April 29—As Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at an online conference Saturday, countries representing 85% of the world’s population have made it clear they refuse to do the bidding of the neoliberal West. Even among those “occupied” nations among North America and Europe, the majority of the public are not in favor of risking the annihilation of civilization in a nuclear war in order to punish Russia. In the U.S., Congressional approval is at all-time lows, and President Biden’s support continues to drop. This, of course, makes all the accusations that “Russia is isolated” look quite absurd.
Yet despite this, the political class of Western nations is lunging headlong into confrontation. Those not quite so enthusiastic about full-blown nuclear war with Russia, are instead interested in moving on to the far more important nuclear war with China! Clearly, what these leaders lack in intelligence, they make up for in fanaticism.
All this while their nations are literally collapsing. On Friday, First Republic Bank’s stock collapsed to near-zero and the FDIC is apparently arranging a takeover by the end of the weekend. This will mark the third U.S. bank to have failed in two months. Meanwhile in Europe, protests and strikes continue to ripple across the continent, as citizens revolt from policies that are literally causing them to “lose the roof over their heads,” as one German Member of Parliament recently stated.
The framework for this kind of dual-reality comes from what was presented Saturday at the LaRouche Organization’s Manhattan Town Meeting—the role of the Disinformation Industrial Complex. Thanks to a tightly woven web of media, the political class, the military, and the Five Eyes intelligence community, a narrative has been crafted and maintained to ensnare and blind those within its grasp, and quickly expel anyone who opposes it. This web is why, for example, journalists and news outlets that should have been fired years ago for their lies about Iraq, Libya, Syria, Russiagate, etc. continue to write stories today about Ukraine’s looming victory and Russia’s corruption.
The good news is that the holding power of this Disinformation Industrial Complex is cracking, and can be further broken by courageous voices speaking out, loudly and boldly. The growing discussion around a new world order based on multipolarity, as opposed to unipolar hegemony, cannot be stopped. If mankind can avoid going into a nuclear World War III, the only possible outcome will be a fundamentally different basis of relations among nations, as is being more and more emphatically demanded by the world’s Global Majority.
In actuality, this is more akin to the original intention of the United States by far than is today’s “our way or the highway.” Americans would be wise to remember the words of soon-to-be President John Quincy Adams in 1821, on the subject of America’s foreign policy:
“Wherever the standard of freedom and Independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be. But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own. She will commend the general cause by the countenance of her voice, and the benignant sympathy of her example. She well knows that by once enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication, in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy, and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standard of freedom. The fundamental maxims of her policy would insensibly change from liberty to force…. She might become the dictatress of the world. She would be no longer the ruler of her own spirit…. [America’s] glory is not dominion, but liberty. Her march is the march of the mind.”
The march today is toward a new security and development architecture, which throws out the world’s financial speculators, and instead paves the way for the thorough development of all nations. The rest of the world is waiting to collaborate in this regard, given the West rediscovers its true identity.
