Statement from Diane Sare, President of The LaRouche Organization
Eighty years after the defeat of Nazi Germany in 1945, we find ourselves asking the question, “When does ‘Never Again’ begin?” One would have hoped that over these last 8 decades, which have brought the Nuremberg Tribunal and an official legal definition of the term “genocide,” that mankind would have evolved to the point where mass killings of unarmed civilians, starvation as a weapon, and the use of torture of captive human beings would be seen as prehistoric relics of a bygone barbaric age.
Instead, we seem to have gone back to the mantra of the tyrannical Caligula: “Let them hate me, so long as they fear me.” Even speaking against the genocide being carried out against the Palestinian people is cause for imprisonment, and/or banishment from the United States! One hopes that the crazy Caucus of Judea and Samaria in the U.S. House of Representatives is not planning to reintroduce the guillotine!
Unknown to most Americans, billions of people in the rest of the world no longer think the colonial system is a legitimate world order. They believe that Bibi Netanyahu is a war criminal who should be brought to justice, not cheered by foolish members of the U.S. Congress.
Leaders of powerful nations like China, Russia and India are developing an entirely new economic order, very much like that proposed by the much-maligned American economist Lyndon LaRouche in 1975, when he wrote his proposal for what he called the “How the International Development Bank Will Work.” At the time, Henry Kissinger and the British Royals launched a crusade to prevent this realignment, with the result that Lyndon LaRouche and more than a dozen of his associates were imprisoned.
Now, thanks in no small part to the arrogance of the billionaire Wall Street and London elites, who weaponized the dollar and tried to force entire nations into submission with brutal sanctions, self-respecting leaders of the BRICS-plus nations have developed alternative arrangements to protect their people from economic privation. The result has been that the United States has grown weaker, and much more indebted, while the nations we claimed to be harming grew stronger.
Ukraine, which we were supposedly “supporting” with hundreds of billions of dollars of military aid, has sacrificed as many as 1 million of her finest sons, and Israel will discover that it has paid a terrible price, if it even exists by the end of this. The price to society of forcing young soldiers to commit atrocities against women and children cannot be overstated. The mass shootings and soldier suicides in the United States bear witness to this reality.
Ceasefire is not enough. It is time for an abrupt break from the paradigm of empire. The United States must uphold the principles which we declared to be “self-evident” when we broke with and defeated the British Empire in our Revolution.
This means that we must demand that our nation respect the sovereignty of all nations equally, emphatically including recognition of a Palestinian State, with equal representation at the United Nations. It is the height of hypocrisy to claim to support a “two-state solution” while recognizing only Israel.
Lyndon LaRouche’s Oasis Plan to develop the entire region through large scale desalination and irrigation projects to green the desert will create the conditions for durable peace.
War with Iran Must Be Avoided
This will only succeed if the United States works in concert with the emerging BRICS powerhouse of economic development. To this end, President Trump’s efforts to establish normal diplomatic relations with Russia are extremely important. Both Russia and China have good relations with Iran, and with their involvement a reasonable agreement between the United States and Iran could surely be reached. This is why British and Israeli agents along with American neocons and Zionists are trying to goad President Trump into a war with Tehran. Americans must clearly understand that not only would a war with Iran be devastating for all of Southwest Asia, but it would ruin the possibility for trust between the United States and Russia, and ultimately jeopardize the security of everyone on the planet.
The United States can only become a respected nation among the majority of the world’s people if we stop contributing to the slaughter of innocents all over the world, and become a partner in economic development.
We are not benefitting in any way from our nation’s military adventures overseas. President Trump said we should cut the military budget in half. Let’s hold him to it! We can use those companies like Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin and others to build advanced infrastructure for the United States. Our energy supply grid is woefully inadequate. We need nuclear power, especially fusion! We need water management and high speed rail. We need to develop a modern health care delivery system, instead of closing hospitals all over the nation.
Human beings can be inspired by a bold vision for a bright future to put aside past grievances and work hard together for mutual benefit. Beating and threatening people to submit may work in the New York City real estate market, but will not lead to a good result on the world stage.
Work with the LaRouche Organization to move the United States into the new paradigm! “Never Again” starts with us!
