economic development of sovereign nations, while the "West" wants subservient colonies. That's the divide in the world today. |
Dec. 13—There are now twelve days to Christmas. In Bethlehem, the Christian religious leaders are staging a different manger scene. The baby Jesus will lie in the midst of destruction. |
The arrogance of western leaders is a threat to all humanity, as the reality that they have failed is hitting -- but they are too corrupt to change their ways! |
By an overwhelming vote for a ceasefire by the U.N. General Assembly, the Global Majority rejected the ethnic cleansing underway in Gaza. |
Dec. 12—A resounding defeat for the “rules-based order” was delivered today with the United Nations General Assembly vote for an urgent ceasefire in Gaza. This resolution passed overwhelmingly, with 153 in favor, 10 against, and 23 abstaining. Compared to the last UN vote in October which called for a “humanitarian truce,” at 120-14 and 45 abstentions, this shows that the world is increasingly opposed to the barbaric slaughter being conducted by Israel, and that the U.S. and its allies are isolated to a degree never seen before. |
