Every year for the last five years, the Schiller Institute has led a solemn memorial ceremony to mark the tragic death on Dec. 25, 2016, of Russia’s fabled Alexandrov Ensemble, along with humanitarian workers and others, in a plane crash near Sochi, Russia. Over the years, the ceremony has been held at the Tear of Grief monument in Bayonne, N.J.—a monument gifted to the people of the United States by the government of Russia in honor of the fallen victims of 9/11—and each time it has been moderated by a representative of the City of Bayonne Fire Department, and it has heard from an official Russian representative at the United Nations. Every year, the enduring friendship of the Russian and American people has been its message and song.This year was no different, in those regards. And yet the ceremony held today carried with it a special urgency for action, given the extraordinary danger of thermonuclear war now facing the planet in the form of a kind of “reverse Cuban Missile Crisis” between the United States and Russia, as Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche put it in her remarks read to the event. Can such a threat be defused, and its causes degraded? Perhaps. Yesterday the State Department announced that the dates have now been set for three meetings to address the Russian government’s demand for written security guarantees to stop the relentless eastward drive of NATO up to its very borders, and the positioning of defensive and offensive strategic weapons in those countries. High-level Russian officials will meet with their U.S. counterparts on Jan. 10—preceded by another direct conversation between Presidents Biden and Putin on Dec. 30. On Jan. 12 there will then be a Russia-NATO meeting to also address these security matters. And on Jan. 13, Russia will meet with the OSCE. Substantive progress must come from these talks, including the signing of the two draft treaties that Russia has already proposed to the United States and NATO. Helga Zepp-LaRouche’s remarks read to today’s Alexandrov Ensemble memorial, sends the requisite message: “In the name of the Schiller Institute, I send you my thoughts on the anniversary of the tragic loss of the members of the Alexandrov Ensemble and a number of other Russians on their way to Syria five years ago. In the artistic work of that choir was and is expressed that quality which makes us human. “Unfortunately, our species finds itself right now in an incredible danger, in which the world is faced with a reverse Cuban Missile Crisis, to which the President of your country has reacted in an unmistakable fashion: He insists, rightfully, that the promises given to Russia around the time of the German Unification, that NATO would not move eastward, closer to the borders of Russia, and which were broken repeatedly, now belatedly be restated in a written and legally binding form—at least as it concerns Ukraine and Georgia. Indeed the history of the last 32 years is a history of an unbelievable series of lies and deceits to create a narrative to justify the vilification of Russia—to what end? “The Schiller Institute fully endorses the demand by Russia that these treaties must be signed, and that the world must be pulled back from the brink of the abyss. We must shift all efforts to solve the great catastrophes of a pandemic out of control; a famine of biblical dimensions; the greatest humanitarian crisis on the planet, in Afghanistan; and to eradicate poverty for billions of people. We must reach a new paradigm of our civilization, or we may not exist. “Let us revive the spirit of the cultural contribution of the Alexandrov Ensemble to mobilize the strength in ourselves to create a more human civilization!” Watch the video of the event here.

Vladimir Putin’s statement during his marathon press conference of Dec. 23 that “the first thing to do here is to unfreeze Afghanistan’s assets, the money it had in foreign, primarily American, banks, in order to provide the required assistance to the Afghan people. Otherwise, the country could plunge into famine; there will be grave consequences that will affect the neighboring states as well,” should be read as not necessarily identical to, but congruent with, Russia’s proposals concerning stopping the extension of NATO farther eastward. Putin’s statements represent a summary rejection of the Malthusian military outlook characteristic of both trans-Atlantic policies, each of which is based on population reduction in a different way. That same outlook was fought at the COP 26 Halloween Summit, and must now be fought in the worldwide war against pandemics. The Schiller Institute proposal, the pro-life, pro-development “Operation Ibn Sina,” to provide food, water, and medical treatment and supplies, now, is the proper springboard for immediate action and follow-up in Afghanistan, once funds were indeed released.This is the season of Hope. We don’t know, but have been told, and pass on for corroboration to any who can help verify the rumor, that signs have begun to appear in offices in and around Washington, including at the State Department, Pentagon, the House of Representatives and Senate, among other locations—even the CIA and FBI. They read, “WARNING: Marijuana and other drugs can severely compromise your ability to operate government machinery.” Perhaps with the assistance of the newly-launched James Webb telescope, signs of intelligent life can once again be spotted somewhere near the Washington Beltway. The return to sanity, or a reasonable facsimile thereof, in deliberative exchanges with nations such as China and Russia, might be the greatest present that the world could expect to receive from the United States at the beginning of the New Year. The appearance yesterday in the New York Post of an article entitled “Top Russian official likens Ukraine standoff to Cuban Missile Crisis” has broken the near-blackout in American media on the reality of the ongoing strategic confrontation between Russia and China on the one hand, and the United States on the other, which is most advanced at the moment in Ukraine. Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, no stranger to the United States (he served in the Russian consulate to Washington from 2002-2006 and is fluent in English), “has compared Moscow’s standoff with the West over a possible invasion of Ukraine to the Cuban Missile Crisis, the tense 1962 confrontation between the US and the Soviet Union that led the world to the brink of nuclear war.” More of Ryabkov’s remarks, as well as those of Sergei Lavrov and President Putin appear below. Former CIA analyst Ray McGovern, a co-founder of the Veterans Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS,) has asked why the United States agreed so quickly, as reported by Ryabkov yesterday, to meet with Russia on Monday, January 10, the first day after the end of Russia’s Christmas season. McGovern called attention to an address given to the Russian military by Putin two weeks after his December 7 phone discussion with Biden, in which Putin reported: “Incidentally, during our conversation he [Biden] actually proposed appointing senior officials to oversee [Russian concerns over U.S. missile deployments in Romania, Poland, and possibly Ukraine]…. It was in response to his proposal that we drafted our proposals on precluding the further eastward expansion of NATO and the deployment of offensive strike systems in the countries bordering on Russia." The Russian proposal was drafted as a response to an initiative proposed by the United States President. It is no”ultimatum." The chronology is significant. The Washington Post printed the story, “Russia planning massive military offensive against Ukraine involving 175,000 troops, U.S. intelligence warns” on Dec. 3, with the New York Times following suit on Dec. 5. Russia’s head of foreign intelligence, Sergei Naryshkin, had already responded a week earlier, on Sat., Nov. 27, to assertions made the day before by Karen Donfried, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, about a planned attack on Ukraine. At that time, according to Reuters, “U.S. President Joe Biden said he was concerned about the situation in Ukraine…and added that he will ‘in all probability’ speak with his Ukrainian and Russian counterparts Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Vladimir Putin.” The Putin-Biden conversation then occurred on Dec. 7, followed by the release of the Russian proposal, and its being reported in the New York Times on Dec. 17: “Russia Lays Out Demands for a Sweeping New Security Deal With NATO.” The Post further reported, “Asked if he was exaggerating by comparing the Ukraine situation to the stalemate over the deployment of Soviet missiles in Cuba, Sergei Ryabkov said, ‘No, not too much,’ Russian media reported Monday…. ‘We are not bluffing. These are our real proposals. The West’s awareness of this needs to be facilitated and we are going to make every effort to achieve it,’ Ryabkov, who is known for his over-the-top rhetoric, said in an interview with a Russian foreign affairs magazine….” LaRouche Organization forces know that since the 1970s, on several occasions, the impending danger of thermonuclear war precipitated dialogues involving "“East” and “West” in which this organization played a decisive, if marginal role. Lyndon LaRouche’s personal backchannel negotiations with the then-Soviet Union over the course of the Fall of 1981 through early 1983 resulted in the “miracle” of the Strategic Defense initiative (SDI) policy being adopted by President Ronald Reagan over the fierce opposition of the globalist forces against which FDR, LaRouche, and in this instance Reagan had campaigned for decades. Now, in the face of one of the greatest threats in humanity’s history—the inaction in response to the emergence of increasingly treatment-resistant bacteria and viruses worldwide, something to which LaRouche called attention as a threat five decades ago—Helga Zepp-LaRouche proposed a World Health Platform, as an international strategic intervention, to be organized by a “Committee for the Coincidence of Opposites.” She also indicated how a tactical-strategic instance of the application of this “Coincidence of Opposites” principle, as in Afghanistan’s “Operation Ibn Sina,” would provide the means to supersede war, famine, and disease. At the ongoing 30th anniversary meeting of the heads of state of the nine nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS,) Putin, addressing the coronavirus pandemic as the number one issue on the agenda, introduced Russia’s Chief Sanitary Physician, Anna Popova, to brief people on the current worldwide situation. “Considering the proximity of our states, the commonality of epidemic threats and the level of integration, one of our key tasks is to build a unified system for epidemic response and relief,” she said. Putin himself spoke about “joint scientific activities, the development of medications and preventive drugs, as well as exchanges of test kits and means of overcoming this disease.” Lyndon LaRouche’s Fall, 2001, “National Defense Against Germ Warfare,” in the section subtitled “National Defense As Sanitation,” identified something with which Putin is familiar, and that any sane head of state should quickly learn: "The most important principles of national defense against bacteriological and related forms of warfare, were consolidated as knowledge in the experience of World War II and the war in Korea. Those lessons were featured in the adoption and implementation of the Hill-Burton legislation adopted shortly after the close of World War II…. “We must situate the role of the medical profession, both in care for the sick and in other ways, as an essential, subsumed feature of public sanitation….” Once again, by returning to the outlook of the United States of Franklin Roosevelt, the true self-interest of a United States facing tens, if not hundreds of millions of cases of infectious disease in the short term, can be re-established by organizing the worldwide symposium proposed by Helga Zepp-LaRouche and Dr. Jocelyn Elders, and extending that to the world as a whole as rapidly as possible. That way lies hope, and humanity’s immediate way forward.

The following is the introductory section of a Schiller Institute memorandum issued Dec. 24, “Are We Sleepwalking Into Thermonuclear World War III,” which is available in full on the Schiller Institute website.You are being lied to. Russia is not planning to invade Ukraine. Putin is not a “bad actor” out to recreate the Soviet Empire. Ukraine is not a fledgling democracy just minding its own business. As a summary review of the documented record shows, Ukraine is being used by geopolitical forces in the West that answer to the bankrupt speculative financial system, as the flashpoint to trigger a strategic showdown with Russia, a showdown which is already more dangerous than the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, and which could easily end up in a thermonuclear war that no one will win, and none would survive.Consider the facts as we present them in the abbreviated timeline below. Russia, like China, has been increasingly subjected to the threat of being destroyed by two distinct kinds of “nuclear war” by the bellicose and bankrupt U.K.-U.S. financial Establishment: 1) “first-use nuclear action,” as stated most explicitly by the demented Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MS); and 2) the “nuclear option” in financial warfare, measures so extreme that they would be tantamount to laying financial siege to Russia to try to starve the nation into submission, as is being done against Afghanistan. Russia has now announced, for the whole world to hear, that its red line is about to be crossed, after which Russia will be forced to respond with “retaliatory military-technical measures.” That red line, it has made clear, is the further advance of U.S. and NATO military forces up to the very border with Russia, including the positioning of defensive and offensive nuclear-capable missile systems a scarce 5-minutes flight time from Moscow. Russia has presented two draft international treaties—one with the United States, the other with NATO—which would provide legal guarantees that NATO’s eastward march will stop, that Ukraine and Georgia in particular would not be invited to join NATO, and that advanced weapons systems will not be placed at Russia’s doorstep. These are neither more nor less than the verbal guarantees given to the Soviet Union in 1990 by the duplicitous Bush and Thatcher governments, guarantees that have been systematically violated ever since. They are neither more nor less than what President John F. Kennedy demanded of Khrushchev during the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, which was successfully defused by the deft back-channel negotiations of JFK’s personal envoy, his brother Bobby Kennedy, out of sight of the pro-war military-industrial complex. It is urgently necessary that the United States and NATO promptly sign those proposed treaties with Russia—and step back from the edge of thermonuclear extinction. What we chronicle below has been happening, step by step, while most people around the world were asleep at the switch. It is time to wake up, before we sleepwalk into thermonuclear World War III. The Military Component The past 30 years of strategic relations between the U.S. and NATO on the one side and Russia on the other is littered with broken promises, beginning immediately after the fall of the Berlin Wall in November of 1989. Already in February of 1990, then-Secretary of State James Baker was in Moscow promising Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev and Foreign Minister Eduard Shevardnadze that in the wake of German reunification, which was to come about later that year, that if U.S. troops remained in Germany, there would be no expansion of NATO “one inch to the east.” But it wouldn’t take long before the Department of Defense would be plotting exactly that, with the process getting fully underway during the administration of President Bill Clinton. The first round of post-German unification expansion of NATO came in 1999 with the admission of Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic, followed in 2004 by all three Baltic states, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Four more Balkan countries joined in the years following, bringing NATO’s membership up to 30 countries. In the middle of that process, during the George W. Bush Administration, the U.S. also began to dismantle the system of strategic arms control assembled during the Cold War, beginning with the U.S. withdrawal from the 1972 ABM Treaty. The Trump Administration accelerated the process by withdrawing the U.S. from the INF Treaty and the Open Skies Treaty, leaving only the New START treaty, which was extended by President Joe Biden shortly after he took office, as the only nuclear arms control treaty remaining between the U.S. and Russia. The turning point in the current war danger came in 2014. The ongoing efforts to pull Ukraine into the EU common market through the Ukrainian-European Association Agreement, were rejected as untenable by Ukraine’s Viktor Yanukovych government in late 2013, when it became clear that it would de facto associate Ukraine with NATO and grant European goods unlimited access to the Russian market. Yanukovych’s turn against the EU led to the “Euromaidan” protests by proponents of aligning Ukraine with the European Union, which in January 2014 escalated into deadly clashes as these demonstrations were taken over by pro-Nazi elements, including those associated with the figure of Stepan Bandera, the notorious Ukrainian Nazi who worked closely with Hitler during World War II. In February, the violence escalated, and Yanukovych was driven from office, and the new government began to adopt strong measures against the Russian-speaking minority in Ukraine, especially in Crimea and the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in eastern Ukraine. All of this was done with full backing from London and Washington, with U.S. State Department official Victoria Nuland playing a prominent role. On March 16, 2014, a referendum was held in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the local government of Sevastopol, asking the populations whether they wanted to join the Russian Federation or retain Crimea’s status as a part of Ukraine. In Crimea, 97% voted for integration into the Russian Federation with an 83% voter turnout; in Sevastopol there was also a 97% vote for reintegration into the Russian Federation with an 89% voter turnout. There was no “Russian military invasion of Ukraine,” nor forcible changing of any borders. All throughout this time period, Moscow protested NATO’s eastward march, but to no avail. “Despite our numerous protests and pleas, the American machine has been set into motion, the conveyor belt is moving forward,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his dramatic March 1, 2018 Address to the Federal Assembly, in which he publicly announced the new generation of strategic weapons that Russia had under development, at least two of which, the Avangard hypersonic glide vehicle for ICBMs and the Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missile, have since been introduced into service.

The Russian government is shouting from every rooftop that their strategic red lines are about to be crossed, and that they will respond unless the U.S. and NATO start negotiating seriously. Yesterday’s expanded meeting of the Defense Ministry Board served as the forum for extensive comments about this by both President Vladimir Putin and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. Putin also spoke by phone on Dec. 21 with India’s Narendra Modi, Germany’s Olaf Scholz, and France’s Emmanuel Macron, and hammered on the same point with each of them. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also had blunt comments on the matter.These developments are being widely covered by live Russian TV broadcasts, while they are by and large blacked out in the West, whose population continues to live in the Valley of the Clueless as the world careens towards another Cuban Missile Crisis. TASS reported that, after listening to Shoigu’s report to the Defense Ministry Board, Putin stated: “They [the U.S.] simply do what they want [in other parts of the world]. But what they are doing on the territory of Ukraine now, or trying to do and going to do — this is not thousands of kilometers away from our national border. This is at the doorstep of our home. They must understand that we simply have nowhere to retreat further.” Putin went on: “The United States does not possess hypersonic weapons yet, but we know when they will have them…. They will put hypersonic weapons in Ukraine, and then, under their cover—that does not mean that they will start using them tomorrow, because we already have Zircon [hypersonic missiles] and they do not—they will arm and push extremists from the neighboring state against Russia, including into certain regions of the Russian Federation, for example, Crimea, when they think circumstances are favorable…. Do they think we don’t see these threats? Or do they think that we are so weak-willed to simply look blankly at the threats posed to Russia? That is the problem: we simply have nowhere to move further, that’s the question,” Putin said. Sputnik further quoted Putin: “As I have already noted, in the event of the continuation of the obviously aggressive line of our Western colleagues, we will take adequate retaliatory military-technical measures, and react toughly to unfriendly steps. And, I want to emphasize, we have every right to do so, we have every right to take actions designed to ensure the security and sovereignty of Russia…. We are extremely concerned about the deployment of elements of the U.S. global missile defense system near Russia.” Putin then carefully explained: "We already see that some of our detractors are interpreting them [Russia’s draft treaty documents] as Russia’s ultimatum. Is it an ultimatum or not? Of course not…. Armed conflicts and bloodshed are absolutely not our choice. We do not want to see events go that way. We want to use political and diplomatic means to resolve problems but we want to at least have clearly formulated legal guarantees. This is what our proposals are all about. We set them down on paper and sent them to Brussels and Washington, and we hope to receive a clear and comprehensive response to these proposals. “There are certain signals that our partners appear to be willing to work on that. However, there is also a danger that they will attempt to drown our proposals in words, or in a swamp, in order to take advantage of this pause and do whatever they want to do.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping held what amounted to an emergency summit meeting today by video conference. Announced only two days ago, the summit directly addressed two distinct kinds of “nuclear war” being threatened against the two countries by the bellicose and bankrupt U.K.-U.S. financial Establishment: The Dec. 7 call by Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MS) to consider “first-use nuclear action” military strikes against Russia, using the Ukraine crisis as justification. Wicker is the second ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee. Despite the storm of protests from the left and the right that his remarks unleashed, the Senator has yet to retract his demented provocation. Moreover, the NATO drive eastward, along with the arming of Ukraine and other nations on Russia’s very border, is continuing relentlessly—a drive which Russia continues to warn is crossing a red-line and will lead to a Russian response. The repeated call to carry out the “nuclear option” in financial warfare against Russia—expelling them from the SWIFT global financial payments system. This would be tantamount to laying financial siege to Russia, to try to starve them into submission, as is being done against Afghanistan. This “nuclear option” was called for just last week by U.S. Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, the architect of the 2014 Nazi coup d’état in Ukraine, and it was publicly threatened by Secretary of State Tony Blinken right after the Dec. 7 summit talks between Biden and Putin. Similar threats were voiced by President Biden himself immediately before his June 2021 meeting with Putin. What did Putin and Xi discuss today when the cameras for the press were turned off? They clearly reviewed the danger of war, and their commitment to help strengthen each other’s security in the face of threats surrounding both Ukraine and Taiwan. Otherwise, the public account provided by Kremlin adviser Yuri Ushakov provides further insight: “Particular attention was paid by the two leaders to the need to intensify efforts to form an independent financial infrastructure to service trade operations between Russia and China,” Ushakov reported. “We mean creating an infrastructure that cannot be influenced by third countries.” Does this mean that Russia and China are about to announce that they are breaking with the dollar system, and decoupling their economies from the West? Probably not. Does it mean that they have put in place defensive measures to deal with a financial “nuclear option” launched against them? Probably so. Helga Zepp-LaRouche commented today that if Russia and China are driven to adopt full-scale countermeasures against the SWIFT system, this could well be the straw that breaks the camel’s back of the entire bankrupt trans-Atlantic financial system. Fortunately, the potential of China’s Belt and Road Initiative is available to take its place, and to replace today’s Malthusian policy of deindustrialization and depopulation with a new system focused on high-technology physical economic growth. Take a step back and consider Putin’s recent diplomacy—the same Putin whom Lyndon LaRouche frequently described as a “strategic genius” who should not be underestimated. Putin made sure to flank his critical Dec. 7 summit with President Biden: before, with a Dec. 6 summit meeting in New Delhi with India’s Prime Minister Modi; and after, with today’s emergency summit with President Xi. Another topic raised between Putin and Xi, according to Ushakov, was the intention of holding a three-way summit of Russia-India-China in the immediate future. And the United States? President Biden, along with circles that might be described as “realists” in Washington, seems inclined to seek a negotiated solution to the crisis surrounding Russia and Ukraine. But his policy palace guard—Blinken, Sullivan, Nuland et al.—is not, and for now they are dominant in Washington. Nor are the owners of the Western speculative financial system in a mood to negotiate—they can’t. Their system is in a breakdown collapse, and their only hope is to force through a transition to a fascist, Malthusian order. America, to survive and prosper, will have to adopt the pathway long-recommended by Lyndon LaRouche, of establishing a four-power alliance with the power to usher in a New Paradigm of global development—an alliance among the U.S., Russia, China and India, acting on behalf of all humanity.

Ten years ago, in the immediate aftermath of the Oct. 20, 2011 murder of Libya’s Muammar Qaddafi, Lyndon LaRouche wrote an article on Oct. 28, 2011 titled: “Threat of World War III: Qaddafi’s Death” In it. LaRouche stated:“In the opinion of certain relevant, higher placed circles in the trans-Atlantic region, the extraordinary mass-execution of the former Libyan principal Muammar al-Qaddafi and his companions, in their attempted flight from Libya, signals a potential for an early outbreak of more general warfare within Europe, the Mediterranean region, and beyond: potentially a new general state of warfare throughout much of this planet. This were probably the included outcome, unless a radical correction in trans-Atlantic financial and related policies were made more or less immediately. The object is to prevent that general warfare from occurring…. “The manner in which British-directed interests, acting in concert with the British puppet known as U.S. President Barack Obama, have created and manipulated the recent warfare within Libya, has now created a serious, more or less immediate threat-potential of a ‘Third World War.’ This is a threat potential which is coincident with the immediately threatened, general breakdown-crisis of the already hyper-bankrupt, trans-Atlantic monetarist system…. It is the accumulated potential triggered by the Libya affair, which has now cocked the potential for a sudden eruption of a pattern of active general warfare. “Long nurtured potentials for the greatest of wars, explode into great wars which have been prepared, in fact, over long periods when the victims were sleeping.” Three months later, in a Jan. 18, 2012 webcast, LaRouche elaborated on the British Establishment’s intention of launching war against Russia and China. “Now, the purpose of doing this was not to conduct a war against Syria and Iran—that was not the purpose. That was the sideshow. What you had, if you looked at the map, and looked at the Eastern Mediterranean and the bay around Iran, you saw the greatest concentration of thermonuclear-warfare capabilities on this planet, represented by the forces of the United States, Britain, and other powers. Why would they have to have the thermonuclear capabilities of major powers and others combined, against two small nations—a relatively very small nation, Syria, and a medium-size small nation, shall we say, Iran: Why? “Because their target wasn’t Syria, their target wasn’t Iran. Their target was—as we know now, from the diplomatic scandals that have broken out in Washington and Europe—the target was Russia and China. What does that mean? Why should Britain and the United States, and other nations, wish to launch thermonuclear war, against two great thermonuclear powers, Russia and China? And you have a nuclear power, Pakistan; and India’s also a thermonuclear power…. “So therefore, what’s the point? The British now say, what’s the purpose of this? They told you: The purpose is, as the Queen of England and others have insisted, their intention is to reduce the population of the planet, from 7 billion people to 1 or less! Their argument is the Green policy! And therefore, if you want to have a Green policy, and what that connotes, you can not tolerate Russia’s existence; you can not tolerate 1.4 billion people in China; you can not tolerate 1.1 billion people in India, and other nations. Therefore, this is a British operation, run under the Green policy of Her Majesty the Queen and her cohorts to change the character of the planet, in this way. In other words, these guys make Hitler look like a piker!”

Both President Joe Biden and President Vladimir Putin made public comments today about the actual content of their summit discussion yesterday. Biden announced that he is working on a further meeting to address Russia’s red-line concerns regarding Ukraine and NATO. “The positive news is that, thus far, our teams have been in constant contact,” Biden said, adding that he hoped to announce by Dec. 10 that there would be a meeting in short order involving Russia, the U.S., and at least four major NATO allies, to address “Russia’s concerns relative to NATO,” and to try to “bring down the temperature along the Eastern Front.”President Putin today again explained what those red-line concerns are: “It would be criminal inaction on our side to spinelessly watch all that’s taking place” in Ukraine, he said, and continuing: “We have a right to provide for our own safety. U.S./NATO weapons are the issue.” As Putin has repeatedly explained, the encroachment of NATO up to Russia’s very borders over the last 20 years, and now the explicit threat of having Ukraine join NATO or otherwise have American and NATO troops on its territory, makes Moscow indefensible—other than by the use of hypersonic nuclear weapons. Each side would then have nuclear weapons within 5-minutes flight time from the other, Putin pointed out. Or would it be four minutes? Right after yesterday’s summit, Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov told the press that Biden said to Putin at their summit that he would discuss NATO’s eastward expansion with his Alliance colleagues. That appears to have been born out by Biden’s own comments today. But on Washington’s side, the lies are coming fast and thick—signaling the enormous danger of war that not only still exists, but is growing by the hour. The war party has moved to entirely take control of strategic policy out of Biden’s hands, and to immediately escalate the provocations against both Russia and China to the snapping point. Secretary of State Tony Blinken and National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan participated in the summit with Putin, acting like Biden’s chaperones the whole time, while Putin sat alone. Blinken and Sullivan then emerged from that meeting to immediately run to the press to issue statements about what had supposedly happened at the summit—making zero mention of the planned meeting to address Russia’s concerns. Instead, Sullivan said that Biden read Putin the Riot Act. Blinken was chillingly clear in delivering threats and warnings to both Russia and China, blaming them for the Ukraine and Taiwan crises, respectively, and threatening a blistering U.S. response to any military moves those countries might make. Blinken was particularly brazen about the Establishment’s gambit in pulling out of Afghanistan, actually arguing that the American people do still have “an appetite … to re-engage overseas if necessary”—i.e., launch more perennial wars, only this time directly against Russia and China, exactly as Lyndon LaRouche had warned all along was the true strategic intention behind the Libya, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, etc. provocations. If there is no significant opposition in the U.S. to such a war between the superpowers, then it will happen, Helga Zepp-LaRouche warned today. The Ukraine crisis is far from over, and the London-led war party is on a rampage, as can be seen in Blinken’s threats against both Russia and China and his explicit intent to starve Afghanistan into submission—a Nuremberg crime if ever there was one. Will Americans just look the other way while a sitting Senator, Robert Wicker of Mississippi, states on national TV that “I would not rule out American troops on the ground” in Ukraine, and that the U.S. also shouldn’t “rule out first-use nuclear action” to deter Russia? Zepp-LaRouche further warned that, if this goes any further, the countries in Europe where nuclear weapons are stationed will shortly cease to exist. On both sides of the Atlantic, it should begin to dawn on people what the existence of hypersonic weapons actually means. In her weekly webcast today, Zepp-LaRouche summarized the situation and issued a call to action: “My assessment [of the summit] is that we are still sitting on a powder keg of potential nuclear war…. I think this is all extremely dangerous and we urgently need a new security architecture in Europe and in Eurasia which rules out the possible danger of a nuclear war…. Hopefully reason will prevail and this incredibly dangerous situation can be turned into something else.” She reminded listeners of her proposed Operation Ibn Sina, in which the world’s major powers would join efforts to stop the looming mass deaths in Afghanistan, and provide that country with a modern health system, adequate food, and the infrastructure needed to make that possible. “Under conditions of a pandemic—which not only has health implications, but is a complete threat to the economy, as we see in many countries—the only way you can address the most urgent issues facing humanity is to say: We have to concentrate on the common aims of mankind, namely to defeat this pandemic, and we have to work together internationally. This would be a step in the direction of overcoming this insane, extremely dangerous geopolitical confrontation.” Zepp-LaRouche urged listeners to mobilize with the Schiller Institute to stop the danger of nuclear war. “And cooperate with us on Operation Ibn Sina, because it is a step towards defusing an otherwise extremely dangerous situation.”

On Nov. 26, the Foreign Ministers of Russia, India and China—the RIC cooperation organization—held an online video-conference meeting which produced an agreement among these three powerhouse nations on a set of substantive strategic policy issues: the need for a coordinated global fight against COVID-19; the urgency of international aid for Afghanistan, to stop the looming starvation in that country; the need to jointly fight against the drug trade and related terrorism; and the need to organize a new system of international relations based on win-win cooperation.Given the serious tensions between India and China over recent years, which the British have manipulated and exacerbated to keep India out of the Belt and Road Initiative, the RIC results were a significant strategic advance. Also yesterday, the Foreign Ministry of India announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin will travel to India Dec. 6 for his first in-person summit in two years with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Their agenda will be quite broad, and will include cooperation on major infrastructure projects; partnership in nuclear, space and defense sectors; and deepening India’s ties with the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). What London and Washington most fear is that the Putin-Modi summit could play a useful role in helping India get on track for in-depth cooperation with China’s Belt and Road Initiative. Although still tentative, these Asian-centered developments point in the right direction for the planet. In the West, however, a new Olympic record of policy failure on top of policy failure is being set almost daily. Right on the heels of the COP26 fiasco, the world is now being struck by a new COVID-19 variant—the Omicron variant—which scientists fear could be about to break through the existing vaccine protection. And if it is not Omicron, if we get lucky and dodge this bullet, it will be the next variant, or the one after that. The point is, the slow and woefully incomplete vaccination of the entire world, along with the lack of modern health systems in every nation, has left us vulnerable to such a disaster. What is happening is exactly what Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche warned would happen, if we did not adopt the necessary policy of universal vaccination and a world network of advanced health systems in every nation. These are precisely the policies promoted by the Open Letter to virologists and other medical experts by former U.S. Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders, and by Zepp-LaRouche’s Operation Ibn Sina. It may be five minutes to midnight, but it is not too late to adopt these policies, and get the United States and the nations of Europe on a sane policy path. We use the U.S. Constitution to do that…. “Now, if the United States says, that we are going to back up our dollar, and enters into an agreement with Russia, China, and India, to join us, with other countries, in doing the same thing, to put the world through bankruptcy reorganization, in which we will cancel most of the outstanding financial obligations: It has to happen. Otherwise, no planet! If you try to collect on quadrillions of dollars of outstanding claims, from whom are you going to collect, by what means, and what’s the effect? It is against natural law, to collect on that debt! How many people are you going to kill, to collect that debt? How many countries are you going to destroy, to collect that debt?”

The manifest failure of the COP26 summit to get the entire world to drink the Kool-Aid of the British Empire’s Malthusian Green Reset policy—thanks principally to the resistance of developing countries such as India, Nigeria, Indonesia, China and also Russia—has bought the world a little time. But only a little.The entire trans-Atlantic sector is still in the throes of a systemic breakdown crisis. Hyperinflation is still spinning out of control, now hitting food as well as energy supplies with increases of 30% per year and more. The physical economy continues to plummet, threatening the survival of entire nations. Zepp-LaRouche continued: "People should wake up, because this is a moment in history when decisions will be made. Whether mankind tumbles into a new crisis, sleepwalks into a new war, goes into a new depression; or, if we take the alternatives which exist. And they emphatically exist in the form of the Belt and Road Initiative which, China has said many times, is open for every country: for the United States, for Europe, for all. “So rather than having this geopolitical obsession, I think people should just say: We have to concentrate on the common aims of mankind, and then we can all build a beautiful future together”—with the economic, political and cultural road map developed by Lyndon LaRouche, and presented at the Schiller Institute’s just-concluded conference of Nov. 13-14.

As the British Empire licks its wounds over the failure of COP26, as Prince Charles and the western banking elite failed to force the developing nations of the world to commit suicide by shutting down their fossil fuels, several leaders of the western powers today took the most unusual—and most welcome—step of trying to pull back from the brink of military confrontation with Russia and China.U.S. President Joe Biden spent three and a half hours, until after midnight, in a virtual face-to-face discussion with President Xi Jinping, potentially pulling back from the saber rattling over Taiwan and collaborating in facing the world health crisis. German Chancellor Angela Merkel spent nearly an hour speaking with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, undermining the war party’s campaign to hold a color revolution against the Belarus President and provoking military action on the Poland-Belarus border. French President Emmanuel Macron spent one and three-quarter hours on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin, addressing the migrant issue on the Belarus-Poland border, but also other hotspots, including Ukraine and Libya. In all three cases, the war party was not pleased, as you will see below. It is not a coincidence that these quite sane diplomatic initiatives take place at this time. The failure of the climate-disaster hoax in Glasgow was followed by an historic Schiller Institute conference on Nov. 13-14, which addressed real solutions to the existential crisis facing mankind today, with leading speakers from around the world demonstrating that: 1) the strategic confrontation pitting the U.S. against Russia and China is both insane and avoidable; 2) the hyperinflationary explosion now underway is intentional, but can be resolved with LaRouche’s Four Laws and a new Bretton Woods conference; 3) the notion that carbon causes global warming, justifying the destruction of productive economies worldwide while ignoring mass starvation in places such as Afghanistan and Haiti, is a conscious lie; and 4) the cultural disintegration into a new Dark Age of drugs, sexual perversity, and glorified violence can, and must be, reversed through a global renaissance, drawing on the greatest periods of every nation’s cultural heritage. Global TImes reported that Biden made three promises: that the U.S. would not seek to change the Chinese system; that the U.S. revitalization of alliances would not be aimed at China; and that there would be no intentional clash with China. Taking a long view of history, as Lyndon LaRouche insisted throughout his life, Xi said: “The most important event in international relations in the coming 50 years will be for China and the US to find the right way to get along. History is a fair judge.” He called for the US and China to work together, especially in addressing the global health emergency. But the international crisis has not been resolved. The danger of global war is greater than at any time since World War II. The financial breakdown is accelerating. The COVID19 pandemic has doubled over the past two weeks, not abated. The drug scourge has doubled over the past decade, while mindless politicians across the US continue legalizing the poison which is destroying their children. What will be the fate of the Glasgow silly season, that calls for $130 trillion in expenditures for a problem that does not exist? Remember Paul “Population Bomb” Ehrlich’s infamous August 1969 forecast, reported in the New York Times? “The trouble with almost all environmental problems is that by the time we have enough evidence to convince people, you’re dead. We must realize that unless we are extremely lucky, everybody will disappear in a cloud of blue steam in 20 years.” We did not disappear in 1989, but the Berlin Wall did, on November 9 of that year. It was an event beyond the imagination of nearly all, especially the Malthusians. It seemed, even as it happened, to be impossible, except to one statesman, who had “visualized the complex domain” of world strategy. Oh ignorant, self-seeking cupidity which spurs us so in the short mortal life and steeps us so through all eternity!! —Dante, Inferno, Canto XII A relative handful of individuals, assembled as patriots and world-citizens, unafraid to recognize the greatness of the contributions of all cultures to all others, and prepared to challenge all false ideological constraints in favor of extending technological progress to every sector of the planet, now has the ability to wrest control from the failed “armies of the night.” Even at the “silly summit,” on its sidelines, the application of nuclear power to the world energy grid is finding inevitable momentum, albeit through the false “saving carbon emissions” distortion. As we go into the final days of organizing for the conference, “All Moral Resources of Humanity Have to be Called Up: Mankind Must Be An Immortal Species!” let us note that, whether in Afghanistan, with Operation Ibn Sina, or Haiti, with our development program, or with the World Health Platform to overcome the pandemic, the Schiller Institute, as an anti-Malthusian resistance, must sound the morally certain trumpet. “It is not true, as one usually hears the claim made, that the audience degrades art; the artist degrades the audience, and at all times when art degenerated, it fell because of the artists,” Schiller tells us. This means the immediate construction of hundreds of nuclear power plants (perhaps a thousand or more with the SMR designs) over the next 10-20 years. Tragedy is not the natural condition of humanity. COP 26’s parade of circus acts could not pass muster. We are free to make the same “species-type” of miracle that occurred on November 9, 1989, but only by using the method of physical economy taught by Lyndon LaRouche, the man who saw the way to unify nations, and to do it without war, for the benefit of all people.

The third and final week of the COP26 summit is now underway in Glasgow, and that Malthusian jamboree is expected to finally come to a shuddering halt on Friday, Nov. 12.It has done great damage. Many nations have been bludgeoned and blackmailed into walking off the gangplank into de-carbonization and de-growth—South Africa comes to mind. Others have been threatened into swearing fealty to a policy that will eventually destroy them, if it is in fact implemented—as with the case of Argentina. The bankrupt bankers of the world united in Glasgow to demand that hundreds of trillions of dollars be channeled to their latest and greatest speculative bubble. And Prince Charles pranced about on every prominent platform provided to him, declaring war to implement the Empire’s policy, summarized so eloquently by his dead father’s dictum: “In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, to contribute something to solving overpopulation.” But perhaps worst of all, the population across the planet has been subjected to endless media brainwashing about the so-called “science” of climate change, which has left countless millions of youth, in particular, pessimistic, depressed, and despairing over the future of our species, and their own purpose in life. And yet with all that, COP26 is shaping up as a strategic failure for its Establishment architects, with Russia, China and even India dragging their feet on the green agenda, if it means detaining their own growth. The Presidents of Nigeria and Uganda delivered a vehement rejection of any green agenda that would deny Africa the right to grow and industrialize. Indonesia just said “no.” And President Biden himself had trouble putting a brave face on the fact that he couldn’t even get Congress to approve a carbon tax, not to mention the population’s broad rejection of his entire economic and social agenda in the Nov. 2 elections. In short, it seems that Americans—like their brothers and sisters in China, Russia, and Africa—are in no mood to commit suicide. Each in their way this week delivered a resounding “No!” to the policies they see destroying them and their nations. That is healthy… but insufficient. Rejection is not the same thing as a Renaissance. The crucial missing element—the positive concept of Man and associated economic, scientific and cultural policies—will be the central focus of the upcoming Schiller Institute conference, which will meet under the concept: “All Moral Resources of Humanity Have to Be Called Up: Mankind Must Be the Immortal Species!” That historic two-day conference will begin on Saturday, Nov. 13—the day after the lights are at last turned out on the COP26 summit.

President Joe Biden reflected the British Empire’s frustration and disappointment at the direction things have taken at the COP26 summit in Glasgow, in remarks to the press yesterday: “I indicated that China and Russia not showing up — and Saudi Arabia — is a problem,” Biden said. “We showed up, and by showing up, we’ve had a profound impact on the way I think the rest of the world is looking at the United States and its leadership role,” Biden said.Biden then wagged his finger sternly at China in particular: “I think it’s been a big mistake, quite frankly, for China, with respect to China, not showing up. The rest of the world will look to China and say, ‘What value-added are they providing?’ And they’ve lost an ability to influence people around the world and all the people here at COP. The same way, I would argue, with regard to Russia.” The irony was not lost on Steve Milloy, a Heartland Institute leader and founder of JunkScience.com, who told Fox News: “Biden’s slam of Chinese President Xi and Russian President Putin for not showing up at COP26 is a sad indication of Biden’s failure to grasp or accept real-world realities…. Neither country has any interest in hamstringing its own economy with destructive climate regulations.” He continued: “Rather, Xi and Putin seem to have taken to heart the Napoleonic principle of never interfering with your opponent while he is in the process of destroying himself, which is exactly what the U.S. and Europe are doing with their suicidal embrace of climate idiocy.” COP26 has indeed not gone the way the British Royals had envisioned and demanded. Prince Charles had announced 18 months ago that the world had precisely 18 months left to fully implement the Malthusian Green Reset, and that goal has for sure not been met. Putin is making fun of the entire COP26 endeavor; China has praised the green intention but stubbornly insisted that its own priorities are different and come first; India has agreed to promise anything and everything under the Sun—for 2070, a half century from today. And even significant layers of an American population benumbed by media barrages and other drugs, have at least remembered how to say “no,” as the Nov. 2 elections made clear. But “no” alone won’t work—not internationally, and not in the U.S. The “yes” part—the elaboration and implementation of the viable economic, scientific and cultural policies to forge a new Renaissance, as uniquely provided by Lyndon LaRouche over the past half-century, will be addressed in depth at the upcoming Schiller Institute conference on Nov. 13-14.

Now is the time for the movement founded by Lyndon LaRouche and headed by Helga Zepp-LaRouche to assemble a worldwide anti-Malthusian resistance. The indispensable concept to be supplied, that the LaRouche movement brings to this discussion, and without the which there is no hope for defeating the oligarchical enemy, is the increase of available energy, per capita and square kilometer, for the whole human race, with a particular emphasis on those areas where population growth is most clearly expected in the next fifty years—the continents of Asia and Africa. Though some world leaders are now seeking to stand up to the “carbon colonialism” of the Great Reset, and the “Ghouls Gone Wild” blood-feast at Glasgow, they lack any clear sense of an alternative, and often entertain, if only to be overheard doing so, the pagan “Mother Earth” mantra, or the “carbon dioxide is a real threat” mantra. We cannot allow the degradation of the terms of the discussion into merely seeming to discuss the truth, as LaRouche discusses in his “Riemann Refutes Euler” article.For example, Bolivian President Luis Arce said in his COP 26 speech that “developed countries are promoting a new world recolonization process that we can call the ‘new carbon colonialism,’ because they are trying to impose their own rules of the game in the climate negotiations to continue feeding the new green capitalist system, while pushing developing nations to accept these rules of the game without any other options.” True, but then what? Clearly Bolivia has defended nuclear power as a right of all people, but then, when Arce, an economist, says, in the same speech, that “The solution is to change the model of civilization and move towards an alternative model to capitalism, the concept of living well together in harmony with Mother Earth,” the flaw, and the trap, become clear. Unless the LaRouche notion of energy flux-density, and “the increase of the rate of increase” of energy flux-density, through advanced technologies such as nuclear and thermonuclear power, is understood, mastered, and defended in its own right, no matter how militant the message of opposition to the Great Reset may sound, it will signify nothing; the same tragedy will play out. No “redistributionist” approach will outwit, for example, Lynn Rothschid’s Council for Inclusive Capitalism, which, like Bolivia’s President, calls for “an alternative view of capitalism,”—though they mean something very “indifferent” than he. We need to instantly change the terms of discourse, everywhere in the world, in unexpected ways. Consider how an alert organizer intersected Pope Francis’s call for prayers for Haiti, now undergoing the dissolution of the nation, and threatening the same for the Dominican Republic. Simply by placing a link to our program for Haiti, as itself a physical-economic template for how to approach solving, not only the problem of Haiti, but the problem of many other nations in the Caribbean sector, a liberated discussion of the higher resolution became possible. The function of collaboration with nations, including China, was defined. In that sense, the Pope’s call for prayer was answered: “God, help us—with our right arm.” In the Schiller Institute’s Committee for the Coincidence of Opposites approach, for example, the Afghanistan situation can be seen, and organized, as a workshop for a collaboration of Russia, China, the United States, and India, lessening the danger of war which is otherwise worsening virtually by the hour. It is a “win-win”military strategy of engagement, without recourse to arms and war. The “Operation Ibn Sina” world health emergency intervention is no more a mere medical or “humanitarian” idea, than Ibn Sina was merely a self-taught country physician. Consider: Ibn Sina is not only claimed as a “native son” by many areas and countries in southwest Asia; he is also widely recognized in intellectual history as a pivotal figure in the dialogue between Islam and Christianity, and “East” and “West,” because of his theological and metaphysical writings, prefiguring Nicholas of Cusa in certain respects. If one bothers to think about Arnold Toynbee’s and Bernard Lewis’s gnostic emphasis and predatory approach to both Islam and Christianity, and their virulent opposition to both when it comes to the question of their shared theological mandate to “increase and multiply” the human population, then the “clash of civilizations” strategy of British intelligence, including its pagan-religious side, can more easily be seen, including in their RIIA and Prince Charles “ecocide” and “eco-army” manifestations. “They are neither man nor woman, they are neither brute nor human—they are pestilential carcasses disparted from their souls, called ghouls.” Prince Charles at COP 26 proposed (or, more clearly, disclosed) a war on the human race that was the “fever dream” of not only his father Phillip, and Phillip’s World Wildlife Fund co-founder Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, but of the European synarchist political movements of the 1930s that had shaped both, and even the Queen, as a young child, herself. “Climate change and biodiversity loss … pose an even greater existential threat than the COVID-19 pandemic, to the extent that we have to put ourselves on a war-like footing. We know what we must do. With a growing global population creating ever increasing demand on the planet’s finite resources, we have to reduce emissions urgently, and take action to tackle the carbon already in the atmosphere, including from coal-powered power systems….” “Our efforts cannot be a series of independent initiatives running in parallel; the scale and scope of the threat we face, call for a global systems-level solution…” Sir David Attenborough, the close collaborator of Prince Phillip and a central promoter of the “pre-Gaia” “natural religion” outlook more familiar to people through the work of Joseph Campbell and Carl Jung, was applauded, but not for his undiscussed views of population. They include the idea that 75% of the present British population is superfluous. (What’s he thinking about Africa?) Attenborough says, on the website of his organization, Population Matters: “All our environmental problems become easier to solve with fewer people, and harder—and ultimately impossible—to solve with ever more people.” Hannibal Lecter commenting on the speeches of Attenborough and of the three Windsors (the Queen, Charles, and Phillip, whose speech was in the form of the virus that people will shortly recognize they contracted during the other two speeches), said, “I may be a cannibal, but I have standards.” The world deserves better than the inedible Windsors. POSTSCRIPT: A TREE GROWS IN RUSSIA? (Note in this briefing Vladimir Putin’s surgical-ironical intervention into COP 26, concerning Russia’s coming contribution to reforestation. In that context, consider the following.) In his essay, “The Question of Global warming,” scientist Freeman Dyson writes: “It is likely that biotechnology will dominate our lives in our economic activities during the second half of the 21st-century, just as computer technology dominated our lives in our economy during the second half of the 20th. Biotechnology could be a great equalizer, spreading wealth over the world wherever there is land and air and water and sunlight. This has nothing to do with the misguided efforts that are now being made to reduce carbon emissions by growing corn and converting it into ethanol fuel. The ethanol program fails to reduce emissions and incidentally hurts poor people all over the world by raising the price of food. After we have mastered biotechnology the rules of the climate game will be radically changed. In the world economy based on biotechnology, some low-cost and environmentally benign backstop to carbon emissions is likely to become a reality….. “…every carbon dioxide molecule in the atmosphere is incorporated in a plant within a time of the order of 12 years. Therefore, if we can control what the plants do with the carbon, the fate of the carbon in the atmosphere is in our hands…. The science and technology of genetic engineering are not yet right for large scale use. We do not understand the language of the genome well enough to read and write it fluently. But the science is advancing rapidly, and the technology of reading and writing genomes is advancing ever more rapidly. I consider it likely that we shall have ‘genetically engineered carbon eating trees’ within 20 years, and almost certainly within 50 years. “Carbon-eating trees could convert most of the carbon that they absorb from the atmosphere into some chemically stable form and bury underground. Now, the trans-Atlantic financial Establishment that spawned the Club of Rome and its modern reincarnations, is reeling from the breakdown crisis of its financial system, the stunning defeat of their “forever wars” in Afghanistan, the rise of a global alternative to their bankrupt system in the form of China’s Belt and Road Initiative, and restive populations in many countries that are desperate for substantive change. A prosperous physical economy is the precondition for the positive development of the common good, providing not only the elites, but all people with quality food, clean water, affordable and modern health care, quality education, modern communications and, above all, cheap and sufficient energy with high energy flux densities.”

The British Empire has recently notched up a number of economic policy successes—successes, because their policy of Malthusian deindustrialization and depopulation is succeeding in destroying many parts of the globe. Afghanistan, for example, after 20 years of senseless geopolitical warfare, is now being denied access to its own funds ($9.3 billion, as per orders of Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen) and is facing a de facto Western economic boycott, which threatens to bring starvation to countless millions and poverty to 97% of the population—according to the most recent UN estimates.Haiti, another bankers’ success story, has 80% poverty. Lebanon now has 75% poverty, thanks to the IMF’s policies and the global energy breakdown. And Syria, the victim of endless imperial warfare and looting, now has a 90% poverty rate. But there is another reality, which every nation on the planet also knows about. Back in 1984, China had a poverty rate of 77%—not unlike what we see today in the four cited nations. And yet over the following 37 years, China lifted over 850 million people out of poverty, reducing its extreme poverty rate to 0%. Hard reality is also asserting itself in various other ways. Try as they may, the British utopians have not been able to banish reality entirely, which is making itself felt forcefully on a number of fronts, as recent developments indicate: • A British parliamentary commission report was issued blasting British policy on COVID in the early period of the pandemic, for adopting “herd immunity” as policy, and for making “a serious early error in adopting this fatalistic approach and not considering a more emphatic and rigorous approach to stopping the spread of the virus as adopted by many East and Southeast Asian countries”—i.e., by China. • Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang presided over a meeting of the National Energy Commission, and announced that China would not blindly de-carbonize its economy, and that instead “the capacity for energy self-supply should be enhanced,” and that China would “build advanced coal-fired power plants as appropriate in line with development needs.” The British rightly read this as a kick in the teeth to the Green Malthusian agenda for the upcoming COP26 meeting in Glasgow, Scotland. • The U.S. Labor Department issued a jobs report on Oct. 12, which says that 4.3 million people quit their jobs in August, a record pace, mainly in the food, retail and health sectors. The report considers that this is largely due to the continuing COVID crisis and that people don’t feel safe working in those sectors. So, contrary to the media propaganda, it is not vaccine mandates and the like which are hurting the economy, but the opposite. • Oil shock: How does $580 per barrel of oil grab you? So far in 2021, the price of oil in the U.S. has gone up 65%, and natural gas by 112%. It’s worse in Europe, where natural gas is projected to reach $30 per million BTUs later this year, and Citigroup is even warning that it could rise as high as $100 per million BTUs, if it’s a very cold winter. They proclaim that would be the equivalent of $580 per barrel of oil. Such reality has a way of impelling people, and especially their leaders, into action—action that they might have previously dismissed as too radical or impractical. On Oct. 14, the Schiller Institute will be holding meetings and rallies around the world to “expose and denounce a crime” against all humanity, and demand: “Release the Funds of the Afghan People!” The call to action concludes: “We, the undersigned, call on President Joe Biden to act in the spirit of the 2020 Doha agreement, signed by the U.S.A., and lift all unnecessary sanctions against Afghanistan, including the use of malign pretexts to prevent its control over the assets of its own central bank as well as its normal access to the international financial markets. The urgency is now!”

Helga Zepp-LaRouche today issued a stern warning that the Green Reset policies of the bankrupt Western financial Establishment have unleashed a hyperinflationary price explosion, notably in the energy sector, coupled with a breakdown collapse of the global physical economy, including its so-called supply chains. This is careening towards “the end game of this financial system,” she forecast, and as this slams the population of the nations of Europe and the United States, “the big awakening will come.”Zepp-LaRouche laid the blame for this systemic breakdown squarely on the Great Reset’s channeling of all investment and capital flows into a gigantic green speculative bubble, on top of 50 years of Malthusian austerity policies which are responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as for killing 16 million people a year through starvation. Consider some recent developments in this collapse: • The United Kingdom has escalating shortages of gasoline and of food on the shelves of supermarkets, and they are expecting major disruptions in the ability to harvest food crops this fall. The government has mobilized the army to deal with the gasoline crisis, beginning with 150 tanker truck drivers to move oil from depots to gas stations. • Italy will be raising consumer electricity prices across the board by 30% next Monday, Oct. 4. This will cause massive social and economic dislocation, and it is being blamed on global price hikes for coal, natural gas and other energy sources. • U.S. home sale prices jumped by 19.7% in July, the largest monthly increase in 30 years. They’ve been going up for 14 straight months, and the same inflationary pattern applies to rents. • U.S. shortages of all sorts of consumer and producer goods are expected increasingly through the Christmas period. The transportation system cannot move goods quickly, and major ports such as Los Angeles and San Diego have huge backups and delays. • The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) and other industry groups representing 65 million transport workers worldwide today issued a public letter warning of a “global transport system collapse.” • China is facing continuing power cuts and rationing, especially in the northeast of the country. Factories are also affected and many have had to shut down, which is expected to have a big impact on the global supply chain, since China is a major producer for the world market. • The price of natural gas in Europe has quadrupled so far this year, and the international price of oil is following in its wake. Brent crude yesterday traded above $80 a barrel and ended the day at $79.09—near its three-year high. Government spokesmen and financial media are pumping out stories to explain away each of these developments as a string of unrelated events, each with its individual cause: rising energy prices, labor shortages, panic buying, supply chain disruptions, you name it. But the reality is that this is a global pattern which reflects a physical-economic breakdown that is underway, coupled with financial asset hyperinflation of the $1.7 quadrillion speculative bubble. This is a process described uniquely by Lyndon LaRouche’s famous Triple Curve function, a process which is now inexorably playing out on the global stage. Inflation in specific markets (consumer prices, raw materials, etc.) may or may not show up as such in a given period; but it is the overall hyperinflation of financial asset prices which is driving the process—in other words, the “everything bubble,” especially the derivatives bubble. Lyndon LaRouche explained this process in a Sept. 19, 2000 memorandum, “Bring Oil Price Inflation Under Control” (which we reprint in full below), in which he wrote: “Broadly, the current global inflation in petroleum prices threatens to be the detonator of a chaotic breakdown in many, if not all of the economies of the world…. The underlying cause of the crisis, of which the petroleum-price crisis is but the presently leading political-economic consequence, is a general hyperinflation in financial asset-prices, which is now being expressed, at increasing rates, as a hyperinflation in commodity prices now following a trend similar to that suffered by Weimar Germany during the interval March-November 1923…. The increasingly desperate effort to secure inflows of financial assets into the U.S. dollar sector, has seized upon several combined factors, as the opportunity to increase asset-price accumulations from hyperinflationary trends in the delivery prices of petroleum products.” Predictably, the financial Establishment centered in the City of London and Wall Street is in a real conundrum over what to do. On the one hand, they must raise interest rates and “taper” quantitative easing if they wish to contain the inflationary explosion. On the other hand, they can’t raise interest rates and “taper” QE if they want to prevent a total blowout—in fact, they have to unleash ever more extreme forms of monetary and fiscal QE (“financial regime change”) just to live to see another day. The LaRouche movement’s policy to address the crisis is the diametrical opposite of both of these failed Establishment approaches. “The only remedy,” Zepp-LaRouche explained in her weekly webcast, “is a banking separation, a global Glass-Steagall, and to replace this bankrupt system with a new one. That is what we are going to continuously bring into the debate, because this is now really the end game of this financial system.” She went on to draw out what’s at stake in Europe and the United States, and why the Schiller Institute has focused urgent attention on solving the crises in Afghanistan and Haiti, in particular: “There must be a change in attitude! Stop this depraved indifference, the notion that we are trying to get people to reflect upon. Because you have all these people in the West who aren’t even interested. They go about their business as usual. But the only way the U.S. and European nations will overcome their own problems is by focusing on the mission of overcoming the underdevelopment of the developing sector…. You invest in physical economy. You shift from speculation and profit to the idea of the common good, which always has to start with investment in real infrastructure development. “If we cannot get the West to make such a shift, then it is almost a foregone conclusion that the West will go under like the Roman Empire, because of decadence, a depraved state of mind. So we intend to shake people up. “And the way to go is to stop this geopolitical nonsense, which can only end up in the annihilation of the human species, and join hands with the countries of the Belt and Road Initiative, and have joint projects … and move civilization to a condition where the laws of the universe are also the basis of the economic and political policy. That’s why natural law does exist.”

A two-day summit meeting of the heads of state and government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization begins on Sept. 16 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, which will focus on how to stabilize and economically reconstruct Afghanistan. The nations of Asia are generally committed to working with China’s Belt and Road Initiative to bring infrastructure and related development to Afghanistan, and to make sure that international terrorism and the drug trade don’t carry the day.Not so the United States and Europe, whose governments are applying the British imperial policy of starving the nation into submission—or into mass death. The Western nations have frozen Afghanistan’s assets abroad, making it impossible for the economy to function and workers to be paid by their employers; sanctions are ensuring that elementary health care cannot be provided to the population, sanctions that now threaten to explode already widespread poverty into the outright starvation of millions. This is the actual strategic backdrop to the revelations contained in Woodward and Costa’s new book, Peril, which are receiving ample coverage in the mass media. The central fact—which is known to this news service totally independently of the contents of that book—is that there was a British-steered attempted coup d’état against President Donald Trump and the U.S. Constitution in and around the period of the Nov. 3, 2020 presidential election. That operation included efforts by leading figures of the military-industrial complex, reportedly including Gen. Mark Milley, the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to unconstitutionally substitute themselves for the President in the role of Commander in Chief. It also included setting the trap of planned Jan. 6 violence orchestrated by agents provocateurs employed by the FBI and other intelligence agencies, and then ensnaring President Trump in that trap with the assistance of the likes of the seedy Steve Bannon. The underlying strategic issue, as the British and their minions such as Milley repeatedly made clear, was Trump’s active decision to pull American military forces out of Afghanistan, end the entire British imperial policy of perennial warfare under the phony flag of “fighting terrorism,” and work cooperatively with Russia and China. That is why that same British apparatus, including General Milley, reacted with shock and dismay when President Biden announced that he would carry out the Trump-initiated policy of a total pullout from Afghanistan and ending the decades of perpetual genocidal wars. Milley, who today is still head of the JCS under Biden, took to national television on Sept. 4 to openly contradict Biden’s stated policy, predicting that the American pullout would mean that Afghanistan would collapse into civil war, that widespread terrorism would erupt there—and, of course, that American troops would have to return to continue the war. Helga Zepp-LaRouche has presented a totally opposite policy for Afghanistan, and for the world. She issued a call for the United States and Europe to join with China, Russia and Central Asian nations in the economic reconstruction of Afghanistan. This approach can stop the perennial war policy, defeat the ongoing British attempted coup d’état in the U.S., and otherwise establish a new strategic alignment capable of replacing the bankrupt London-centered Western financial system. The current attempted coup is actually a continuation of what was unleashed 20 years ago, on Sept. 11, 2001. American statesman Lyndon LaRouche explained the matter in an interview he gave to the daily Al-Bayan, from the United Arab Emirates, on Nov. 16, 2001—scarcely two months after the infamous 9/11 attack. In it, LaRouche began by locating the recently-occurred events in their proper strategic context: “The currently ongoing monetary-financial collapse is far worse than a mere depression, such as that of 1929-1933; it is a systemic collapse of the world system set into motion by President Nixon’s actions of August 1971. Those attacks could have been organized by nothing less than an intended coup d’état deployed from within very high levels of the U.S. internal military-security apparatus…. “Somewhere, during the evening of Sept. 11, there was a new decision made, to respond to the effect of the morning’s attacks by declaring a war on ‘terrorism,’ and, as I warned against this on a radio interview earlier that day, picking long-standing Anglo-American asset Osama bin Laden as the scapegoat for the case…. “Someone, at very high levels, within the U.S. command structure, unleashed an attempted coup d’état against the Bush government on Sept. 11. Had that crisis led to a nuclear alert escalation between the U.S.A. and Russia, the coup plotters would have succeeded, almost without doubt. President Putin’s Sept. 11 telephone conversations with President Bush, changed the situation in a radical, beneficial way. “Otherwise, nothing else has been solved. The coup d’état has been defeated, at least temporarily, but the nightmare rolls on….” LaRouche then pointed to the way to end that nightmare: “Without putting the present international monetary-financial system through a most drastic form of bankruptcy reorganization, the attempt to continue that system with most reforms, will plunge the entire planet into an early new dark age which will last for perhaps two or more generations…. The U.S. is careening towards a “perfect storm” of major social and economic crises over the next couple of months—just as we hit the 50th anniversary of Lyndon LaRouche’s stunning forecast of August 15, 1971, when Nixon pulled the plug on the Bretton Woods financial system, and set the country on a downward physical economic plunge which now threatens our very existence, precisely as LaRouche had warned would occur.With the COVID crisis exploding again in the U.S. and internationally, and the global financial system hanging by a thread, the U.S. is looking at: 1) mass evictions of millions of renters in early October (postponed two months by last-minute action yesterday by the Biden administration); 2) a wave of millions of mortgage defaults and foreclosures in the same time frame; and 3) the end of unemployment help for millions of Americans. And all of this is bearing down on the U.S. as the green-Malthusian energy and industrial blackout plan of the British Empire is scheduled to enter its operational phase internationally, with the COP26 meeting in Glasgow in early November. On the eviction crisis, the can was successfully kicked down the road by exactly two months, to Oct. 3. The CDC announced yesterday—after days of buck-passing among Congress, the Supreme Court and the Administration—that “counties experiencing substantial and high levels of community transmission levels” of COVID-19 would have the current eviction ban extended to Oct. 3. That reportedly covers 80% of the counties and 90% of the population in the country. CDC Director Rochelle Walensky stated on Aug. 3: “The emergence of the delta variant has led to a rapid acceleration of community transmission in the United States, putting more Americans at increased risk, especially if they are unvaccinated…. This moratorium [on evictions] is the right thing to do to keep people in their homes and out of congregate settings where COVID-19 spreads.” In terms of renters, more than 15 million people live in households that owe as much as $20 billion to their landlords, according to the Aspen Institute. As of July 5, roughly 3.6 million people in the U.S. said they faced eviction in the next two months, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s Household Pulse Survey. As for mortgages, at the beginning of August at least 1.75 million homeowners remain in forbearance, or 3.5% of all homes in the US, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association. About 1.5 million of the 1.75 million in forbearance are at least 90 days behind—a number roughly equivalent to that reported in March 2021—and at least 20% of them won’t be able to forestall foreclosure past September, according to the Washington Post. But the eviction moratorium doesn’t even begin to touch the underlying problem. Even Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) stated yesterday: “This is a short-term, long-term strategy. When in fact the moratorium ends, we absolutely cannot be in the same place we are in now. … We need to have some legislation passed in Congress, in the House, especially.” But there is no indication that she or anyone else in Congress is thinking at this point of anything other than more bailout funds, which will of course do nothing to solve the underlying problem. The proper approach is LaRouche’s Homeowners and Bank Protection Act, or HBPA, which provides the required policy—which emphatically includes the bankruptcy reorganization of the entire international speculative bubble, and kick-starting the U.S. physical economy with massive investments in physical infrastructure projects at home and abroad, along with other nations such as China, Russia and India. It is clearly time to study the wise words of Lyndon LaRouche. And that will be the central theme of the LaRouche Legacy Foundation’s upcoming Aug. 14 conference: “So, Are You Finally Willing To Learn Economics?”

You may have missed it, but back on July 23 the British hosts of the upcoming Glasgow COP26 UN climate change conference announced excitedly that there were only 100 days left to the beginning of their Nov. 1-12 green atrocity, which is intended to usher in the Age of Depopulation based on enforced deadly cutbacks in energy and industrial production, justified by a supposed “science of climate change.” This is the Schachtian nightmare that Lyndon LaRouche warned 50 years ago would become Mankind’s fate, if we failed to alter the deadly policy course adopted on August 15, 1971. That policy course has not been altered—yet.To flatten the Earth on the way to Glasgow, which will meet under the slogan “Uniting the World To Tackle Climate Change,” the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will release the next report of its Working Group I on Aug. 9, following an approval session now underway from July 26 to August 6. “Working Group I assesses the physical science basis of climate change,” the IPCC lies pompously. “The report will provide the latest assessment of scientific knowledge about the warming of the planet and projections for future warming, and assess its impacts on the climate system.” What “latest science” is that? Perhaps the stated view of “11,000 scientists” who released a letter today arguing that the COVID-19 pandemic is all fine and good, but far more drastic cuts in human activity as a whole are needed, including “stabilized and then declining population.” So the clock is indeed ticking, as the COP26 organizers announced. Helga Zepp-LaRouche today threw down the gauntlet against the green depopulation agenda. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are already riding, she stated, but we will rally the forces of science and human dignity to stop them, in an international anti-Malthusian alliance which presents an alternative to this madness of depopulation and warfare among the super-powers. An important step in that direction was taken at last Saturday’s July 24 Schiller Institute conference on the lie of climate change. Zepp-LaRouche added that we are seeing some small cracks in London’s geopolitical warfare strategy, such as the July 28 U.S.-Russian meeting in Geneva, but derogatory anti-Russian statements such as those issued once again by President Biden poison the environment to any serious progress. We remain on a short fuse to World War III because of the breakdown crisis of the entire trans-Atlantic financial system, she stated, but there is an opening around the Afghanistan situation for cooperation among the U.S., Russia, China and others, an opening which must be acted on immediately while it is still there. Historic windows of opportunity such as this one, Zepp-LaRouche explained, or like the one in 1989 with the Fall of the Berlin Wall, close quickly if the moment is missed. It is with that reality in mind that we turn to the twofold task of organizing this weekend’s July 31 Schiller Institute conference on Afghanistan, and building the international alliance of forces to make sure the Age of Depopulation never occurs.

When human societies enter a systemic, or breakdown crisis, they produce moments which seem to live in two “worlds” at the same time—worlds which are mutually contradictory or, more precisely, incommensurable. There is the equivalent of a mathematical discontinuity between them. They are what Lyndon LaRouche referred to frequently as “singularities,” unique moments of transition between two mutually irreconcilable conditions of the system.The fall of the Berlin Wall was one such moment in recent history. Another was the beginning of the French Revolution, that “great moment [that] has found a little people,” as Schiller wrote. Afghanistan represents precisely that kind of an opportunity/danger today, which is why Helga Zepp-LaRouche insists: “I compared [the Afghan pullout] to the Fall of the Berlin Wall and the German reunification and the end of the Soviet Union… In a certain sense, it’s different in scale, maybe, but not in terms of essential quality, because the end of the Soviet system was the end of a historical phase, the end of a system. And what the Afghanistan withdrawal signifies, it’s also the end of a system of endless wars.” The alternatives now facing that region (and the world) are to either descend fully into the hell of drugs, terrorism, an uncontrolled pandemic, and economic collapse; or to enter a new paradigm of win-win relations with the Belt and Road Initiative. Zepp-LaRouche stated: “The development and integration of Afghanistan is in the interests of the Afghani people, it is in the interests of their neighbors, in the interest of the entire Eurasian continent. So I’m quite optimistic that it can happen, but the crucial question is, will the United States cooperate with Russia and China?” Everything hangs in the balance. The danger of British-promoted confrontation between the U.S. and Russia is escalating (as are U.S.-China tensions), to the point that the Russian Foreign Ministry yesterday held a board meeting chaired by Sergey Lavrov, which issued a sharply-worded statement that “bilateral relations [with the U.S.] had approached a dangerous confrontational threshold through the fault of Washington, who have provoked an unprecedented escalation between our states over the recent years.” This, they note, despite the potential for strategic dialogue signalled by the June 16 summit between Biden and Putin. What, then, is the nature of moments of singularity such as today’s, and how are we to act upon them? The outcome of such transitional moments is not foreordained, but is subject to Man’s willful intervention. Helga Zepp-LaRouche, in an October 1987 writing “On the Sweetness of Truth,” written to celebrate the 65th birthday of her husband, the late Lyndon LaRouche, discussed Nicholas of Cusa’s work “The Vision of God”: “The universe consists of negentropically growing manifolds of ever higher orderings, whose microcosm is human Reason. If the person now recognizes this divine order of creation, at each singularity, that is to say, at the transition from one manifold into the next higher, by his creative efforts he will determine the ‘terminus specie’ which enables further development … It is at this moment, that creating and being created coincide also for human beings, since the actualization of infinity in one point (terminus specie),— in a singularity — means, that the knowledge upon which he bases his creation, must be adequate, that is to say, it must represent the greatest possible approximation to Truth at that time. Through the creative act, the human being extends anew the lawfulness of the universe in a lawful way.” [emphasis added—ed.] In his October 1995 “Riemann Refutes Euler: Background to a Breakthrough,” LaRouche addressed the same concept in terms of music and classical composition: “The singularity in question is generated by the difference in direction of time-sense—backwards versus forwards—of the two, interacting ideas respecting the poem or musical composition in mid-performance… The character of these ideas as singularities arises from the way in which their existence is generated subjectively: by the same kind of processes underlying the reading and composition of a valid Classical strophic poem. The quality of ‘singularity,’ and the associated form of mathematical discontinuity, arises from the opposing senses of time associated with the interplay of perfected ideas with the process of their development.” [emphasis added—ed.] The Afghan singularity, and its creative resolution, will be the subject of a Schiller Institute international seminar on Saturday, July 31. And it will come into proper focus as such, located between the Saturday, July 24, Schiller Institute webcast on the fraud of climate change and the coming blackouts; and the Saturday, Aug. 14 seminar sponsored by the LaRouche Legacy Foundation, “On the 50th Anniversary of LaRouche’s Stunning Forecast of August 15, 1971.”

Lyndon LaRouche frequently made his audiences uncomfortable by posing to them the question of whether or not the United States, and Mankind as a whole, had lost the moral fitness to survive—that if the trajectory of current policies and thinking continued, our species might well disappear.For example, in his Feb. 15, 2000 article, “‘He’s a Bad Guy, But We Can’t Say Why’”, LaRouche wrote: “Through the cult of popular opinion, Rome acquired its fatal loss of the moral fitness of its culture to survive. If one compares the pornography and blood-and-gore in mass entertainment, with what usually passes for mass-media news broadcasts, one should recognize, with a sense of horror, the systemic likeness of the moral depravity of ancient Roman culture and our own.” LaRouche elaborated: “History punishes, or even weeds out nations and cultures which suffer a manifestly incurable want of the moral fitness to survive.” Now consider today’s withdrawal from Afghanistan by the U.S. and allied NATO forces. Will we be able to debate out and change the disastrous policies which led us into that 20-year catastrophe? This is a crossroad for humanity, Helga Zepp-LaRouche told associates today. Will we allow Afghanistan to sink into a civil war, with an ensuing nightmare of terrorism, drugs and mass migration? Will we continue the same, failed policies? Or can we change those policies and cooperate with China, Russia, and other powers for the well-being of the entire area, by extending the Belt and Road Initiative across the region, as Lyndon LaRouche long advocated? In a press conference immediately following his June 16 summit discussion with President Biden, Russian President Vladimir Putin was asked about the future of U.S.-Russian relations. “As for sanctions and economic restrictions, I have already pointed out that we are not aware of the domestic political mood and the line-up of forces [in the U.S.], or rather we know, but we cannot fully understand the developments. Some forces are against improving relations with Russia, and others support this. I cannot say which of them will win.”The LaRouche Organization and the Schiller Institute have been the most consistent and clearest voices for strategic sanity, uniquely presenting Lyndon LaRouche’s policies for constructing a durable peace based on the bankruptcy reorganization of the global financial system, and providing for the accelerated development of the impoverished developing sector, in particular. Today, the British Navy’s guided missile destroyer Defender, operating in the Black Sea, intentionally crossed 3 km over into Russian territorial waters off the coast of Crimea, and only departed 30 minutes later after a Russian border guard patrol ship twice fired warning shots across its bow, followed by a fighter jet dropping four bombs in front of the Defender’s path. As former British Ambassador Craig Murray commented: “There are those who see this activity as evidence of the UK’s continued great power status. I see it as evidence of lunacy.” Indeed. All the more so since Putin and other Russian government officials have this week presented the U.S. with concrete initiatives to get the security dialogue underway, and reiterated their government’s willingness to put Russia’s hypersonic and other advanced weapon systems on the negotiating table, so long as serious overall talks occur. And all the more so since the Chinese government has similarly presented the West with an honorable exit from their dead-end economic policies which have unleashed a deadly pandemic which threatens the entire planet, offering instead agreements for economic cooperation that can begin with the establishment of a worldwide system of advanced health-care systems to address the current, and likely future, pandemics. A week ago, Putin stated “I cannot say which of them will win,” referring to the policy battle in the U.S. and the West in general over cooperation or confrontation to address the global crises. The answer to that question, in significant measure, will be provided by those participating in the ongoing process of policy discussion at the Schiller Institute’s international conferences, including the upcoming one to be held this weekend on June 26-27.

U.S. President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin emerged from their four-hour summit discussion today in Geneva, Switzerland, to present to the world a “U.S-Russia Presidential Joint Statement on Strategic Stability,” whose brief text includes the following central commitment: “Today, we reaffirm the principle that a nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought.” That exact phrase was used by Presidents Reagan and Gorbachev in their famous November 1985 summit at the height of the Cold War, in the very same location.Presidents Biden and Putin further agreed to establish a bilateral Strategic Stability Dialogue for teams of experts on both sides to begin work on the myriad security-related problems facing the two countries, and the world. The summit meeting, both leaders agreed, was constructive, and a first step towards improving U.S.-Russian relations, which have sunk to their lowest level in decades, perhaps ever. Strategically, this is a step back from the brink, and an urgently needed one. But it is a small first step, which is not yet secure and which the enemies of peaceful cooperation between the U.S., Russia and China will deploy heavily to stop. In fact, the very fact that President Biden met with Putin at all, let alone reached a modest agreement to begin talks, has already provoked wild hysteria among the press hyenas, who tore into Biden at his post-summit press conference in a way they had previously reserved for President Trump. Those media are the paid hit-men for the bankrupt Wall Street and City of London interests, and their Establishment operators in the military-industrial complex, the intelligence agencies, and elsewhere, whose survival depends on stopping U.S. cooperation with Russia and China at all costs. The LaRouche Organization and the Schiller Institute have been insistently warning of the danger of nuclear war, precisely because of the unsalvageable bankruptcy of the entire trans-Atlantic financial system. We have sounded the alarm against the British-led drive to impose Malthusian depopulation across the planet, in the guise of the Great Green Reset. And, most importantly, we have restated and elaborated on the policies presented by Lyndon LaRouche as the only viable long-term strategy for winning a durable peace. This is the kernel of the political and economic policies of practice indispensable to the fostering of durable peace between those two powers…. “The powers jointly agree upon the adoption of two tasks as the common interest of mankind, as well as the specific interest of each of the two powers: 1) The establishment of full economic equity respecting the conditions of individual life in all nations of this planet during a period of not more than 50 years; 2) Man’s exploration and colonization of nearby space as the continuing common objective and interest of mankind during and beyond the completion of the first task. The adoption of these two working-goals as the common task and respective interest in common of the two powers and other cooperating nations, constitutes the central point of reference for erosion of the potential political and economic causes of warfare between the powers.”
