The frenzied euphoria among War Hawks over the "Wagner coup", which they claim shows that Putin is weak and Russia is crumbling, was taken to a new level, with a call for a "massive influx" of weapons to Ukraine (Chatham House), to provide "the tools and latitude to...bring Vladimir Putin's regime down" (op ed in {Daily Telegraph}). This is extremely dangerous, especially as those calling for this dismiss the idea that there is a red line for Russian security which must not be crossed.
