April 10, 2025 (EIRNS)—The release of the statement “What Each And Every Nation Must Do Now: Wall Street Gave Us This Crisis—LaRouche Has The Solution” initiates the final six-week phase leading to the May 24-25 Schiller Institute International Conference, “A Beautiful Vision for Humanity in Times of Great Turbulence!” The deliberations that are designed for the six panels and two days of that conference, are the counterpoint to an identical process that must be brought into being, preferably in that same period of time, involving Presidents Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, both as individuals, and as representatives of a combination of governments that must agree on a shared idea of humanity and its future.
The crisis matters that now appear to be before the world, on tariffs, trade, currency imbalances, stock value, etc. and the civilization-ending wars which they may provoke, are not the subject. Humanity itself, including whether it is morally fit to survive, is the subject. Leadership in Europe and the United States, however, and many of the citizens of the trans-Atlantic world, are “playing Hamlet.” They are pretending to be confused about the crisis that is occurring, in order not to face what they already know they must do about it.
There is no reason to be mystified by what is now happening—and only those who truly misunderstand economics would be induced to believe that anything now going on in the “world of money” is actually caused by the recent actions of President Donald Trump. Nearly 18 ago, economist Lyndon LaRouche said, on July 25, 2007:
“First of all, this occurs at a time when the world monetary financial system is actually now currently in the process of disintegrating. There’s nothing mysterious about this; I’ve talked about it for some time, it’s been in progress, it’s not abating. What’s listed as stock values and market values in the financial markets internationally is bunk! These are purely fictitious beliefs. There’s no truth to it; the fakery is enormous. There is no possibility of a non-collapse of the present financial system—none! It’s finished, now! The present financial system can not continue to exist under any circumstances, under any Presidency, under any leadership, or any leadership of nations. …”
In nations such as Russia and China, and earlier, Mexico, India, Brazil, South Africa, and several others, the physical-economic ideas of Lyndon LaRouche have been taken seriously, and have even affected economic policymaking over decades. In the United States, however, LaRouche was singled out, vilified and, in October 1986, nearly assassinated—like others in American history, including the present occupant of the White House. Since the 1990s it has been “illegal” to act upon LaRouche’s economic ideas.
Times, however, have changed, The other survivor of that near-assassination, Helga Zepp-LaRouche, founder of the Schiller Institute, initiator of the International Peace Coalition, and wife of Lyndon LaRouche, proposed more than two years ago the “Ten Principles for a New International Security and Development Architecture.” Zepp-LaRouche also released a March 14, 2023 statement, “Call for an International Emergency Conference To Reorganize the Bankrupt Financial System.” It warned that “Given the extreme over indebtedness of the financial system coupled with a derivatives exposure of $2 quadrillion, the ‘Everything Bubble’ is threatened with the fate of what Wall Street guru Bill Gross compared to a supernova—a bright shining star that suddenly burns out.”
That—not tariff wars, not trade imbalances, not “a new great depression,” not “the end of the American empire,” but a world physical breakdown crisis leading rapidly, perhaps nearly instantaneously, to thermonuclear war, is what the world is facing. The deliberative process that must now take place, involving Presidents Xi Jinping, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, must feature the deliberate exclusion of the intervention, presence and policy formulations of the British imperial system.
What humanity needs to survive, in these next weeks and months, is for citizens of the trans-Atlantic world, but particularly of the United States, to stop imitating Shakespeare’s Hamlet, and instead, to follow the sublime example of the real, historic Joan of Arc, the founder, together with her protégé Louis XI, in France, of the modern nation-state. The significance of Joan of Arc’s victory, in 1429-31, was discussed by Lyndon LaRouche in his 2004 study, “On The Subject of Tariffs and Trade”:
“What we know of the history of mankind, shows that until the revolutionary, Fifteenth-Century European Renaissance, the general, physical-economic characteristic of society, was a relatively smaller number of persons exploiting a larger number as virtual human cattle….” In the footnote that accompanies this passage, LaRouche observes: “For example, after the close of the U.S. Civil War, many among those who had opposed chattel slavery, earlier, turned against the cultural policies of such as Frederick Douglass (development of the highest known powers of the human mind, is freedom of the soul, through which the freedom of the body may be won). They proposed that the mass of freed slaves not be educated above the level of their expected condition of employment.”
Why would LaRouche bring such considerations into a discussion of tariffs and trade? The short answer, is that Lyndon LaRouche knew that it was the American System of Physical Economy, as founded by Alexander Hamilton in his Four Reports—two on Public Credit, on the National Bank, and on Manufactures—and later advanced by Abraham Lincoln’s economic advisor Henry Charles Carey, that was the real basis for the abolition of slavery worldwide, not just in the United States, and not just the sale of slaves. All economic actions involving the American System, begin, not from money, but from the recognition that its purpose, in the words of Henry Carey, “is the only one ever devised the tendency of which was that of ELEVATING while EQUALIZING the condition of man throughout the world.” [Emphasis in original.]
Isn’t that what China did, with eliminating poverty among 800 million of its population? Isn’t that what Russia did, from 1999, when it was on its back, until 2024? Is that what the United States is doing, for example, in its approach to tariffs, trade, employment, credit, farming, manufacturing, science policy? Through the dialogue among the three Presidents, and the intervention of our conference, can the American System be resurrected in America before World War Three begins?
The answer is, as Beethoven said: “Es Muss Sein—It Must Be!” A Beautiful Vision for Humanity in Times of Great Turbulence!
