March 31, 2025 (EIRNS)—There is a grave escalation of the threat of direct military strikes and warfare against Iran by the United States, with involvement of Britain. Terrible in its implications of needless death and havoc spreading throughout the region, it is part of the effort to stop the renewed diplomatic relations between the United States and Russia, whose potential cannot only resolve the Ukraine crisis, but that of other conflicted areas, even the current horrors in Western Asia.
In recent days, there has been an exchange of letters between the U.S. and Iranian government leaders, concerning Iran’s nuclear energy capacity, military capacity—nuclear and non-nuclear, and related issues. March 30, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said during a cabinet meeting, that “the path for indirect negotiations remains open. It’s the behavior of the Americans that will determine the continuation of the negotiation process.” The U.S. has been massing significant naval, air and troop capabilities into the region. President Trump said on March 30 to NBC News that, “If they don’t make a deal, there will be bombing.” He added, “There’s a chance that if they don’t make a deal, that I will do secondary tariffs on them like I did four years….”
Today Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei warned that “If any hostile act is committed from outside—though the likelihood is not high—it will undoubtedly be met with a strong counter strike.” He said this during his sermon for Eid al-Fitr. Iranian Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei posted on X today, “An open threat of ‘bombing’ by a Head of State against Iran is a shocking affront to the very essence of International Peace and Security.”
Helga Zepp-LaRouche, Schiller Institute leader, spoke of these developments today as the darkening of “the clouds of war.” She warned against this escalation, heading toward havoc across the region, and also pointed out the larger context and implications.
Confrontation with Iran is one of the traps set for President Trump to spring, intended to take down key figures in his new government, and most importantly end the world-important normalization of U.S.-Russia relations, which he has begun. SignalGate is being used for this purpose.
Trump may be known for erratic behavior, but along come the British with obvious, smarmy operations, to manipulate and trap him. Look at this past weekend. Finnish President Alexander Stubb, a proud Anglophile, paid a visit to Mar-a-Lago, played a round of golf with President Trump and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), a pin-feather war-hawk; and when Stubb left, he went straight to London to meet today with MI6, the British Secret Intelligence Service, and with Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Trump and Starmer spoke by phone on March 30, with Starmer boasting that the two leaders agreed “to keep collective pressure” on Putin. Trump began yesterday by choosing to talk tough about Russian President Putin on NBC News. The trans-Atlantic controlled media squawked on cue that Trump may finally have started to understand that you cannot trust Putin. Stubb is quoted in London’s The Guardian April 1, “I think we’re probably moving into the direction where the Americans are seeing Russia for what it’s worth…. The half-ceasefire has been broken by Russia … my sense is also the President of the United States is running out of patience with Russia.”
However, from the Kremlin today, spokesman Dmitry Peskov took the high road with measured remarks. He said that the negotiations were “ongoing” on Ukraine, and as for the discussions on the Black Sea agreement, it is “a work in progress.” As for another telephone call with President Trump, which Trump had suggested, Peskov reported that while “there is no such telephone conversation currently planned on the agenda … I would like to reiterate that President Putin remains open for such discussions. Such a telephone call could be organized quite promptly if necessary.”
The British-French Coalition of the Willing, the EU ReArm Europe and EU “Reassurance Force” for Ukraine can be seen as ludicrous, except they are deadly. The militarization demand they are pushing is, in actuality, another financial bubble, the terminal bubble in the sequence of bubbles, following on the global “Green” fraud, also pushed by the political-financial centers of the City of London, Wall Street, and satellites. The war economy bubble is untenable. As for the leading figures of Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and others, they are toy soldier Napoleons—but playing with nuclear fire. Rallies and voices are rising against them in Europe.
Jacques Cheminade, President of the Solidarité et Progrès party in France, spoke out this past weekend against what he called the “Franco-British imperial alliance for war.” Cheminade addressed the Paris demonstration held by the Patriot Party, led by Florian Philippot, in which Cheminade told the demonstrators: “We are here, in the streets, to save France. This is a tragedy because they want us to attack an enemy we don’t have, with money and weapons we don’t have. They want to make us rearm, by plundering our savings and pushing us further into debt, as if it weren’t bad enough….” He further spoke of the traps laid for Trump, the traps laid for what populations are supposed to think. He told his fellow citizens: “It’s time to free ourselves from the traps. I’ll say Macron is illegitimate, Macron is complicit. Impeachment!”
As this kind of call to action reverberates across the trans-Atlantic, we also see the response of those cornered: They perpetrate intimidating and illegal actions to squash opposition. In France today, judges handed down a ruling that prevents political activity by Marie Le Pen, of the sizable Rassemblement National (National Rally) party, for five years. Moreover, this action against her lifts the gate for another political figure to make gains, who has aligned himself with all that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is doing. In the other “democracies” across Europe there are similarly blatant interventions, as we have seen in Romania.
