April 13 (EIRNS)—Today, the Biden administration announced that $800 million worth of new weapons would be shipped to Ukraine, in order to perpetuate the blood-letting in that country and escalate the war against Russia.
Yesterday, President Joe Biden accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of committing “genocide.” Also yesterday, British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss led an international chorus of fabricated accusations against Russia for carrying out chemical weapon attacks against the city of Mariupol, without providing one shred of evidence, and then threatened that Putin would be “held accountable” and warned that the West had “all options on the table” against Russia.
That was yesterday and today. What will tomorrow bring?
“By the minute, by the day, the world is heading to the verge of World War III,” Helga Zepp-LaRouche stated today. We are careening toward the perfect storm of war, famine, and social chaos, as desperate and enraged populations react to the systemic breakdown of the trans-Atlantic order. The bankruptcy of the Establishment’s political class is such, Zepp-LaRouche emphasized, that they are manifestly incapable of reflecting on the fact that their policies may have been mistaken. But their unipolar world is over, and the majority of the nations on the planet recognize that in one way or other—despite the threats and bully-tactics used against them.
We are heading toward the perfect collapse of the entire system, Zepp-LaRouche reiterated, unless the root issues are addressed in time, unless the solutions provided by Lyndon LaRouche over a half century are put on the table for immediate, intense international discussion—a process which began at last weekend’s Schiller Institute conference on creating a new international security and development architecture.
Russian President Putin was right to center the matter on the collapse of the unipolar world. In comments April 12 for Cosmonautics Day, he said: “What do we see now? We see the collapse of the unipolar world system that developed after the disintegration of the Soviet Union. This is the main point. The main thing is not the tragic events in Donbas and Ukraine; they are not the main thing.”
But what will replace that dying unipolar world order? Putin emphasized the future-oriented solutions that lie in space science and breakthroughs in nuclear energy, for Russia and all nations. “We will continue developing a new-generation transport spacecraft and space nuclear energy technologies, where undoubtedly, we have made a very good head start and possess absolutely obvious advantages… [We have] faith in the future, in our might and progressive development and confidence that we will certainly achieve all our goals. I am confident that this will be so.”
Putin then made the proposal extensive to all nations: “Therefore, we will work with those of our partners who want to cooperate with us. We will work on near space and outer space programs, and we will also implement our Moon-exploration program.”
That kind of approach is the needed basis for replacing the unipolar world order with a concept that locates our identity in the one humanity, in order to resolve the contradictions among the different nations.
