The talks between U.S. and Russian officials yesterday in Geneva reached no positive outcome. This should not be a surprise, as U.S. spokesman Ned Price announced that the U.S. "had not intended to reach any agreement with Russia." Will this attitude persist as the U.S. approaches further talks? With the Trans-Atlantic nations facing a deepening economic crisis, warnings of a "sharp correction" in hyper-inflated stock markets, the continuing disruption caused by the pandemic, starvation threatening 22 million in Afghanistan, and electricity blackouts in Germany, this is the time to move towards cooperation between sovereign nation states, rather than geopolitical confrontation to defend bankrupt corporate cartels.
Now is the perfect time for the people living in the Trans-Atlantic nations to come to their senses, and throw out the ideological insanity embodied in neoliberal, and neo-conservative policies. The security dialogues with Russia this week provide an opportunity to move away from geopolitical confrontation with Russia; hyperinflation, supply-chain breakdowns, and unsustainable debt expose the fallacy of radical free market/free trade policies; and winter has shown why the Green New Deal must be dumped. So let's get to work, and organize a new paradigm, based on the body of work done by statesman and economist Lyndon LaRouche.
by: Harley SchlangerJan. 8 -- Beginning on January 10, there will be three meetings which will include Russian and American representatives, in which the possibility exists that the tensions which have increased over Ukraine during the second half of 2021 will be addressed, resulting in a de-escalation. These meetings follow direct discussion in two video conferences in December between Presidents Putin and Biden, in which the most urgent issue addressed was the danger of war between Russia and Ukraine. U.S. intelligence claims to have evidence, based on Russian troop movements along the border, that they are preparing to invade Ukraine, as early as the end of January. President Putin dismissed this claim, raising instead his concerns over the possibility that Ukraine would be granted membership in NATO, a prospect he denounced as an unacceptable provocation, which would be the crossing of a "red line." While Biden insists that an offer of NATO membership is not imminent, the Russians have pointed to ongoing NATO-U.S. military exercises in Ukraine, and the provision of increasingly sophisticated weapons to Ukraine, as a threat to Russia's security. Putin has submitted drafts of two legally-binding treaties -- one for the U.S., one for NATO -- which would prevent further eastward expansion of NATO, would prohibit the delivery of new weapon systems to the Ukrainian military, and would pressure Ukraine to abide by the Minsk agreement which it signed to allow for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in the Donbas. He has been raising the need for security guarantees repeatedly, as the anti-Russian rhetoric and NATO military deployments have escalated. For example, he said in a speech delivered to the Valdai Discussion Club in Sochi on October 21, that Ukraine does not even have to be given formal NATO membership to pose a strategic threat to Russia. "Formal membership in NATO ultimately may not happen, but the military development of the territory is already underway. And this really poses a threat to the Russian Federation....Tomorrow, rockets could appear near Kharkov, what are we going to do about it? It's not us placing our missiles there, it's them shoving theirs under our nose." He continued, referring to the February 1990 promise made to Soviet President Gorbachev by U.S. officials, on behalf of NATO, that no eastward expansion of NATO would occur after the reunification of Germany: "Everyone from all sides said that after the unification, in no circumstance would NATO infrastructure move toward the east. Russia should have been able to at least rely on that. That's what they said, there were public statements. But in practice? They lied...and then they expanded it once, and then they expanded it again." Putin elaborated his view of the threat to Russian security in a December 21 report to the Defense Ministry Board: "What they (the United States) are doing on the territory of Ukraine now -- or trying to do and going to do -- this is not thousands of kilometers away from our national border. This is at the doorstep of our home. They must understand that we simply have nowhere to retreat further....Do they think we don't see these threats? Or do they think that we are so weak-willed to simply look blankly at the threats posed to Russia?" Putin stressed that placing weapons with nuclear devices in Ukraine puts them within 5 minutes of Moscow! He continued, "As I have already noted, in the event of the continuation of the obviously aggressive line of our Western colleagues, we will take adequate retaliatory military-technical measures, and react toughly to unfriendly steps. And, I want to emphasize, we have every right to do so, we have every right to take actions designed to ensure the security and sovereignty of Russia....We are extremely concerned about the deployment of elements of the U.S. global missile defense system near Russia." In case the urgency and intensity of Putin's message were missed by the Trans-Atlantic powers, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reiterated the non-negotiable nature of Putin's demand for the adoption of these treaties. Russia is preparing, he said, "to firmly and effectively pursue the agenda of defending our interests and refusing to make concessions that would be unilateral...."
by: Harley Schlanger Jan. 4 -- The idea proposed by Helga Zepp-LaRouche to make 2022 the "Year of LaRouche" is not an honorific request, shaped simply by a desire to see that an intellectual giant, the late Lyndon LaRouche (1922 to 2019), is given the recognition he richly deserves. It is, instead, a necessary intervention, to provide both world leaders and honorable citizens the profound, in-depth insight required to pull the world back from the danger of thermonuclear war -- which is what Mrs. LaRouche intends in making this proposal.Lyndon LaRouche had an absolutely unique knowledge of the dynamics that shape human history, which he presented as an integrated understanding of the inter-relationship between strategic relations, global financial and economic processes, scientific advance and culture. The solutions he developed to the civilizational crisis which has been unfolding and deepening since the end of World War II, and especially since the 1963 assassination of President John Kennedy, come from his "top-down approach," of the sort which few today can even appreciate, not to mention replicate. That is why the crisis today is an existential threat to human society, and requires a return to the quality of philosophical/scientific rigor which characterized the richness of his output over the last half-century. A short report cannot provide more than a glimpse into that work, However, a brief review of a statement he presented in a webcast on December 23, 2011, may inspire our readers to engage in a serious dialogue with the body of ideas which are the legacy of Lyndon LaRouche. The webcast was published under the headline, "To Stop Thermonuclear War, Bring on the World Economic Recovery." He begins by identifying the increased danger of war during the Obama presidency as coming from the "intention" of a global oligarchy, centered in the City of London and deploying Obama as their tool, "to eliminate two nations -- Russia and China." The urgency behind this is that the Trans-Atlantic world, since 2007, has faced an accelerating bankruptcy crisis. To protect the value of worthless paper in the hands of the financial institutions controlled by that oligarchy, they deployed central banks to pump unprecedented volumes of liquidity into the system, not to create a real, physical economic recovery, but to maintain the illusion of solvency. It was clear then, as it is today, that the sovereign nations of Russia and China would not submit to bailing out speculative predators, and that made them the ultimate targets. This process which he dissected then entered a new, even bigger phase, following the near-financial collapse in September 2019, with Russia and China again representing the major obstacles to a global financial dictatorship known as the Great Reset, to implement the Malthusian Green New Deal. Thus, the present provocations which are underway against Russia using Ukraine, and China using Taiwan. To shift the power away from the predatory looters of the City of London and Wall Street, which enforced the looting through the U,S. military, NATO and intelligence warfare, such as "regime change coups", he proposed an alliance of Four Powers -- Russia, China, India and the U.S. These nations possessed the potential economic might to enact the measures necessary to transition from the collapsed system into a New Paradigm. To accomplish this, he drafted his Four Economic Laws, which would begin by reaching an agreement to put the world economy through a "legitimate bankruptcy operation," centered around the 1933, Franklin Roosevelt policy of Glass Steagall banking separation. If this were done in a coordinated way today, it would wipe out the worthless debts sitting on the books of bankrupt financial institutions, which he called "gambling debts", opening the way for new credit issued by sovereign national banks, which would function as "Hamiltonian credit" institutions. Each nation would be able to generate credit into reviving the physical economy, with an emphasis on developing new platforms of infrastructure, and credit into areas at the frontiers of science, such as nuclear fusion, and space exploration. There is no other alternative to the "LaRouche Solution." Risking thermonuclear war to sustain a system which is hopelessly bankrupt is not an acceptable option.
Fearful that upcoming negotiations between the U.S. and Russia might lead to a de-escalation of the crisis in Ukraine, the City of London/Wall Street globalists are setting up a "bear trap" in Kazakhstan, in an effort to further demonize Putin and destabilize Eurasia. No shock here, to find George Soros and Tony Blair in the middle of things, another Color Revolution which, if successful, will benefit no one but the global oligarchy! The "democratic" self-proclaimed leader of the rioters is a former Energy Minister, a convicted embezzler whose party is coordinating the rampaging rioters from Kiev!
Helga Zepp-LaRouche raised the question today as to whether the rioters rampaging through the streets of cities in Kazakhstan are being deployed on behalf of a Color Revolution designed to derail the upcoming talks between officials of the U.S. and NATO with their Russian counterparts. She said she had been expecting something like this -- we don't know yet if it is, but we will investigate. A leading Russian analyst said he's hopeful that some positive changes may result from the upcoming meetings, pointing out that engaging in a dialogue is in itself some progress, especially after the hostile rhetoric of the recent years. He said the statement of the P5 members of the U.N. Security Council that "nuclear wars cannot be won, and should not be fought," is a "good first step", but must be followed by specific commitments -- such as cooperation in rebuilding Afghanistan.
There are many lies being spread by financial talking heads in the media about what is behind the inflation that is eating up your paycheck and savings. What is not being discussed is how the flow of an unprecedented volume of trillions of dollars to the biggest banks, to cover their speculative losses, is the actual driver of hyperinflation. This is a scandal! As Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase and Citigroup are rolling over tens of billions in overnight loans from the NY Fed -- of which they are the majority shareholders -- there has been a cut-off of credit to firms engaged in physical economic activity. This began before COVID and Green New Deal legislation. It must be ended by re-enacting Glass Steagall banking separation.
The Permanent 5 members of the UN Security Council announced their agreement that "Nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought", in a statement issued on January 2. To realize this ideal, the practice of geopolitics, which underlies today's obsession with the "Rules-Based Order", and justifies the use of threats and military force to protect it, must be definitively rejected. The alternative to geopolitics is the adoption of the strategic, economic and cultural approach developed by Lyndon LaRouche, which is why Helga Zepp-LaRouche has called for 2022 to be the "Year of LaRouche."
The torchlight march of neo-Nazi militia through Kiev on New Years Day exemplifies why Russian President Putin is demanding written, legally-binding security guarantees from the U.S. and NATO. These forces, which were at the heart of the February 2014 regime change coup, and proudly trace their lineage to Nazi SS collaborator Stepan Bandera, are calling for the liberation of Crimea from Russia, and crushing the movement for autonomy in eastern Ukraine. They represent a threat not only against Russia, but against Ukraine and NATO, as they are engaging in provocations against Russia. As JFK declared in his October 1962 speech announcing a blockade of Cuba against Russian ships, no country can tolerate "in an area well-known to have a special and historic relationship to the United States...a deliberately provocative and unjustified change in the status quo..." The provocations against Russia, using Ukraine as a tool, is what Putin is reacting to today.
Today Putin and Biden will have a discussion, aimed at a de-escalation of the crisis over Ukraine, which has been provoked by U.S.-NATO actions and over-heated rhetoric. This occurs at a moment of accelerated collapse of the western financial system, the spread of COVID to the point of a dramatic reduction of life expectancy in the U.S., and growing political, social and cultural instability in nations of the TransAtlantic region. In response, the institutions of the Larouche organization are upgrading our intelligence product, to provide the answers you need to organize others out of the dangerous condition of sleepwalking in the midst of a civilizational crisis.
Ray McGovern wrote that he believes the willingness of President Biden to engage in diplomacy with Putin is perhaps the result of being awakened to the "profound shift in the world correlation of forces" due to the deepening of the China-Russia alliance. A series of meetings is now scheduled in January, to address Putin's concerns over the continuing eastward expansion of NATO. The War Hawks are boldly proclaiming that the west must not give in to Putin, willing to risk war to preserve their commitment to the fraudulent idea of a Rules-Based Order. This insanity, based on loyalty to British geopolitics, must be rejected by an awakened citizenry -- join us to bring down the globalists of the Military-Industrial-Complex, and end their dangerous utopian delusions.
Assuming that NATO has not crossed the "red line" delineated by the Russians in Ukraine, it appears there will be talks by mid-January to take up Russian President Putin's insistence that new treaties be adopted to prevent further eastward expansion of NATO. Given evidence that the U.S. has repeatedly violated pledges made in the past to Russian leaders, and that the War Hawks are pushing for tighter encirclement of Russia, what is the likelihood of a positive outcome to this crisis? It is necessary that citizens of the western nations intervene against the Military-Industrial-Complex of their nations, if the danger of war is to be averted. The chronology of events on the Schiller Institute website provides you with the intelligence you need to intervene.
Remember the energy hoaxes of the 1970s, when alleged boycotts by OPEC oil producers were the excuse given by Kissinger and Schlesinger for soaring gas and oil prices? The same kind of fraud is being perpetrated again, by the politicians run by corporate cartels; only this time, it is not only being used to drive up prices, but to provoke a highly-dangerous military confrontation between the Trans-Atlantic countries and Russia. Putin exposed this in a national televised press conference last week. Did you read about it or hear about it in the western mainstream media?????
As Putlin reiterated his warnings to the U.S. and NATO to not cross the clear "red lines" he has drawn, he said this is not an "ultimatum", but a necessary defense of Russia's national security. Are his American and NATO "partners" listening? Putin said there are "certain signals" that a diplomatic resolution is possible, and Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov affirmed that discussions will take place in the new year. Yet NATO, and especially the British, are continuing to move forces to the Russian border, leading to concerns that an attack into eastern Ukraine by Kiev neo-nazi units could provoke a Russian invasion. At the same time, energy prices in Europe are spiking, as part of an inflationary spiral which will only worsen, as the global Green New Deal is imposed -- though the Atlanticists will blame Russia for energy shortages and blackouts. There are real solutions, beginning with signing the treaties proposed by Putin; dismantle NATO; and adopt Lyndon LaRouche's economic program, which could turn 2022 into an excellent year!
After 20 years of destructive, mindless wars, which benefitted no one but the contractors of the Military Industrial Complex and the War Hawks they fund, it is urgent that the west adopt a New Paradigm, of mutually beneficial, peaceful cooperation, to rebuild the targets of those wars. What better time than now, to act in the spirit of Christmas, exemplifying the ideal of Good Will toward All Mankind? The ecumenical spirit of generosity and love must replace the Satanic geopolitics of the "war of each against all", which has typified the actions of the Trans-Atlantic powers for at least four decades. This spirit is embodied in Operation Ibn Sina, Helga Zepp-LaRouche's proposal for humanitarian aid and economic development for the people of Afghanistan. Join us in our mobilization to realize the goals of Operation Ibn Sina
CNN reported a leak from the Biden administration that there is only a "four week window" to prevent a Russian invasion of Ukraine -- or perhaps, they meant to say to provoke an invasion of Ukraine! Some believe the leak came from well-known leaker Jake Sullivan, who has been exposed by special counsel John Durham as one who spread the false Russiagate story of Trump campaign links to Russia and Putin through a Russian bank -- a story exposed as a blatant fabrication. Is Sullivan pushing his anti-Putin obsession more aggressively for fear that further exposure of his role in the Clinton campaign in Russiagate could lead to his indictment?
On October 22, 1962, President Kennedy said in a televised address, that the build-up of Soviet missiles in Cuba "in an area well-known to have a special and historical relationship to the U.S....is a deliberately provocative and unjustified change in the status quo which cannot be accepted by this country." A very similar message has been sent by Russian President Putin to Trans-Atlantic leaders regarding the ongoing efforts to bring Ukraine into NATO, and place offensive weapons on the borders of Russia. Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Grushko said on Saturday, "We have reached our red line....The moment of truth has come." The Soviets responded to JFK by removing the missiles, and opening a back channel for discussion, thus avoiding war. What will U.S. and NATO leaders do today? by: Harley Schlanger Dec. 17 -- Following the implosion of the COP26 climate summit and the farcical nature of last week's "Summit for Democracy", it is becoming increasingly evident that the power of the Trans-Atlantic alliance to enforce a unipolar order through false narratives, backed by military and financial intimidation, may no longer function. The alliance has generally succeeded in imposing its will on the world since the collapse of the Soviet Union, arrogantly assuming the role as the ultimate arbiter of what its defenders call the "Rules-Based Order" (RBO). Give up your sovereignty and play by the rules -- even when they undermine the development of your nation -- and you can be part of the club. But step out of line, and you will face the full fury of an international war machine, steered from the City of London and Washington. Just ask Saddam Hussein, Qaddafi, Yanukovych or Assad what the future has in store for you, if you defy the rules of the post-Cold War order!Yet, in spite of the devastation and destruction which can be unleashed on those nations and leaders which refuse to submit, the unilateralists been unable to successfully conclude the wars launched since the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the U.S. The most recent example was the withdrawal from Afghanistan, where U.S. and NATO forces were unable to crush an insurgency, and left a nation in disarray, with a majority of its population facing possible starvation, as the "nation building" which had been the ultimate announced goal built nothing which could be sustained. While the alliance still possesses the power to withhold funds to starve millions who have the misfortune to live in a country targeted as a rules' breaker, this is hardly a positive advertisement for the RBO. The willingness of nations to stand up against the drive for a unipolar world undermined the efforts to impose a global "green" dictatorship at Glasgow, and provoked derision from many towards the idea of a summit to enforce democracy, through threats and bullying. Yet the same institutions and individuals who were the architects of this policy seem to have concluded that they can still use their unilateral power to force the world to submit to their continued dominance. In the last weeks, following the retreat from Afghanistan, the Biden administration, with full backing from Boris Johnson's teetering government and NATO, moved ahead with its "Pivot to Asia", a containment strategy against China, and threats of military and other war-like acts against Russia, over Ukraine. In both cases a narrative was produced, which accused the two nations of aggressive intention and behavior towards Taiwan and Ukraine; a movement of weapons and troops followed, and the narrative was reinforced by allegations presented at various institutional settings, including at the NATO Foreign Ministers meeting in Riga, Latvia on November 30-December 1. Then, in spite of what appears to have been a useful exchange between Presidents Biden and Putin during their video summit on December 7, the rhetorical assault escalated, as key figures, among them U.S. Secretary of State Blinken, British Foreign Minister Truss, and NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg, warned of "painful" measures against Russia, should they invade Ukraine. This, despite a pledge from Biden to host a dialogue with Putin and leading NATO members on Russia's concern over the eastward expansion of NATO, and Kiev's refusal to abide by the Minsk agreement. The belligerent attitude against both Russia and China was amplified at the so-called Summit for Democracy, which was a blatant attempt to divide the world into two warring camps, those of the "democratic" states against the "bullying, authoritarian" nations, headed by Russia and China. Sleepwalking Into Nuclear War The Schiller Institute's founder and chairwoman Helga Zepp-LaRouche has repeatedly warned that the proponents of the RBO are risking a nuclear war, with their threats to expand NATO in the Indo-Pacific region, to counter the alleged threat from China, and through their buildup of forces on Russia's western border. She said that western media complicity, through a constant barrage of lies backing up the hostile narrative, is blocking recognition of the danger, leading to a population "sleepwalking" into a nuclear war. She called on officials to have the courage to speak out, and for citizens to mobilize to head off this danger. Saner voices are now emerging, provoked into action in part by comments from Sen. Wicker of Mississippi, the number two ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee. Wicker, on December 7, said that in the event of "Russian aggression" in Ukraine, "I would not rule out American troops on the ground. We don't rule out first use nuclear option." Later, in a clumsy attempt to backtrack, he still insisted that we should "not take anything off the table."
Answering your questions: Is there any way Biden would be allowed to respond positively to Putin's proposals from their video summit for a de-escalation over Ukraine? Is Putin still conducting diplomacy based on his desire for a P5 summit? Is there something we can do to encourage China and Russia to create an alternate financial system? Where is John Durham and his investigation when we need him?
In the last ten days, there has been a flurry of diplomatic discussion prompted by the U.S.-U.K.-NATO insistence that Russia is about to invade Ukraine. Putin has been busy, making the case that it is the Trans-Atlantic nations which are the aggressors, that they are launching provocations in the Ukraine-Black Sea region, and in the Indo-Pacific. The dream of some deranged geopoliticians, that they could replay the efforts of Henry Kissinger in the 1974-76 period, to pit Russia and China against each other, suffered a probable fatal blow with the Putin-Xi summit yesterday. While Blinken, Stoltenberg and Truss are huffing and bluffing, an alliance of sovereign nations, committed to peaceful economic cooperation, is growing. Can the American people outflank the London-Wall St. corporate geopoliticians, and bring the U.S. in on the side of the alliance of sovereign states?
In the last days, Putin spoke with Macron and, at some length, with Xi. With the former, he emphasized why he insists that western countries demand that Ukraine adhere to the Minsk agreement on resolving tension over eastern Ukraine, and agree to no further expansion of NATO. With Xi, the discussion focused on achieving "ever-lasting peace and good neighborliness" on their common border. Meanwhile, new German Chancellor Scholz is trying to reassure Germans that his radical Green transformation won't negatively affect their personal well-being!
There is no better example of the fraud behind the Biden administration's "Summit for Democracy" than the attempt to murder whistleblower publisher Julian Assange. His crime? Publishing documents exposing war crimes committed by U.S. forces in Iraq, and covered up by U.S. officials. The U.S. is proceeding with the case to extradite Assange from the U.K., where he continues to be held in Belmarsh prison. As Assange awaits a predetermined guilty verdict if he is extradited to the U.S., the same networks he exposed for war crimes in Iraq are running yellow-journalist reports on Russia's alleged plans for a military attack on Ukraine, risking the danger of triggering World War III.
The discussion of "de-escalation" from the threatening situation around Ukraine did not last long. While Biden affirmed that he never intended to engage U.S. troops against Russia if a war broke out in Ukraine, the war hawks met at a G7 Foreign Ministers meeting, threatening "devastating consequences" if Russia would invade Ukraine, even as they were goading on Ukraine's neo-Nazi extremists in the defense and security forces to provoke a confrontation in eastern Ukraine. Read Helga Zepp-LaRouche's statement, "Psychotics Are Threatening Our Existence! Germany Must Leave NATO!", to understand what's behind the war drive, and how to counter it.
Friday questions -- What is the Summit for Democracy? Do you think that it is inevitable that the U.S. will go to war against Russia and China? What is the alternative to war, how can the War Hawks be stopped? Who or what is behind the War Hawks, and the drive for more wars? Is there a strategy to take power from the hands of the corporate cartels? (Hint -- study LaRouche's Four Laws, and fight for their implementation)
In her weekly webcast, Helga Zepp-Larouche said that in spite of a potential for de-escalation of tensions between Russia and U.S./NATO resulting from Tuesday's video summit between Putin and Biden, we are "still sitting on a powder keg." Biden said he will speak to allies about Putin's request for a guarantee of no further NATO expansion, and putting pressure on Kiev to stick to the agreements they signed at Minsk. However, Sullivan and Blinken, who flanked Biden during his talk with Putin, continued to make threats against Russia, including that there would be a "blistering response" if Russia invades Ukraine. This was backed up by threats to Russia from Democrats and Republicans, including one Republican Senator who called for considering a first strike with nuclear weapons against Russia. In contrast, Tucker Carlson called such talk a "bipartisan sort of insanity." Zepp-LaRouche concluded her comments by calling for reasonable voices to speak up now, and join her in pursuing multilateral cooperation through such projects as "Operation Ibn Sina."
