Joe Biden is on his way to Europe today to participate in a series of summits, with his minder, Tony "Rules-Based Order" (RBO) Blinken, faithfully at his side. What has been pre-scripted to occur -- if this week's Congressional testimony by Blinken is an accurate foretaste -- will be a disaster for humanity, as geopolitical provocations against Russia and China would most likely turn out badly for all. But the G7 and NATO can't presume to speak for everyone, as many nations are looking to Russia and China as defenders of the principle of sovereignty, against the arbitrary unilateralism espoused by the imperial authors of the RBO.
On Wednesday morning, Joe Biden and his wife will depart for his first travel abroad as President, an eight-day trip for three summits—the Group of Seven, June 11-13 in Cornwall, England; the NATO heads of state meeting, June 14 in Brussels; and the June 16 Summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Geneva. The principle of leaders of major nations meeting for collaboration is sorely needed in today’s world of crises—the continuing pandemic, famine, and confrontation to the point of the danger of all-out war.However, the counter-forces to potential collaboration, and even to the principle involved of serving the public good, are in high gear to either sabotage the Biden-Putin Summit happening at all, or, in some fantasy-ridden way, to try to dominate the events to steer whole nations into a doomsday course of green de-construction and conflict. It was announced yesterday that Secretary of State Antony Blinken will be alongside Biden when he meets with Putin. Not surprising, but not propitious. As it happens, Blinken was the witness at marathon, day-long Congressional hearings of Appropriations and Foreign Relations Committees, in the House of Representatives all day Monday, and in the Senate today. The recurring theme, expressed with smarmy bi-partisanship, was that Russia and China are U.S. enemies; they oppose U.S. “values,” and so on and on. For example, Rep. Gerald Connelly (D-VA) asserted that NATO must no longer be only a defense organization, in the military sense in which it was founded, but now be active “for democracy,” against malign leaders. “It must be an antidote to Putin and Xi…. Democracy must be built into the architecture of NATO” itself, for “democratic resilience.” Blinken assured him, it will be. He said that in 2010—the last year of NATO’s formal “conceptual” mandate— Russia was referred to as a “partner,” and China hardly mentioned at all. Now, preserving democracy against these nations must be NATO’s official conceptual charter. There were dozens of such exchanges and kindergarten-level jingoism. As NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg said this past week: NATO is no longer just a military alliance, but a “military-political” alliance, and “global,” not just in the “Atlantic” as the name may mistakenly imply. In line with all this, Biden’s first stop tomorrow will be to Mildenhall, England, to the Royal Air Force base, where the U.S. Air Force 100th Air Refueling Wing is located, the only permanent U.S. refueling site in the European theatre. He will address American personnel. Thursday, he will meet with Prime Minister Boris Johnson, in what media itineraries describe as an occasion to stress the special U.S.-UK relationship. Sunday, the Bidens will go to Windsor Castle to meet with the Queen. This political alignment is as venal as it is dangerous, but it also is delusional. The monetarist financial system associated with the U.S.-U.K. special financial relationship of Wall Street and the City of London, is now in the terminal phase. It cannot continue. Look at today’s hyperinflation, worsening by the hour. There will either be a break-forward into a new paradigm of economic policy, and foreign relations, favoring peoples and nations, or there will be chaos and misery, with the likelihood of war. Helga Zepp-LaRouche, Schiller Institute Chairwoman, is stressing this forcefully in recent communications, warning that the hyperinflation shows that a major phase-change is in store. “It is not endless…not a bad infinity.” One manifestation of the end-phase is that people cannot afford to eat. International prices of basic foods—taken as a group—in May are up 38 percent over their level in May, 2020, measured and weighted by different categories. This is the latest report from the UN Food and Agriculture Organization’s Food Price Index, a monthly tracking survey, issued on June 1. The FAO gives details—e.g., corn (maize) prices are up 89 percent over that period; dairy products prices are up 28 percent, etc. Look at COVID-19, now raging in the Southern Hemisphere, as well as in India and at points in Southeast Asia. The Pan American Health Organization’s latest survey reports surges from Chile to the Caribbean. Amidst this terrible picture, there are instances which stand out, of the opposite paradigm of compassion, sanity, and sound policy. On the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum last week, President Putin met with representatives of many pharmaceutical companies, investors, and nations, on plans to rapidly establish Sputnik V vaccine production facilities in many places. So far 25 firms and 14 nations are involved, plus 30 investors from 17 nations. Among the heads of state in the meeting (virtually) were those of Argentina and Serbia. Nations participating in setting up vaccine facilities include Mexico, Germany, Italy, Belarus, China, Kazakhstan, and more. This exemplifies the spirit to be addressed everywhere, in mobilizing for a new paradigm for mankind. Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts is leading the charge in Western and farm states against the Green Reset “30×30” anti-food, anti-population plan. In May, Ricketts launched a series of town hall meetings, some of which have turned out standing-room-only crowds. The latest one, in Clay County, June 3, saw more than 200 in attendance.Denouncing this “radical climate agenda,” Ricketts told the crowd, “This fight is now in our own backyard. We are on the front lines. We are in the trenches.” He warned farmers also to beware how the new Fed policies will tell them how to farm their land. Nebraska, where 97% of the land is reportedly privately owned, has indeed become a hotbed of resistance to the drive to cut agriculture production worldwide. Since Biden signed the sweeping green Executive Order 14008 in January, Nebraska has seen 23 counties—the most in any single state—pass resolutions against it, according to media coverage. In April, Ricketts corralled governors from 14 states to sign a letter against the 30×30 plan, and the state Attorney General (along with the Kansas AG) issued his own letter. On May 18, Kansas Senator Roger Marshall, along with North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer (both Republicans), introduced S1673, the “30×30 Termination Act,” which would block federal funds from going to the President’s executive order. Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert denounced the 30×30 plan in a stinging op-ed in the Washington Examiner on May 1, and introduced companion “30×30 Termination” legislation into the House of Representatives. Additionally, two Kansas legislators, Sen. Jerry Moran, and Rep. Tracey Mann, have taken it one step further, introducing companion bills—HR3314 and S1682, what they are calling the “No Land Grab Act 5 of 2021”—which would explicitly block the 30 by 30 portion of the Biden edict. As opposition to E.O. 14008 has quickly spread—prairie fire fashion—through the Midwestern heartland, administration officials have been forced to beat a hasty retreat, and are now virtually tripping over themselves to insist that this is, and always was, a “voluntary” program. On May 6, the Interior Department issued the America the Beautiful report, which, according to Amanda Zalucky, writing on TownTalk, mentions the word “voluntary” a ridiculous number of times. That this program is voluntary may be true, but what is not voluntary, are the intentions of its ideological sponsors, including Malthusians the likes of the late Prince Philip and his oldest son Prince Charles, who see humanity as a blight on the planet, and the reduction of food—to the point of creating famines—as one of the easiest and cheapest ways of “culling the herd.”
President Joe Biden, who is going to Europe later this week for summits with G7 leaders, NATO heads of state and then Russian President Putin, wrote an op-ed published in the June 5 Washington Post and other media. Biden said the purpose of his major foreign trip was, in essence, to confront and back off Putin and, in absentia, Chinese President Xi Jinping.Claiming that his Presidency has re-established American leadership in economics and the global Green New Deal (his purpose in rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement), Biden wrote: "So, when I meet with Vladimir Putin in Geneva, it will be after high-level discussions with friends, partners and allies who see the world through the same lens as the United States, and with whom we have renewed our connections and shared purpose. We are standing united to address Russia’s challenges to European security, starting with its aggression in Ukraine, and there will be no doubt about the resolve of the United States to defend our democratic values, which we cannot separate from our interests. “In my phone calls with President Putin, I have been clear and direct,” the President went on. The United States does not seek conflict. We want a stable and predictable relationship where we can work with Russia on issues like strategic stability and arms control…. “At the same time, I have also imposed meaningful consequences for behaviors that violate U.S. sovereignty, including interference in our democratic elections. And President Putin knows that I will not hesitate to respond to future harmful activities. When we meet, I will again underscore the commitment of the United States, Europe and like-minded democracies to stand up for human rights and dignity.” This goal is dangerous to try and impossible to achieve. The trans-Atlantic financial system is wracked with unemployment on a large scale, inflating rapidly and threatening to collapse. The United States and European governments have not adopted any major “Marshall Plan” of infrastructural rebuilding to recover from the pandemic, have lost leadership in energy sciences and the dynamics of space exploration, and in fact have not created any productive employment at all, simply handing out relief funds generated by great volumes of new government debt. The financial system centered in the City of London and Wall Street banking giants will blow up—if these giants are not broken up in time—rather than “supporting” such aggressive stances to Russia and China. There is, in fact, only one mission Biden could take to these summits with other major powers, which would serve to advance “human rights and dignity,” including the human right to life and health and the dignity of a productive contribution to the future of the human race. That mission is the building of a modern system of healthcare—hospitals, clinics, trained medical staff—and public health monitoring in every nation in the world. The last year has shown that almost no nation has a modern healthcare system equal to a serious pandemic, and that definitely includes the nation Joe Biden now represents. Since such a mission also requires the building of other kinds of new, high-technology infrastructure in developing nations worldwide—such as power and clean water facilities and new housing—it can only be carried out through cooperation not only with European “allies,” but with Russia and with China as well as other Asian technological powers. Though very unlikely to come from this President at these June summits, it is the only mission any president could achieve.

Today’s hysterical warnings of a coming cataclysm of climate change are only the latest expression of the anti-human religion of modern environmentalism created in the 1960s and 1970s. Anti-entropic growth characterizes the universe as a whole.The dawning age of mammals replaced the majority of the far inferior reptiles, not because of an external event, but because the mammalian life was characterized by a higher energy-intensity than the reptiles, and by the creation of a more stable internal environment (warm-blooded endothermy) that supported more specific and powerful biochemical reactions. So too does the human species develop new resources by discovering new principles—transforming uranium from a mostly useless yellow rock to the most concentrated form of fuel. So too does the human species develop the improved synthetic environment of a platform of physical infrastructure that allows individual business and productive processes to thrive in a medium of efficient transportation, healthy people, and plentiful energy. This was the truth. Sir Richard Dearlove, the former MI6 chief who ran the Russiagate hoax against President Trump, said from the beginning that we should not worry about stopping the pandemic, but rather, blame China and make them pay for the global damage. When the pandemic got out of control in the U.S., as the nation was unable to respond as a “one,” rather than “the many,” and anarchistic actions and lack of coordination created a disaster. The geopoliticians who surrounded Trump convinced him he needed to blame someone else if he wanted to get reelected. (His nation has finalized arrangements for domestic production of the Sputnik V vaccine.) President Vladimir Putin himself spoke in person at St. Petersburg, on the topics of equitable vaccine access, improving the Russian business environment, and his own version of actions to address “climate change.” Nuclear, hydro, and natural gas play prominently in his proposals, which also envision billions of dollars flowing into Russia to purchase carbon credits for its forests and tundra. Meanwhile, what passes for political discussion in the United States is an absolute joke—Tony Blinken castigating China for Tiananmen Square, UN Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield shedding crocodile tears for Syrians, Facebook offering social media convict Trump the potential of parole in two years, conditioned on good behavior. Although some in the world may wish to just abandon the United States or the “West” altogether, the actual problems must be resolved, including the beyond-bankrupt condition of the U.S. economy. A leading topic of discussion in at least several of the many panels was the fact that the illegal use of unilateral sanctions by the US, the UK, and the EU has reached a point that several leading countries, and in particular Russia and China, are deep in discussions about breaking out of the US dollar-dominated international financial system. In a panel chaired by the Valdai Discussion Club, titled “The Risks Sanctions Pose to the Global FInancial System and International Business,” the introduction reads: “The transformation of the dollar into a weapon carries the threat of unforeseen shocks…. The intensity and indiscriminate nature with which sanctions are deployed suggests that a targeted political tool is now becoming all-encompassing.”Vladimir Kolychev, Russia’s Deputy Finance Minister, said that as a result of these criminal sanctions, “a new global financial system is coming into being. It won’t come overnight, but it is inevitable. The sanctioned countries will do it.” There is an ongoing withdrawal from the existing structures, he said, since it is not safe to use US dollars (Washington’s claim to have the right to impose sanctions on countries, businesses, and individuals, is based simply on the fact that nearly all global trade transactions pass through the US dollar system, even when the trade has nothing to do with the US). Russia’s trade was 80% in dollars as recently as 2019, Kolychev noted, but is now less than 50%. Reserves in Russia are now only 20% in US dollars. While the sanctions are reason enough for taking such emergency measures, a second looming disaster is that years and years of printing dollars to bail out financial bubbles in the trans-Atlantic banking system, without expanding the productive base, is threatening hyperinflation in the dollar zone. On May 31, China’s Global Times editorial began: “While it is uncertain whether the Biden administration’s helicopter money policies will spur a new round of economic growth, it is already clear that the spending spree will first mire the US economy in a bottomless pit of inflation.” Here is yet another reason to extricate national currencies from the dollar, to trade in national currencies, or, as some suggest, in new digital currencies. But is this wise? It can not be questioned that the dozens of sanctioned countries are justified in wishing to get out from under the deadly and illegal unilateral sanctions. But, should the world be broken up into separate trading zones, especially at a time when the US establishment and NATO are mobilizing for war against both Russia and China, for no reason except to keep the trillions of dollars flowing into the military-industrial complex and its Wall Street/City of London owners? Does further financial division not encourage this war party? Also, even if the majority of the world’s countries pulled out from the dominance of the dollar, and joined in great development projects through the Belt and Road Initiative, if the US, UK, and EU are left to disintegrate, this would only lead to global disintegration and war. Here is where the concept of the Coincidence of Opposites, from Nicholas of Cusa, and the Committee of that name launched by Helga Zepp-LaRouche and former Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders in 2020, addresses the necessary resolution of an apparently insoluble crisis. Neither the western economies nor the developing economies can accept the Green New Deal now being forced upon the world by the trans-Atlantic banking oligarchy, as it would destroy the industrial nations economies and literally depopulate the developing nations. Neither the Eastern nations nor the Western nations can withstand a 1929-style crash, let alone a hyperinflationary disaster like that of 1923 Germany. And certainly no sane person wants nuclear war. The solution, as difficult as it may seem in the current chaos, lies in addressing the common aims of mankind: joining nations together in a New Bretton Woods, using the proven method of Glass-Steagall bankruptcy reorganization to restore sound credit policies; use the uplifting and successful model of international cooperation in space exploration, and in realizing the short-term reachable goal of limitless energy through fusion power; foster educational systems which teach both one’s own history and culture, but also those of other cultures vastly different from one’s own. It is known as a Renaissance. We are all human, with creative powers, imago viva dei. We have a responsibility to the Creator to use those powers to further the human miracle. In the latter half of the 20th Century, the British Empire's policies of depopulation and enforced underdevelopment were imposed worldwide. The Group of Seven nations plans to launch a green alternative to China’s Belt and Road initiative when the leaders meet at their annual summit, according to two people familiar with the matter, Bloomberg reports. The G7 summit will take place under British chairmanship in Cornwall June 11-13.“The strategy, expected to be called the ‘Clean Green Initiative,’ would provide a framework to support sustainable development and the green transition in developing countries, the people said. The initiative will also be on the summit agenda for the leaders.” However, it is not clear whether the G7 will decide to put some money behind the initiative, as the initial purpose was “a pledge toward creating a strategic framework.” G7 member countries also quarrel on where to focus: the U.S. wants to focus on Central and South America, whereas France, Germany and Italy want to focus on Africa, and Japan on Asia. They apparently believe that developing nations are so stupid as to accept CO₂ tradeoffs instead of development. In a related development, UN Special Envoy on Climate Action and Finance Mark Carney is struggling to get his Global CO₂ Trading scheme ready by the end of this year. The group set up by Carney, the Taskforce on Scaling Voluntary Carbon Markets, is divided on major issues that have to do with the price of CO₂: Whereas some members are pushing for a global regulating agency, Carney wants prices to be determined by “the markets,” which means they can be manipulated at will. Carney insists with the target of a $100 billion market by the end of the decade—a difficult target to achieve from the supply side.
Before the June 16 summit between Presidents Putin and Biden, there will be summits of the G7 in the UK and NATO in Brussels. The main topic of these summits, announced in ongoing pre-summit meetings, will be coordination to "confront systemic challenges from Russia and China". This was the message of British Foreign Minister Dominic Raab, and seconded by U.S. officials Lloyd Austin, the U.S. Defense Secretary, and Secretary of State Blinken. The G7 is expected to unveil its "alternative" to China's global Belt-and-Road infrastructure initiative, the "Clean Green Initiative", and its new "Alliance of Democratic States", which Blinken said will provide robust support for the phony "Rules-Based Order". These are a public relations cover for geopolitical provocations of the War Hawks, to defend their highly unpopular "Great Reset"; keep an eye out for Fake News and False Flags, designed to disrupt any serious effort in the Putin-Biden summit, to move toward cooperative agreements on addressing the systemic breakdown underway.

Among those she dissected are the Wuhan lab leak story, published May 23 in the Wall Street Journal by Michael Gordon, who wrote the original lies about Iraq's WMDs for the NY Times in 2002, and Chatham House/Brit intelligence re-writing of the history of the post-Cold War relations with Russia. She also spoke of the revival of the accurate charges against the NSA and Danish intelligence for spying on European leaders, first exposed in 2013, but never stopped; and of the scandal around the Green New Deal, with Mark Carney pushing a brutal form of new colonialism, to prevent development of Third World economies, allegedly to halt global warming! The final outrage she discussed is that of German Green leader Habeck, calling for the delivery by Germany of weapons to Ukraine. The antidote to this escalating insanity is for viewers of her weekly dialogue to study these issues, and join with the Schiller Institute to build a global anti-Malthusian movement. Transcript The LaRouche Organization Weekly Webcast with Helga Zepp-LaRouche Wednesday, June 2, 2021 HARLEY SCHLANGER: Hello, I’m Harley Schlanger and welcome to our weekly dialogue with Helga Zepp-LaRouche, founder and President of the Schiller Institute. Today is Wednesday June 2, 2021. We’re in the midst of a very dense period of political, social and economic developments. Why don’t we start with the story that’s been hyped a lot in the Western media, the so-called Wuhan lab leak story which is coming from, not surprisingly, the same sources that were responsible for so many other false stories and fabrications. Helga, what do you make of this story? HELGA ZEPP-LAROUCHE: It is very important to keep a historic memory. A lot of our supporters and contacts have said in the recent period that the whole strategic picture is so confusing, and it’s very difficult to differentiate what is true, what is wrong, and they’re mainly at a loss. And that has a reason: The reason is, that there is such an enormous amount of psychological warfare coming from the war party, that a normal person, a normal citizen who is not really trying to find the truth almost is lost, and that has a method. Now, the story you just referred to is the story that the COVID-19 originated in a virological lab in Wuhan and that was maybe not intentional, but in any case, the Chinese covered it up and therefore are responsible for the COVID crisis and economic damage which resulted out of it. So this is an unbelievable story: It appeared on May 23 in the Wall Street Journal and it was written by one Michael Gordon, who reiterated that story; then two days later it was picked up by the U.S. Secretary for Health Becerra, and then one day later, President Biden said that he ordered a 90-day investigation by the U.S. Intelligence Community, that they should investigate this and find out if this was coming from this Wuhan lab. Now, first of all this story was not mentioned for the first time by the Wall Street Journal but already last June, the former head of MI6 Sir Richard Dearlove had come out with the same accusation, saying that if it turns out that China is responsible for this virus, they have to pay reparations. And now the story is all over, every tabloid, every newspaper is peddling this story, and therefore, it is extremely important to look at who are these journalists who wrote this story. Well, it is exactly the same people—Michael Gordon and Judith Miller—who in [September 8] 2002, in the Wall Street Journal wrote the story about the so-called “weapons of mass destruction” of Saddam Hussein, the so-called aluminum pipes which Saddam Hussein supposedly imported to build centrifuges to build a nuclear bomb. Well, if people remember that led to the Iraq War: As a result hundreds of thousands of Iraqis were killed and several thousand U.S. soldiers were killed—and it turned out there were no weapons of mass destruction, that the whole thing was a hoax. Now, the question arises, should not irresponsible journalists, who are obviously not journalists at all, but who are writers or instruments of that faction of the geopolitical war party, who want to have a confrontation with China, with Russia, if they would have the same, in quotes, “success” as they did with the weapons of mass destruction story in respect to Saddam Hussein, it could lead to a war between the United States and China; and there are many people who have warned in the recent period that if such a war would occur, the likelihood that it would go nuclear is very high. So the question to be asked, is, if these people, such individuals, can they get away with murder? Because the consequences of such scribblers, such liars, such manipulators is that the price is being paid by hundreds of thousands of people in the case of Iraq, and I really think there should be an investigation and possibly a criminal investigation of what is the real background behind these people writing such stories? We had recently another story, I think it was in Newsweek that there are 60,000 individuals belonging an army which has no oversight in the Congress nor anywhere else, and they’re concerned with cyberwar, many of them sitting at desks, manipulating the internet, planting false stories, doing all kinds of things, and that is obviously part of a hybrid war, but there is no declaration of war! So I really think that this is so scandalous that I would urge that there must be an immediate international investigation in the United Nations, in parliaments. In any case, this story must not go through, because if it would lead to a war between the United States and China, as the war against Iraq and the murder of Saddam Hussein occurred, the consequences could be the annihilation of civilization. And I think these people, like Michael Gordon and Judith Miller must be investigated for what they did in the case of Iraq, who told them, what were the circumstances, and, what makes Gordon try to repeat the same story now? I think this is a huge scandal! SCHLANGER: Just one correction on Gordon, the 2002 story was actually in the New York Times; he was at the Times for 30-something years before he shows up at the Wall Street Journal. The other interesting point you made is the role of Sir Richard Dearlove, who came forward with the so-called Wuhan leak story well over a year ago. He was one of the people, when he was Chief of MI6, who pushed the fake weapons of mass destruction story, so it’s absolutely the same people involved. Now, speaking of the same people, we have a recurring story which goes back to 2013, of NSA spying at the time it was reported that the NSA was wiretapping Angela Merkel’s cell phone. This just emerged again, but there are new twists to it, Helga, including the role of Denmark working with the U.S. National Security Agency. What’s the full story that you have on this? ZEPP-LAROUCHE: That is another scandal, because it reveals something about the political reality in which we live, the so-called “rules-based order.” Every time I heard that term, “rules-based order,” if it wouldn’t be so sad, you could start laughing. But you better think that one of the rules is, even if you’re caught, it doesn’t mean anything. Because this story about the NSA spying on European politicians came out for the first time in 2013; many people may remember that Chancellor Merkel said, “Oh, spying among friends, that doesn’t go at all!” Well, then, essentially nothing happened. The same scandal broke again in 2015 in Denmark, where it was revealed that the Danish secret service was collaborating with the NSA on such spy operations—nothing came out of it. And it broke out last year again—nothing happened! So apparently, there are one or more whistleblowers in the Danish secret service who got very upset for very similar reasons—I assume; I haven’t talked to them, but that’s what it looks like—like Edward Snowden, who basically these are people who are working as secret service agents and then they realize that the whole operation is being done for something quite different than the defense of the country. So that whistleblower, or these whistleblowers, again came out, but this time, he worked with a whole international network of journalists in Sweden, Norway, Germany, some other countries, and he provided them with the documents proving that such a collaboration exists. Now, this is incredible: The fact that the Danish secret service, and probably some top politicians, because these things very seldom happen without the prime minister or whoever knows about it, obviously, rather than telling the European allies—after all, these are people we are supposed to be with in a union, so rather than telling them, they didn’t! They did not inform Merkel, Steinmeier, Steinbrück at the time; so obviously, for them to be accepted in the “club” of the Five Eyes, or Seven Eyes or whatever Eyes you may count, was more important than to protect the interests of their own citizens, the Danish people, and naturally also the allies within the European Union. So rather be a slave of a master, than be thrown out of the club: That shows a completely despicable attitude. And the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, I think he put it in the right terms because he said, this is an incredible scandal. It means there are no rules, no international law, no morality, and that is unfortunately what is being revealed by this affair. So again, I think there must be an outcry, because—the same day, and this is the other funny story—the same day this new Danish scandal broke, the German 1st Channel, ARD, had a big documentary about the Chinese surveillance state, the use of artificial intelligence and digitalization and payment in transport and all aspects of life, which is indeed true: China is much more advanced in these areas than what I have seen anywhere in the West. But the difference is, the Chinese population trusts their government; 95% are in agreement with what the government does, according to a study by Harvard; and that is why the whole thing looks very different. But with the NSA spying this has been revealed and we discussed it many times by such people as former NSA technical director Bill Binney and Ray McGovern, and other people from VIPS, the Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity, who became whistleblowers for the very same reason as Edward Snowden. And what they reported is that what the NSA does is they collect simply everything—every phone call, every email, every electronic motion anywhere is being recorded and tapped and stored. They have gigantic storage capacities, I think it’s in Utah and elsewhere. And so they have all these data from all over the world, and whenever they want to find something later, they filter it, and they can find it for eternity. Now, that means there is absolutely no respect for privacy, no respect for all the treaties, supposedly protecting the population in terms of their personal information, that is all a complete lie. Again, when I hear “rules-based order,” then one better thinks about the NSA, because that’s part of the rules. The more you find out how this whole public debate is being orchestrated, it really is reaching a point where people should really wake up, because we’re looking at the danger of a global dictatorship. And then, if you take some of the Green stuff in addition to that, I mean, we are in looking towards a complete hell, if people don’t wake up and say “Enough is enough!” SCHLANGER: And one of the stories that’s also emerging that’s important in this, is the Chatham House now rewriting history. And Chatham House is also setting up a spy operation to monitor the carbon footprint of other countries, so once again, it comes back to the British. But this rewriting of history is really significant, especially given the importance of the upcoming NATO summit and the confrontation of the West and Russia that’s being promoted by this. What did the Chatham House report say? ZEPP-LAROUCHE: They want to dismantle the many myths about NATO and Russia, by saying there was never any discussion about not moving NATO the borders of Russia in the context of the German reunification. This was never an issue, because the Soviet Union still existed and therefore nobody thought about it, and that’s just a plain lie! Because if you go to the U.S. National Security Archives, they have published a lot of written documentation about this period, and there were clearly written and verbal promises made to Gorbachev by Secretary of State James Baker; then also U.S. Ambassador Jack Matlock, and also West German Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher, I think Horst Teltschik, there are several witnesses from this time who have absolutely contradicted this story. And it’s one of these stories which have only one purpose: To knit a narrative suitable for a future confrontation. But this needs to be picked up and I call on historians and honest journalists, in case there are still some, to really pick up this story and set the record straight. SCHLANGER: We have coming up the NATO summit and the G7 summit, and there are meetings going on where they’re talking about the importance of being prepared to confront Russia and China. But Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov has had some very interesting and sharp comments on this. Could you comment on the two things coming together? ZEPP-LAROUCHE: Foreign Minister Lavrov met with Portugal’s Foreign Minister Augusto Santos Silva—Portugal is the present President of the EU Council—and a delegation of the European Union, and he said the situation between the EU and Russia is absolutely alarming, there is a complete loss of trust. And he said it can be reversed, but it means that completely different principles have to be introduced. And the big test will be the upcoming two summits, the NATO summit, which is supposed to establish also for NATO a rules-based order, whatever that is supposed to mean; and at the upcoming G7 meeting, to which among others President Biden travel, that is supposed to present—let’s see what it will be exactly—an alternative to the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative. Now, there is no money yet available, and it’s also not clear where it supposed to come from, but it’s also not clear where this “alternative Belt and Road Initiative” is supposed to be built, because the Europeans want to have it in Africa, the United States wants to have it in Latin America, and Japan wants to have it in Asia. So what they will probably do is to issue some guidelines and both summits can be expected to have a lot of rhetoric against the dictatorships and authoritarian regimes of Russia and China, and some others. But I cannot see how, from these two bodies, anything can come which addresses the real problems which are many in the world. SCHLANGER: And one of those problems is the problem of hyperinflation, which we’ve been warning about for quite a while, related to the quantitative easing and the flood of liquidity, that’s not there for saving the real economy, but for bailing out the deeply indebted banks and corporations. The hyperinflation is also hitting in Europe, and I wonder if you have some thoughts on that? ZEPP-LAROUCHE: Yes. As you say, we have been the only ones saying that this “QE” money-pumping, zero interest rates, negative interest rate, that you can do that for a very long time, but eventually it will explode into a hyperinflation: As it did in 1923, when the Germany’s Reichsbank printed money to pay both the war debt and the reparations to France, Britain and so forth. For a long time, you didn’t see anything, but then, starting in the summer of 1923, the inflation started to skyrocket, and then it went into a hyperbolic ratio, and by November, people were bringing money by the wheelbarrow to the baker because the price of bread changed by the day, and then it was ended. Now, this is not one country, like it was in Weimar Germany: This is now practically the whole world, and it’s very interesting that [China’s] Global Times had an editorial in which they warned that this excessive money creation by the Federal Reserve is now spilling over, threatening to affect the whole world with the hyperinflationary effects, and that countries should guard themselves against these effects. Now, the inflation issue and hyperinflationary issue is now out everywhere, even tabloids like Bildzeitung in Germany are warning that the savings of the pensioners will be eaten up by this inflation; the official inflation target by the ECB is 2%; in Germany, it’s already officially 2.4%, but that is obviously not the real story. Because if you go for example, in everything having to do with oil and oil-related production, then you get inflation rates of 40, or 50%. And for example, biofuels, like maize has over 100% inflation, and this is clear getting out of control. And then with that goes a crisis of a shortage in materials. So the entire construction sector in Germany, for example, and probably other European countries as well, has incredible shortages: There is a lack of wood, of other materials. Trucks cannot be repaired, because there are no spare parts. So I think it really shows that the economic situation is much more fragile, and there is normally a delay factor, between when commodity prices go up and then consumer prices. But we are now reaching the point where this is clearly becoming very visible. And it should be a reason for utmost concern. This is why, at the next Schiller Institute conference, which will be on June 26-27, and you should register and reserve the date, the issue of hyperinflation and the necessary instruments against it, namely to implement a global Glass-Steagall banking separation law, and the other three of Lyndon LaRouche’s Four Laws, that will be a major subject of that conference. And if you really are concerned how to save your money, you should listen to that conference, and not to the gold bugs, because they will try to make money out of this situation. But we will discuss at this conference the only realistic way how the livelihood and life’s work of literally billions of people can be protected. Because if there is a hyperinflation coming on internationally it will affect every economy, even those that have relative capital restrictions will be hit, because it will have a tremendous impact on the world market. While we’re talking about this we have the other green scandal, which is the attempt to create a new financial bubble, a green financial bubble and at the center of that is the former governor of the Bank of England Mark Carney, who is now selling these carbon certificates to poor countries. This is completely crazy, because the policy is openly now, no development in the Global South. This is the ultimate imperial policy, isn’t it? ZEPP-LAROUCHE: It’s pretty outrageous and naked effort to reintroduce colonialism, because what Mark Carney is proposing, for Africa in particular, is that they should sign agreements to not develop their resources, to even reforest their arable land, and then basically get some money from the certificate trading whereby they sell their certificates to firms in the West, that have production and CO₂ emissions. It’s an incredible story: It’s basically is —if you look at these different aspects, an agreement for the Global South to not develop. The present Chief of MI6, Richard Moore, says MI6 will internationally police that these agreements are being fulfilled. And then you have the G7 wanting to come up with an “alternative Belt and Road Initiative” which means no large-scale infrastructure, for sure not the kind of industrial parks that China has been building. It’s an outrageous effort to reintroduce the old colonialist system with modern means, and under conditions of a pandemic and world famine, it means massive depopulation. Since the developing countries are very vulnerable, and they’re not so strong to resist these things, I think it does require an open discussion, because this is too much. SCHLANGER: And, as with almost everything we’ve discussed so far today has some outrageous element to it, we need to pick up the outrage in the political situation in Germany, where you have the Green Party pushing depopulation of the Green financial bubble, that we just discussed, and also a war policy. And this is Baerbock, and Habeck who was contesting for chancellor candidate and lost. But they’re obviously in an alliance for these crazy policies. ZEPP-LAROUCHE: Baerbock spoke recently at the Atlantic Council, and the Atlantic Council ran a headline afterwards, “Annalena Baerbock in Synch with Joe Biden.” And that is unfortunately, absolutely the case, and the Atlantic Council as such is a think tank which represents the military-industrial complex, completely. If you look at the list of people on the board, and advisory board, it’s a good representation of the military-industrial complex, and therefore, it’s not surprising that Habeck went to Ukraine, met with President Zelensky and supported the sale of lethal weapons to Ukraine, in complete violation of even the Green program, which says no weapons should be sold to areas of war, which Ukraine clearly is. And naturally, Zelensky is now saying, “I demand that Germany should sell weapons to Ukraine,” which really is an outrage. If you think about what happened 75-80 years ago, Germany should not be enticed into selling weapons into war zone! This is so outrageous that only if people are complete oblivious to history that you could even make such an outrageous proposal. But even some of the Green members now can see that this is really a complete outrage. One can only hope that in time the character of this new leadership of the Greens—I was never a friend of the Greens, but compared to these people, Petra Kelly was a sweetheart! SCHLANGER: [laughter] As you just pointed out, it’s not just that they’re selling weapons or offering to sell weapons to Ukraine, but knowing that those weapons will go to Nazi units inside Ukraine’s defense and security forces, makes the point even more extreme. Helga, is there anything else you want to cover? ZEPP-LAROUCHE: No. I think what we discussed is a lot of food for thought. China Plus World Today Interview with Helga Zepp-LaRouche (China Plus is the official English website of China Radio International.) Monday, May 31, 2021 WORLD TODAY: You’re listening to World Today. Denmark’s secret service helped the U.S. to spy on European politicians, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel from 2012-2014, Danish media report. According to a report by Denmark’s radio, the Defense Intelligence Service collaborated with the U.S. National Security Agency to gather information, and intelligence was collected on other officials from Germany, France, Sweden and Norway. Similar allegations emerged in 2013. Then secrets leaked by U.S. whistleblower Edward Snowden alleged tapping of the German Chancellor’s phone by the NSA. For more, we’re now joined on the line by Helga Zepp-LaRouche, founder of the Schiller Institute, a Germany-based political and economic think tank. Thanks for joining us, Dr. LaRouche. HELGA ZEPP-LAROUCHE: Yes, hello.WORLD TODAY: Could you first tell us more about what the Danish media have found? ZEPP-LAROUCHE: It’s really a funny story, because all of this information essentially was known in 2015, namely that the NSA used the fact that in Denmark, you have transatlantic cables with which one can spy on everything going on in the East bloc, but also internationally. This all came out in 2015, but nothing really happened. Merkel, at the time, said “Oh, spying on allies—that doesn’t go at all,” but then absolutely nothing happened! Again, last year, the same story was leaked, and nothing happened. So there is apparently one or more whistleblowers in the Danish secret service, who say, this is just too much. This is putting in question the sovereignty of Denmark, the interest of the Danish people. So they kept leaking the same information, and now, this was picked up by a whole network of European media circles—Le Monde and German TV, Norwegian and Swedish TV—and they have been given access to the internal documents of the Danish secret service, and that is what broke. WORLD TODAY: Do you think Angela Merkel will perhaps respond differently this time? And what’s been the reaction to this report so far in Germany, and perhaps other parts of Europe? ZEPP-LAROUCHE: Well, I think the intention of this whistleblower is, because he sees that there is no reaction, and therefore he keeps leaking in order to build up the pressure. So, now, [Peer] Steinbrück, who is a former [SPD] chancellor candidate, said this is a scandal. The Norwegian and Swedish ministers said that now they demand an investigation. We have to see what happens, because this all happened already last year, and I think it totally depends, if the population says that if these governments allow that everybody is being spied on then these governments are obviously not defending the interests of their respective populations. So I think we have to see how this unfolds. WORLD TODAY: And following the news of the report on Sunday, Edward Snowden accused U.S. President Joe Biden of being deeply involved in this scandal, the first time around. Why would he say that? ZEPP-LAROUCHE: [laughs] Well, because it’s true! It’s fairly well known for everybody who has listened to Edward Snowden, and there is a whole group of American whistleblowers, who have said similar things, that the NSA is spying on everything—everything going on in the world. They’re spying on emails, laptops, telephone calls, and they collect all of this in gigantic storage facilities. And they’re not looking for a person or a subject, they’re collecting everything. And then, once they have it, later on they can go, and go with search words and call up specific things they want. In reality, this NSA operation has become a world surveillance state. You know, they’re making a lot of noise about surveillance in China and Russia, and so forth, but the reality is, the British GCHQ, that’s the equivalent of the NSA, and the NSA, they’re just collecting everything. And I think that obviously Biden, both in his capacity as Vice President and now as President, is completely on top of that. WORLD TODAY: OK, but why would the U.S. spy on its allies? ZEPP-LAROUCHE: Because they think they are the guardian of an unipolar world, and it is, for them, they don’t have any sense that there may be something wrong with that. It’s for them, quite normal and self-evident that they can do that. I mean, you know, the United States, unfortunately—and I think some officials in China have been aware of it—that the United States has turned away from their original values of the American Revolution, where they were created as a republic, and in the recent years—actually decades, one can say—they have turned into an ally of the British Empire, running the world on the basis of the “special relationship,” whereby they think that if they behave like the muscle of the British Empire, then that’s the way how they run the unipolar world. WORLD TODAY: But do you think this is going to have an impact on America’s relations with its key allies, because Joe Biden is seeking to rebuild alliances? ZEPP-LAROUCHE: Well, the question I’m asking myself, and many other people are asking themselves, is: Why is it that there was no reaction after these stories came out in 2015, in 2020? I mean, the Danish clearly knew what they were doing, but they didn’t want to make any fuss about it. They didn’t want to rock the boat. It’s almost like they would prefer to be the slave of the great master, than being kicked out of the club! You know, it’s a complete scandal: It puts into question, all this question about “Western values,” the great Western democracies, human rights, all of these things. Where are the human rights of the European citizens being protected by their governments? I hope that some very clear questions will be asked of President Biden when he attends the G7 meeting. I mean, I doubt it, because these leaders have not shown—they’d rather be part of the “Five Eyes” and “Seven Eyes,” and whatnot rather than defending their own citizens. No political leader or force in the United States or Europe is any longer challenging the biggest banks in the world, which have been unbelievably enriched during this pandemic by the central banks, while millions have died and hundreds of millions have lost their work and their subsistence. President Trump called their CEOs “Wall Street geniuses.” The European Union has the likes of Morgan and BlackRock plan its alleged “recovery programs.” The World Economic Forum club of finance billionaires, who gather with the British royals at Davos, have put themselves in charge of the supposedly all-important global “Green New Deal” and have been seizing control of government spending policies from governments. In the U.S. Congress, the erstwhile anti-megabank champions like Sen. Elizabeth Warren no longer dare to mention the Glass-Steagall principle of bank separation when the biggest banksters sit in hearings before them.“At our upcoming conference it is very, very urgent that we resume the fight for Glass-Steagall Act. There are clear signs of a hyperinflationary blowout,” declared Schiller Institute President Helga Zepp-LaRouche today in discussion with activists all over the United States and Canada. It is those banks, bulked up to incredible size by the Federal Reserve during this economic and human crisis, who are driving that hyperinflation now threatening us. The four largest U.S. banks—JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citigroup—now have half of all deposits in the banking system: $7.5 trillion of $15 trillion—but have made only $4 trillion in loans! The seven biggest have three-quarters of all the assets, $13 trillion out of $17.5 trillion. These are giant engines of speculation. Since 1999 when Glass-Steagall was eliminated they can speculate on anything from oil tankers to stock and bond indices; and their speculation with the Fed’s flood of money printing—while no productive employment or investments are created—is driving the rising tide of inflation. The worst danger is the power these banks now wield, above all in imposing the global technological great leap backward of the Green New Deal. It will send advanced economies into chaos and subject developing countries to genocidal population reduction by denying electric power, mechanized agriculture, modern medical delivery. But it promises a huge new bubble of “green finance” to those banks by the looting power of high energy prices and carbon taxes. We already have seen BlackRock and associated Wall Street and City of London investment firms forcing the shutdown of coal and oil power, from the United States to South Africa to the Philippines, by cutting off investment. Only today another consortium of six of the biggest global banks combined to force “decarbonization” on the steel industry. The OECD’s think-tank on “green transformations” projects world steel production to drop by more than half over this century. Helga Zepp-LaRouche has named the only sane response. These giant banks must be thoroughly broken up, both to choke off the fuel for the engines of speculation and to break their immense political power. How can we allow new classes of deca-billionaires to accumulate hundreds of thousands of times more wealth than working homeowners, and millions of times more than the couple of billion people in the world who have no regular work or healthcare after a year of pandemic? Glass-Steagall must be brought back, only one of what Lyndon LaRouche called the “Four new Laws To Save the Nation” when he laid them down on June 8, 2014. National banks for productive credit are necessary in every country; and the productivity investments of that credit should be paced by science-driver programs of space exploration and fusion power/plasma technology development. As the clock ticks down for the June 16 scheduled summit between Presidents Biden and Putin, the British are gearing up their efforts to sabotage the summit, and more broadly to orchestrate a deadly strategic showdown between the U.S. on the one side, and China and Russia on the other.Neither the White House nor the Kremlin believe that any major breakthrough will occur at the summit—at best, each has stated for the record, an exchange of views will occur, and the lines of communication will remain open. But even that is far more than the British Empire can tolerate, and they are deployed accordingly—against both Russia and China. Even a cursory review of developments over the last 24 hours paints a clear picture: The drumbeat against Russia on the Belarusian detention of neo-Nazi Pratasevich is stepping up. The President of the EU Parliament David Sassoli has called for more sanctions against Russia, to help provoke regime-change. More Ukrainian terrorists have been arrested inside Russia, out to create chaos and topple Putin. British intelligence is taking the lead in the “Wuhan lab leak” concoction blaming China for the pandemic. And on and on. There are, of course, “realists” in the West who believe that the current confrontation course with China and Russia is both unnecessary and dangerously misguided. They occasionally are able to voice their views in the establishment media. But such “realism,” although laudable as a sentiment, will get exactly nowhere in preventing superpower confrontation and even warfare, unless it also takes on the actual cause of war: the collapsing trans-Atlantic economic and political system. As Lyndon LaRouche uniquely specified, the danger of war will persist until the City of London and Wall Street are put through bankruptcy reorganization, and a new international credit system is established to reverse the half-century decline in the planet’s Potential Relative Population Density through global infrastructure projects. The most pressing of these is the construction of a system of advanced health systems in every nation in the world, to turn the tide against the Covid-19 pandemic and to prepare for likely future viruses. But it’s a building process, so I think the more people are discussing solutions the better, so let’s hope it works in a positive direction.”
