U.S./U.K. NATO Leaders Fuel Momentum to Escalate Ukraine Conflict into All-Out War pdf (149.54 KB)

Nov. 29, 2024 (EIRNS)—The White House on Nov. 28 issued a statement in the name of President Joe Biden denouncing Russia’s “horrific” attacks on Ukraine earlier that day, using terms of self-righteous insanity. Biden pledged to continue “prioritizing air defense exports” to Ukraine, from the U.S.. The sense of the message is that Russia has no reason but “aggression” for their actions.

The Russian Ministry of Defense on Nov. 28 issued a statement stating exactly what they did the night of Nov. 27-28, and over the Nov. 25-26 period, for the reason of delivering “strikes at deployment sites of the AFU long-range weaponry.”

As leaders of the U.S./U.K. and NATO know full well, they themselves have given approval for the use of long-range weaponry—U.S. ATACMS and HIMARS missiles, U.K. Storm Shadow missiles—from Ukraine deep into Russia, and have deployed support capacities, including personnel on the scene, to conduct the attacks. Crazed Western politicians are calling for even more and further attacks on Russia. Secretary of State Blinken phoned Ukraine Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha today to discuss “full U.S. support” to Ukraine.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reiterated today, “If these missiles are used, there will be an appropriate response every time.” This was reported in media including the Moscow Times, and AFP. He said, “[Russian President Vladimir] Putin had warned that the authorization to use U.S. and other foreign-made missiles was an irresponsible and escalatory stop.”

The Russian Defense Ministry Nov. 28 statement gives specifics of what Ukraine targets were hit in terms of their involvement in long-range strike capacity, including power infrastructure, and military industry enterprises. American and French nationals are reported to be among the dead. On Nov. 25, in Kharkov, “up to 40 foreign specialists mainly from the U.S.A. were eliminated.” In Odessa, an Iskander missile strike “neutralized 72 personnel of uncrewed surface vessel operator teams, including 9 French instructors and technical specialists.”

Recall that on Nov. 18, it was reported that the Biden Administration gave approval at the beginning of this month, for U.S. military contractors to now send Americans to Ukraine, to maintain and repair U.S.-provided weapons systems. This was a first, since Feb. 21, 2022, the beginning of the Russian special military operation. Le Monde this week reported on the prospect of French private military contractors operating in Ukraine, so far not permitted, but perhaps approved in the near future.

These updates characterize the growing, deadly momentum in the West’s escalation to provoke all-out war, ending with nuclear obliteration.

This situation was discussed in today’s 78th weekly international online meeting of the International Peace Coalition (IPC), with presentations by experts on the strategic situation. Ray McGovern, former CIA analyst, and co-founder of the Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS) pointed to the fact that advisers to Western leaders are incompetent, and at the same time, there are no Western communications channels functioning with Moscow. McGovern pointed to evaluations by Fyodor Lukyanov, whose article translated by RT on Nov. 27 is titled, “How Likely Is a Nuclear Exchange over Ukraine?”

Lukyanov’s writing opens, “The ongoing standoff over Ukraine is increasingly becoming a direct confrontation between Russia and NATO, raising serious concerns about the risk of nuclear escalation.” Lukyanov, who is Chairman of the Presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, writes further that, “Confidential communication, once a crucial part of managing nuclear deterrence, has almost completely disappeared. Instead, all signals are being delivered publicly, relying on open statements and media leaks.”

Helga Zepp-LaRouche, Schiller Institute leader, and initiator of the IPC, called for maximum mobilization and outspokenness to break that situation. The events of the Schiller Institute’s international, online conference Dec. 7-8, and also events organized that weekend by Scott Ritter, U.S. weapons expert, and international leader for peace, are critical in their impact.

One voice today from Europe sounded the alarm. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, speaking on Kossuth Radio’s “Good Morning, Hungary,” this morning, commented about the two Nov. 28 “shocking pieces of news” from Ukraine. “According to Russian reports, U.S. and French soldiers were killed in airstrikes launched by the Russians on Ukrainian territory, which indicates these soldiers were present there. At first, you just say you support the war, then you send weapons there, and sooner or later soldiers appear who can be killed. This is exactly what happened in Ukraine to people with military status from Western Europe and America.” Orbán summed up, as reported by TASS, “We are facing a difficult and yet strange situation because we have never been closer to peace, while the military situation has never been more dangerous than it is now.”

Only Remedy to War Escalation: Intervention for a New World Economic, Security Architecture

June 23, 2025 (EIRNS)—FLASH. U.S. President Donald Trump, at about 6 p.m. local time in Washington, issued a Truth Post reporting that Israel and Iran have agreed to a ceasefire. He began, “CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE!” and wrote that the ceasefire would begin in six hours, and in 12 hours , the “War will be considered ENDED.” The following update, written before that announcement, remains relevant.

Tragedy Need Not Be Destiny

June 22, 2025 (EIRNS)—With the initiation by the United States of war on Iran this weekend, the final military objective of the 2001 “seven countries in five years” plan revealed on March 2, 2007 by Gen. Wesley Clark in an interview with Amy Goodman, the War Party is on the move once again. Journalist Glenn Greenwald pointed out yesterday that “Iran just became the eighth Muslim-majority country that the U.S. has bombed in the last 15 years, from Obama to Trump to Biden to Trump.” The list comprises Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Pakistan, Yemen, and now Iran.
