This July 4: Fight for the Inalienable Rights of Man

July 2—Diane Sare, the independent LaRouche Organization endorsed candidate from the state of New York for the U.S. Senate seat now held by Chuck Schumer, one of the most evil members (among many) of the U.S. Congress, has pointed out in her July Fourth Independence Day statement that “Any honest patriot will admit that our beloved nation is now the perpetrator of the very acts of unjust barbarism which the British Empire had imposed on the thirteen original colonies, and for which we fought a war to liberate ourselves.” We encourage you to go to that statement and review those acts of barbarism by King George III enumerated by America’s Founding Fathers, and ponder Diane’s words.

On November 24, 1984, at the Third International Conference of the Schiller Institute, a Declaration of the Inalienable Rights of Man was adopted, signed by over 1,500 citizens from more than fifty countries. The Declaration is based upon the American Declaration of Independence of 1776, with only a few changes introduced to take into account different particular features of the global struggle for human freedom and dignity today. The truth and powerful impact of that document is far more obvious today, as the transatlantic economy is now in a state of free-fall, hyperinflationary collapse, intentionally imposed upon both Europe and North America by the financial oligarchs of the City of London and Wall Steet, with an impact upon the developing nations which can only be construed as Malthusian genocide. At the same time, these leaders, far more insane than the pathetic King George III, are preparing for war on Russia and China, whose leaders, it must be noted, have rallied the vast majority of the world’s nations and peoples to cooperate in scientific, economic and cultural development, as demonstrated in the June 24 BRICS-Plus events in Beijing.

Consider these words from the Schiller Institute Declaration of the Inalienable Rights of Man. It includes that most famous phrase from the U.S. Declaration of Independence, which America itself has struggled, through Civil War and civil strife, to fully uphold: “We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights; that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” It then notes that when “a long train of abuses and usurpations … evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism; it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.”

The “government” guilty of such “abuses and usurpation” today are not simply the sovereign states—although the states of the Western world certainly share the guilt and are jointly responsible—but rather, the government of the now crumbling global financial system, controlled not by elected officials but by the Governors of the Bank of England, of the Federal Reserve Bank, and the Lords of the IMF and World Bank, who so ruthlessly discarded the original intention of Franklin Roosevelt for those institutions: to end colonialism and transform the former colonies into modern agro-industrial nations.

The Schiller Institute Declaration of the Inalienable Rights of Man enumerates those abuses of the financial empire centered in the City of London and Wall Street, as did the original Declaration against King George III. Among these abuses, which now apply equally to the U.S. and Europe, as they do the developing nations, are:

“They have refused their Assent to our plans of development, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

“They have forbidden their Banks to engage in business of immediate and pressing importance for us, and in equal terms.

“They have dictated to us terms of trade and relations of currency, that have relinquished our Rights as Equals in the World Community, a Right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only….

“They have overthrown legitimate governments repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness their invasions on rights of the people.

“They have refused for a long time and in many instances, after such topplings, to permit other republican forces to be elected in a democratic form…;

“They have obstructed justice by giving aid and comfort to undemocratic forces whom they regarded as their ‘assets.’…

“For cutting off our trade with all parts of the World; for imposing conditionalities on us without our consent.”

We have reached a moment in history in which the danger is so great—not only of nuclear war, but of economic conditions in which people simply cannot survive—that a growing number of people are finally willing to throw away their delusion that the “powers that be” will somehow prevent the dissolution of civilization, and to begin looking for solutions to the global crisis. The danger is not to any one nation, but to civilization as a whole—and the solution, if sovereign nations are to survive, can only be found at the level of civilization as a whole—a fundamental truth long recognized by Lyndon LaRouche.

To that end, the Schiller Institute has issued a petition: Call for an Ad-Hoc Committee for a New Bretton Woods System, which you should sign and circulate.
